"I would push broken down bike by than go inside and buy part to fix it.
Website lists the following: Financing up to 9 years with simple interest.
Zero down. No penalty for early pay off. Interest rate based on credit
rating. Bike prices are rather high (of course, all H-D are pricey). 2001
Fatboy running $21K - $22K (c'mon.....). Well, in Feb. 2000 I tried to buy
bike from them because friend bought 1 with nothing down and less than
perfect credit. Called these folks and filled out paperwork over phone.
They called me back and told me I was approved for a 2001 FXDL for a
little over $17K BUT they needed $3K down (because I had less than perfect
credit also). Plus interest rate of around 18%(see note about rate based
on credit rating). Asked girl how it was possible for me to buy a $26K van
less than 6 months before with 0 down and get rate a LOT lower than 18%.
Was given spiel about how bike is luxury item and the criteria for lending
is different. Well, went to Cycle Exchange in Roswell, GA next week,
bought 1995 FXDSC for $1K down and interest less than Capital Thunder.
Since traded it in on 2001 FLHR (0 down - 11% rate)." - NE 11/01 "Everyone is so quick to make harsh comments about after market dealers. I have had experience with several of our local "certified" dealers and with after-market dealers, including our most prominent after-market dealer, Capital Thunder. I have to say I have enjoyed dealing with Capital Thunder more than any other dealer I have been to. Their staff has on numerous occassions gone out of their way to help me. I have recommended all of my friends and family to their establishment. I personally have bought several bikes from them. Yes their prices are higher than MSRP but that is something you have to expect from an after-market dealer. They don't buy at the same price the certified dealers do. They also have 50 or more bikes in stock at any given time ready for delivery. You won't find that at most dealers, especially certified dealers. They let you sit on the bikes and they really want your business. To me that is important. It isn't like going into a certified dealer were all the bikes are pre-sold and they don't care if you are there to get on the list or not. As far as the financing goes I financed my first motorcycle through them and received 108 month financing at 9.99% $0 down. Now my brother, who had a bankruptcy, was also able to get financing through them as well (when everyone else turned him down) and it was at a substantially higher interest rate with money down. If you know anything about financing, motorcycles and boats are considered luxury items and banks are more particular on financing them. I'm sure there are special qualifications on what it takes to get 108 month financing. Im sure a finance co. isn't going to be willing to take the same risk on my brother as they would me. Anyway, I highly recommend going down to Capital Thunder and meet the people before forming an opinion about their shop. They are wonderful people to deal with, and they really seem to appreciate your business. -AK 08/02 |
| BJ's Specialties Merrells Inlet, SC | "This note is to inform any and all potential buyers of BJ's Specialties all chrome Air Horns for Harley Davidson, I purchased a set less than two months ago, soon after they were installed, one of the horns quit working. After several attempts to correct the problem with BJ's Specialties I found out they want to sell me more parts to make their product work. Beware, their ad states that they have an 18 month warranty on their products. Believe me when I tell you, the warranty is their choice and applied only as advertising and sells. Not product support. Why not find out for yourself. Buy any product from BJ's especially the Air Horns they peddle, they might work, they might not. The so called 18 month warranty might be good or it might not. Expect the later....good luck." - NB 06/02 |
| Moonlite Cycles Spartanburg. SC | "These guys are awesome too deal with. I am from the North and have visited these folks, and found out what Southern hospitality is all about. I wish we had shops as good as this one in New York. These guys love what they do and that is why they do it so well. Thanks and keep up the good work!" - CT 01/03 |
| DC Cycles Lancaster, SC | "This is an independent shop that does a great job. They are fair and honest with their pricing and do a great job getting your bike in and out on time. They have a nice selection of aftermarket pieces and will order anything you need. They treat all riders with respect no matter what you are riding." - GH 04/03 |
