"No other input on this dealer, so I don't know any of
the past experiences. The only input I have is my nephew is a mechanic
there and he's the best there is. He's Harley Certified, MMI Graduate." -

"I've used them to perform routine maintenance on my
bike. I like the quality of work and knowledge of the individuals there.
Also like the fact I can be there in the shop to see the work done and ask
questions and get them answered with no b.s." - DB 02/02 "I'd seen
the quality of work In-Town Cycles & Scooters of Atlanta did for a friends
bike. I scheduled an appointment with In-Town Cycles to have them
properly set up my bike after a local dealer installed hotter cams,
replaced the INA bearings, and re-jetted the carb. The bike had been set
up way too rich. In-Town Cycles replaced the cv carb slide, MoCo dealer
installed jets, and pulled other general maintenance the dealer had
overlooked. Now my bike runs like a scalded dog! I definitely plan on
being a repeat customer in the future. I recommend In-Town Cycles without
reservation. Great people with deal with." - BP 05/02 |

"This is an excellent shop with experienced mechanics
providing quality services at competitive prices. After trying other
"dealers" in the area, this is the only shop I use for service or repair
on my Road King. Bottom line, you will be treated as you the customer
should. Bottom line, you can trust this shop completely." - FT 01/04
"I have been to this shop twice recently and I'm glad I found them. So far
they have done good work for a good price and they don't keep your bike
forever. Their labor charge is less than most. Work quoted at $300 at
another shop was done for $175 by these guys and on top of that they did
it while I waited (30min.). Their prices on parts and accessories appear
to be pretty reasonable as well. It's a bit of a drive for me (30 miles)
but so far it has been worth it." - RF 06/05
"They have taken care of my Harleys for over 25 years. Quality of their
labor is top notch, at below average pricing. Parts pricing is quite
reasonable also. Southern Cycle has been under the same managing, owner
now for over 30 years so you can always count on their knowledge of V-twin
motorcycles." - SR 05/07 |

"I found out about this shop through a friend of mine
after going to the "authorized dealer" in town which charged me $65 an
hour just to look at bike. Anyway, I had to replace my starter on my '99
Custom Fatboy and get oil changed, outer primary seal fixed and a fuel
leak stopped. The owner replace the seal, put in a new jet, changed the
oil, installed the starter, filled the tank and even cleaned the bike all
for just $100 labor. The only part I paid for was the new starter. It is
a small shop but very honest people. Stop by and just BS with them.
Garage is open to anyone. Recommend to anyone." - DM 02/05
"Many people in town recommended Country to me. I must say I was not sure
honest mechanics still exist, but they do at Country's cycle. They service
I received was extremely nice, courteous, and priced very fairly. They
have all my business from now on." - RS 06/05
"I have been going to County for a few years. I recommend him to anyone
who asks where is a good shop. Great folks there at County's. they will
always do you right." - MG 12/06 |
Hog Heaven
Columbus, GA

"I have a 3 page letter explaining item by item in full
detail our numerous complaints with Hog Heaven in Columbus, Georgia, (all
from purchasing one Harley Davidson from them on March 10, 2006)
complaints including, misleading advertising, improper and unethical
selling practices, non-delivery of goods and services promised, product
misrepresentation, un-honored guarantees and warranty, unsatisfactory
service, violation of The Truth In Lending Act, among other things
associated with our one nightmarish ordeal with this business. Due to
space constraints its impossible to elaborate on each individual
complaint. And these are all from just one bad buying experience.
Believe me, there will never be a second one. We felt that our ordeal
with these guys was so bad we had to file complaints with the Better
Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission among other consumer
protection agencies. No one should have to experience what we had to go
through. They got their money and now they refuse to deal with us. And
the issues remain unresolved." - DS 04/06 |

"Advertised as the "Real Bikers Shop", don't waste your
time. Had a rear tire replaced on a trip outta town. Rude and acted if it
was my privilege to have them work on my bike. Jacked the bike up using a
floor jack on the jiffy stand and scratched my rear pulley up in the
process to boot. Charged me 200.00 for this on a Dyna. Would of paid much
less at the dealer. If that's "Real Bikers" count me out!" - AJ 11/01 |

"Many billet barges on the floor. They did have
what I wanted parts-wise when I wanted it, however after 2 recent
incidents I will not go there even though they are less than 2 miles
from the house. 1) A friend of mine was in town recently and when we
went there she wanted to purchase some lube for her primary. The early
20's parts dude refused to sell her the tranny lube she wanted for her
primary stating that she couldn't use it for that, even though she told
the kid she had been using it for that longer than he had been alive. 2)
When I recently took in my front wheel to have a tire installed that I
had ordered from them, they charged me labor and parts when they broke a
bolt getting my rotor off to pack bearings and replace seals. (I
replaced my 21" laced with a 19" cast which required a spacer
block for the rotor.) When I approached the owner/manager about this
charge, he refused to remove it blaming me for the bolt breaking and
stating that he had to charge for his wrenches time for whatever the
reason. I have heard other horror stories about this shop but that would
be hear-say. I will go 20-40 miles out of my way to patronize any of 3
bud's shops but will not step foot back in SKS." - RS 7/01 "I
have been in and out of SKS for over 3 years and find them to be
reasonable on pricing (will discount if you ask), and honest on the labor.
The wrench told me how install my own main jet and save time and money cuz
it ain't real hard (I never tried before...it was real easy). When I have
taken my scoot in they treat it and me with respect because they know it
works both ways. Good place to hang and shoot the breeze and learn if you
need to. Owner is a little aloof but he's gotta make a living. Has done me
favors that he should have charged me for. That means something to me. I
have seen him try to work out problems with unhappy customers, but some
people just are not going to be happy no matter what." - RW 11/01 |

"Excellent source for antique/restoration parts to
fit H-D's from 190? to present. Many NOS and top quality reproduction
parts. Service is top notch, but the waiting list is about 2 years for
restoration work. The owner is a factory trained mechanic, since 1965,
an ex-flat track racer, and is very knowledgeable on all models. I
highly recommend Old Dude." - DJ 8/01 |

"On a recent trip I used the last of my front brake
pads on the way into Savannah, Ga. Since they are PM brakes, there is no
point in calling the local Harley dealer. I called a couple of the
locally listed after market shops, & John's V-Twin Cycle Shop was the only
one that even offered a chance of help. When we located them at 77
W. Fairmont Ave. we found a neat, well stocked shop run by Mr. John Boaen.
We were helped by William, one of his tech's. William found us the brake
pads, let me choose whether to put them on myself (I did), or have them do
it. He made available any tools I didn't have with me, used his grinder
to improve the fit of the back plates, & in general was friendly,
courteous, & helpful. The parts were fairly priced, the shop was clean &
well stocked, & everyone there was friendly & helpful. If you need parts,
or repairs on the road anywhere near Savannah, Ga. I can't imagine a
better place than John's V-twin Cycle Shop." GJ 9/01 |

"Best prices on tires in the South. They can get tires
for any bike you have. The owner goes out of his way to make you feel
welcomed and he really seems to appreciate your business. Not like some
of the local Harley shops." - DF 06/06 |

"I traded in a used Sportster for a Deluxe and it took
this outfit two months to pay my trade off and cost me an additional
payment and late fee. I had to make numerous phone calls and finally a
personal visit in order to get them to finally pay my bike off, plus pay
more money. I cannot recommend them and have even filed a complaint with
the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs. They did finally pay it off
but I would not trust Tom McDaniel, the owner, or Steve Breeze the sales
manager, to ever want to do business there again. They also own Hog
Heaven in Columbus, GA." - KW 07/07 |

"Went down to buy some LED lights for my 95 FXDSC
(bought from Cycle Exchange) and was sitting on Fat Boy. Wife loved it and
wanted to trade. A little over $20K. I told her that I'd rather have the
2001 RK they had which was about $800 more but already had windshield and
hard bags. So we traded. Salesman was great. I bought a backrest, sissy
bars & side rails which I was going to install myself when they came in.
No problem (or so I thought). Realized that I had wrong side rails for
bike when trying to put on so I decided to contact them and let them
install. Took bike in (I was late for appointment, sorry about that).
Tried to tell them 3 times that the side rails were not for my bike.
People kept saying they had cross referenced and it was correct part (no,
it wasn't). They installed. I went to pick up bike and the side rails
don't allow me access to valves for air shocks on bike. I was upset.
Here's what I was told: 1. You don't really have to worry about the shocks
as they are set from factory. Then why have air shocks? And what about
when I ride 2-up? 2. We can get an adapter for you and install that. At
$50/hr labor? Why, when the part is wrong one? 3. Get someone with a
grinder to make a groove. No, it's wrong part and I ain't gonna do that.
4. Just remove back 2 bolts, loosen front 2 and raise sissy bar and put
air in shocks. Why do I have to this when the wrong part was mounted? With
this the manager walked away and didn't want to talk. Needless to say,
they haven't seen any more of my business and I have spent about another
$700 on other things (seat, chrome, and I ain't done yet)." - NE 10/01
"I cannot say enough good things about their service department. I was on
a road trip and developed oil leaks at the rocker box bolt heads on my S&S
motor on my FXR. They asked where my trailer was (jokingly) and I told
them I rode it all the way from Florida so I could leak oil on their
pavement. They let us pull the bike in, and they had all the parts needed
and it was ready in 2 1/2 hours including a bath. The guys there are very
knowledgeable and professional and I would recommend them to ANYONE!" - LS
