"Had breakdown, called American to trailer
into shop. They said carb was dirty and they would charge for cleaning, 1
hour. Had 5k service done same time and asked for SYN3. I was charged
for SYN3 but they actually put in fossil garbage. Had long discussion
with service mgr who seemed to know a lot about Suzukis but nothing about
HD's. Would not replace the oil for me after I rode 75 miles NEXT DAY on
their word. Argued some more and then he only changed the crankcase. I
called GM as well as stopped in to see him. He tried to sell me a new
bike. Also had refund coming for overcharges. Was told I would get check
in the mail, never did. By far this is the worst managed shop I have ever
been too and spent $$ in. They have two techs that are very good, not
sure how or why they still decide to stay there...after that I would stay
away, far away and don't be fooled by fancy smiles, new faces it's still
the same hell hole. Ever wonder why they always have NEW people working
there every few months?" - JW 05/06 "American H-D is now under new
ownership. Good leadership is what brings in customers, and I hope that
continues at American H-D." - CO 08/06 |

"they have lied about work done and parts ordered and I
believe they were trying to charge me for parts and services they did not
install. I have contacted Harley customer service ,the better business
bureau and an attorney about this issue. It just makes me wonder how many
other people received the same treatment or were charged for parts or
services they did not get! My experience at Brighton Harley Davidson has
been terrible and as a result I will not support any dealership again!" - KK

"My bike broke down outside of Flint and after calling
numerous dealers, I had Cummings tow the bike in. The bike had a severe oil
leak and the brand new-six hour old battery had died Kudos to them for
getting me off the road, however they had my bike for over a week to
diagnose a bad voltage regulator. $300 later and I'm back in the wind.
Only to have the bike die the next day. I don't believe the regulator was
the problem, but rather the bad connection between the stator and the
regulator, which I fixed. The service manager said they couldn't even look
at the oil leak issue for a couple of months. And he also told me that they
really didn't like to work on any bike that was older than a 1995. I think
what he meant was that no one working in service has a clue." - RS 08/06 |

"While the staff is generally extremely professional, had to leave
my bike that I purchased there for 7 days to get a simple 1000k service
done. And this is after waiting a few weeks for the actual appointment.
I understand that shops get backed up, but that is not acceptable. A
month later, my Fuel Injection reported a trouble code and I called about
getting it in to be looked at, and was again told that even after waiting
2 weeks for an appointment, I would be without a bike several days. I
decided that self-servicing is my best option until I can find a better
dealer." - RW 08/06 |

"I bought a new battery In December '05, at the Grand Rapids store. I
installed it in June '06. At the time I bought it the sales manager said
he didn't know how long it was on the shelf, and if I had any troubles,
even after warranty bring it back. A couple months later and I get some
charge system codes. It was my voltage regulator. I installed a new
Cycle Electric. I started having more issues a couple weeks later. I
used my service manual to perform the tests and the new regulator and my
stator were fine. Took the charged battery to NAPA and they said the
CCA's were low on this battery according to their tester. Took the
battery in and they said it didn't fail their test so they wouldn't
warranty it. I pulled it out and had NAPA test it, and it was low
still on CCA's. Auto Value tested and he said his tester indicated a bad
cell. Took it to Wild Boar, They tested the battery. He came back and
said it's bad. I got a new battery, but it cost me 160 miles in gas in an
SUV. I'm not real confident in this dealership's parts or service people."
- MG 06/07 "I took an 06 Ultra to Wildboar for the 20k service, up to
this point they have done all my service without to many issues. I got a
call from the service department in the morning saying that I had an inner
primary seal leak would I like it fixed? When I dropped the bike off I
told them about the discoloration of the top of my tranny cover, was told
they would figure it out. Was told my bike was done and ready for pickup,
went to pick it up, at that time and after $400 I was told the exhaust had
a fine crack in it that is what caused the bluing on the tranny cover, I
asked if it was fixed they said they didn't know if I wanted it fixed. I
guess later in the day the phones quit working or something, I took the
pipe off and found the fine crack to be finely cracked half way around the
pipe. The mounting screw was still not put in, I am still not sure what I
paid for up there, but I can assure them I will never set foot in Wildboar
again." - GM 07/07 "I had my motor done to 95" with gear cams and
heads when I picked up the bike the put chain drive back in I got 50 miles
on the bike and the piston hit the valves I had to take to a different
shop and have all re done I would not let them even change my oil from
this point on I also asked for my money back and so far nothing!" - KD

"Back in Oct., while on a weekend get-a-way, we paid a
visit to this dealer just to browse. The sales persons were very helpful and
friendly. We found the bike that we were looking for and even saved $3200
over our local dealer price, We also got a great trade for the bike we had
at the time. Our salesman went out of his way in helping us with the
purchase. We took it back there for our first service and were treated just
as good as the day we purchased it. I wished we lived closer. I would highly
recommend this dealer for all HD needs." - DG 06/07 |

"Needed a tire repair and neither Wild Boar, nor Sandy's
(about whom I've heard great things) could see me before my road trip later
in the week. So I called Hot Rod. The maintenance manager said he could
squeeze me in that day! I made the 40 mi trip to their humongous new
facility on Shoreline Dr. They took me right in, and I hit the show room
floor. One of the sales guys I knew from Wild Boar was there. Apparently,
a lot of WB staff have quit over the last few months, and Hot Rod has picked
up a bit of that talent. The parts guy was very knowledgeable, and helped
me with parts for my Shovelhead. Everyone I talked to was enthusiastic
about working there. The work was done quickly, and they delivered my bike
freshly washed. They're 20 miles farther away than WB, but they'll be
getting all my future business." - BG 10/07 |

been more than fair in dealing with me and everyone I have directed to
them. If you\'re looking for a family run business, that truly cares about
the customer, see Hamlin's. Both of my bikes were purchased at MSRP or
less. By the way I live 5 miles from a HD authorized dealer and ride 35
miles to do business with Hamlin's." - KA 01/06 |

"Biker Bob's advertises that it will put new tires on your bike while you
wait. I called the service dept. to see if that was true. I was told
they will only do one tire, front or rear, that way. Then, when I went
to make an appointment, I was told they would only put the tire on while
I waited, if I took the wheel off myself, and brought it in. If I wanted
to do that, I wouldn't need Biker Bob's. Come to think of it, I guess I
don't need them." - GM 06/07 |

"Expect great things from Bernie in Sales. My buying experience was right
on the money, delivery, price, commitment, financing. If you are going to
purchase a new bike try ABC in Waterford, MI. Good people there and it
shows." - JW 05/06 "I've gotta give a big hat's off to the service
people at ABC. Only because they were able to come out and pick my bike up
the next day after I called. They had it for less than a week and fixed
the problem. I'm not certain if the bike runs any better, but it does
stay running now. At least that\'s a start." - RS 12/06
"First met owner when he was also a BMW dealer. Was looking possibly
for a Harley. This was when there was NO stock to be had. He explained
that he sold for MRSP and only to people who actually ordered bike. Very
straight forward. Went by dealership last Sept and he had Road Kings in
STOCK! Talked to salesman who clearly knew his product line. Bought the
King that day. Finance, delivery, and 1k service perfect. Owner is very
available He is very straight forward on Harley problems in the real
world. Parts is very good. Goods and services are not free, but fairly
priced. I live 2 miles from another dealer, but ride the 25 miles to ABC
because of the attitude of the owner and staff." - TH 12/06 |
