"This is a "grey market" independent dealer who buys new and slightly used Harleys from brokers or other dealers out of state and sells them in the KC area at about $5000 over MSRP.  This store is cashing in and taking advantage of the market here in KC. Do yourself a favor and buy at closer to MSRP from where they buy their bikes. Bypass these "Stealer" middlemen. They do have a decent clothing section upstairs and a few accessories. Their service prices are a little higher than the local authorized H-D shops." - SM 8/01

"It seems even the independents here in the KC area think they are part of the big 3 stealers from around here. I have been riding and wrenching Harleys since the mid 70's and the decline of ethics, and pride in workmanship has dwindled into a very sad state. There are virtually NO shops in the greater KC area that can be trusted. They are ALL rip off artists and care about nothing but the almighty dollar, Brotherhood is an unheard of word with these people that is thrown around very loosely. Guess I am just going to have to break down and open my own shop and treat people with the same respect and dignity that I expect to get." - JB 10/01

"This shop is one of the worst I personally have experienced. The owner and mechanics have to be some of the worst in town. I had some motor work performed here and have regretted it ever since. I now have a 3 year old Evo that is probably going to end up needing a total rebuild because of their incompetence. I have given them the chance to make this right and have been given nothing but a run around or a half hearted attempt at making this right. I think 3 times performing the same job should be chance enough to get it right. I am not the only person here that feels this way. There is a huge customer base that is very unhappy with the service they have received. And I know they have lost a great deal of respect due to this treatment." - EH 10/01
Dan's Cycleworks
Liberty, MO
"This is the worst shop in the KCMO area. I gave him my bike in January '03 for a top end overhaul. After months of the shop doing nothing I finally got it back in March, I took it back 3 times for base & head gasket leaks & excessive smoking. The shop owner repeatedly promised to get it right. It seemed ok finally in April. On a road trip to Arkansas it blew the base & head gaskets again. The HD dealer in Springfield Mo. tore it down & discovered  both cylinders had been ruined by grinding off the old gaskets with what appeared to be a dremmel tool & nothing had been torque to anywhere near specs. 1 of the head bolts he took off without a wrench. I had to buy new cylinders & pistons since Dan's had ground the originals .05 over. When I talked the owner of Dan's he promised reimbursement but still has failed to pay anything. " - TA 06/03

"In the past month I have visited numerous so called motorcycle dealers. All of them were stealers and I about gave up until I saw an ad in a county blurb for a sporty just like I was looking for. I called and they said yes they had it and I could come and look at it. Anyway, I got a great deal on a sporty. The bottom line is, these people are super, and they love motorcycles. They do a lot of work on the older Harleys and are NOT the pretentious sales people you meet at the Harley Dealerships. It is a good place to do business and it has the ambience that the factory stores had up until they became clothing stores.  Even though I have to drive 130 miles to get to them, they will have all my business. They give good discounts on Factory stuff and better discounts on the aftermarket accessories. Trustee's is the bikers bike shop." - PB 12/01

This is a small in home shop run by an old school wrench that believes in
personal service. The owner has done numerous repair and customization work for me on my 96 Heritage and I have been very pleased with the results. Now I just have to save enough money so I can have him build my traditional shovelhead chopper for me." - LM 03/02

"This is a big car dealer that also sells bikes and repairs them  in a
different building on the property. They are HIGH on all of his Bikes, BUT, the shop can't be beat, had some cam and head work done last fall, this spring the rear rocker box started to leak well away from the 90 day warranty on repairs.  called their shop and spoke with the parts man Mark, no problem, he put me thru to the mechanic that did the work once more, no problem, we worked on it, bring it in and we will fix it.  Took Bike back on Sat, was ready on Tuesday, No charge...hard to beat em." - VW 04/04

"GREAT!  That is all I can really say.  The best prices in the area - blew area dealers out of the water on super clean low mile bikes.  Also saw some of the coolest looking custom built bikes I have seen in a while - refreshing to actually see something different and not mass produced!  Service shop looked great and hear good things.  Real friendly folks.  Wish more shops were like this." - BC 09/05
