"Excellent business! These guys prefer to work on the pre Twin-Cam bikes, but love Shovels and Pan's. For a newbie RUB with a Shovel, they've definitely been good to me!" - JR 7/01 |
| Frank's Place Spearfish | "From the owner to the counter guy to the wrenches, these guys do whatever it takes to get you running right now. Reasonable labor rates, basic parts inventory on hand - if not, 1 or 2 days and they get what you need. They also build really sharp custom bikes." - LC 12/01 |

"When leaving our hotel in Deadwood to head back to FL I noticed my voltmeter was reading pretty low. We were already out of town, so we turned around to get back near civilization. Well, on the way down the hill back into town my bike died in the parking lot of Hillside Cycles. It was Sunday, so no one was around, they were finally able to take some time off and do a little riding themselves after having been slammed with work all week. I left a note with the bike and went back to the hotel we had been staying at. The owner called me when he got the note. I told him what happened and he said he'd get on it first thing Monday after getting some paperwork outta the way, and said if I could get the key to him so he could move the bike inside. I told him the bike was our only transportation, and he said no problem, I'll send my wife for the key. I talked to him Monday morning and he said he was just finishing up his paperwork and would be starting on the bike in a few minutes. After breakfast I tried calling back, but got no answer. Come to find out he had the bike diagnosed and closed the shop so he could go to Sturgis to pick up parts for my bike. He charged us exactly what the Stealer in Sturgis charged for parts because he told me they won't give him a discount, and he didn't feel right charging me more than what I could have bought the parts from Harley myself. He charged me $10.00 for a parts run, which I thought was more than reasonable. He had us back on the road by 3PM Monday. What a super guy, and super service. I would recommend Hillside Cycles to anyone in the Deadwood area for service or a breakdown." - KO 09/02 |
