"They had what I was looking for and in the same color I
wanted and would have it ready for me in three days since it was in the box,
YES I paid $500 over MSRP but I was treated very well and the sales person
treated me like I was going to spend $1M. I even got to talk to the owner
and he was a very nice person to talk to and didn't mind spending time with
me and my questions. So OS-HD this is what you lost A buyer for a new 2003
FXDL and I also got a Heritage Softail 24 weeks later." - RN 03/06 "I
have a 73 xlh that needed the top end rebuilt. I figured I would get the
total price down by buying my own pistons for them to fit so I went ahead
and did this. I brought my heads, jugs and new Hi-Po pistons into their
service shop and dropped everything off, they seemed to be able to do quite
a bit so I asked for an estimate of the total bill for them to do a full
setup (valves, painting, seats, etc.)... Well they called back and said it
would be $900, I said no way, just fit the pistons, bore out the jugs and
call me when it's done. They called back about 2 weeks later and said come
on over and pick everything up, total bill is $900, I said what, How did it
get to be that much? They had gone ahead and done EVERYTHING they could
have done to them? I told them I can't pay that kind of money so about a
month later they called back and said, alright, come over and pay $700.
Well I'm an honest guy, I said I can see they're in a bind here after having
d one all of this work so alright. I get over there and now they say,
sorry, can't sell it to you for $700. Now they have my heads, jugs and
pistons. Turns out I paid them $185 to rip me off. Bike is now on ebay as
a basket case." - CH 07/07 |

"Ocean State H-D turned me off when I was ready for a new FXDL in 2003 I
looked there first. The girl I talked to said that they didn't have any at
the time but could leave 1000 down and she would call me when they got
some in and didn't know what color or when they would be there. That
wasn't that bad I started to ask about a Heritage Softail and that I may
even go with that bike if it came in first, at this point she started to
blow me off like I wasn't even going to buy a bike and started to walk
away like I wasn't there. I tried to ask her more questions and she just
seemed to push me away like I wasn't ever going to buy a bike and that I
was just wasting her time. I just got out of work and may have looked a
little worn but that isn't the way you treat someone interested in your
bikes and is going to pay cash. Well I ended up going to Precision
H-D/Buell. So OS-HD this is what you lost A buyer for a new 2003 FXDL and
I also got a Heritage Softail 24 weeks later. So don't judge your buyers
by looks they may have more then you thing and they always want more if
treated right." - RB 03/06 "I can honestly say that O/S HD is a
first class operation. All departments are friendly and know their job. If
an employer gets stumped they will admit it and will get help. During the
days of long waiting lists, O/S HD never sold over MSRP. I've seen
customers drive these people crazy but they took it like a grain of salt.
There is another Dealership across town that has a huge inventory and they
let you know it! They charge over MSRP for their cycles and really sock-it
to you in the service dept. I purchased new bikes (Two this year)
throughout the years and have had no complaints. Heck, I've even borrowed
specialty tools, used them at home and never even left a deposit! Try that
at "P" Harley Davidson!" - AG 04/06 |
