EASTSIDE H-D
Bellevue, WA

"Ordered 1999 FLHT February 1999, delivery was 5/14/99.   I paid 15,800 (with spoke wheels)  - approx. $2,400 over MSRP.   Offers HOG discount on 1st Saturday - in stock parts only" - MH 8/99

"1999 FXDWG: $18,600 for black$1000, refundable deposit." - PL 1/00

"This dealership is more a gift shop / latte stand than a bike shop. They prefer not to do business with "greasy biker types." That seems to include anyone that works on their own bike. I have been a member of the HD community in Seattle for several years and have never heard one good word about their parts dept. or [and most particularly] their service dept. This doesn't seem to extend to sales, however. I don't hear many "how I got shafted at Eastside" stories. They are presently going through some ownership changes and hopefully that will bring with it some long overdue management changes. A lot of us have been driving past them to go to another store for a long time." - DC 7/01

"Great people, fine store. I have all of my service done at the dealer. Eastside Harley is located not far from Seattle. There are 4 major dealers in the area. New motorcycles all sell well over MSRP. At least 2K to 4K depending on model. Who knows, maybe more depending on the time of year. The market is dictating value in the Seattle area at this time. All and all, a good place to shop if price doesn't bother you." - MW 4/02

"Bought a Low Rider for my wife, December 2002 at MSRP. This was the second year for their end of year MSRP sale. I dealt with James Lee and he was a superb well informed salesperson. I would deal with him today. The service department seems competent, but pricey. Parts folks are friendly, but they could use some additional training." - GR 08/03

"My experience was a bit different.  Eastside Harley-Davidson has two outlets (now 3 with the new Bellevue Square Mall Clothing Store).  Their Eastside Shop was the one I went to in June of 2001.  I met with the Sales Manager and discussed what I was looking for (a round town kind of bike) and ended up with a Beautiful 2001 XLC.  We added several options (bags, windshield, etc) and I picked it up 4 days later.  I’ve found since that the price was OK, but a little high.  The service on the other hand is outstanding (at the shop, I can’t speak to the Dealership in Bellevue).  Mike G. is the only guy I’ll let touch my bike there so far and he’s done some great repairs (because of idiots dislodging wires when mounting tires) and my first few services.  Since then I’ve done the rest.  They’re first class in my book." - RL 10/03

"I bought a 1996 FXDS-Conv over a year ago from Eastside Harley. During the purchase everything was great. I wanted to change from a 2 into 1 Vance & Hines to a twin Vance system. This is where the problem starts. I bought the exhaust installed it myself. Bike runs great. But while riding 300 miles later the baffle on one side blew out. after making the trip down for the meet and greet with Arlen Ness, I asked the parts dept. about replacing the baffles (I now needed two of them because they had me punch the other out for pressure). After one week of waiting I called to ask, I was told that Vance & Hines would not warranty the baffles, if I wanted I could either call them directly or come in to buy another new Exhaust. I had explained while I was there that I wanted to buy another bike and keep my current one. When I mentioned that again I was told that it didn't matter to them. They were real busy and could not help me out. It seems as though they do not want to really help anyone after the original sale is made. (almost makes you want a Honda again, even though I never would)" - DS 07/05

BELLINGHAM H-D
Bellingham, WA

"$500 nonrefundable deposit for a black '99 FXDWG, delivery in 7/1 available at $17925, NO charge for setup/prep/handling." -PL 1/00

"Great sales.  Straight to the point and no hogwash, excuse the pun.  I asked the questions and got straight answers, therefore they got a sale.  I ended up purchasing a 2003 Heritage Softail. Nuf said." - JK 04/03

SKAGIT H-D
Burlington, WA
"In February of 2002,  I shopped at every dealer in the Puget Sound (Skagit to Olympia) for a 2002 FLHR, and found that Skagit H-D was the most customer friendly, offered the best trade in value, and best price on a new bike. Although I live over a hundred miles away they made it well worth my time and travel, to purchase a new bike from their dealership. Their service dept. performed some major upgrades to the bike at my request, and after 16,000 miles the bike still runs and handles perfectly. These folks all went out of their way to provide the "best bang for my buck"  On the road to Milwaukee the bike ate Screaming Eagle Road Kings like they were stock twin cams." - DD 10/03

"I arrived at Skagit HD on Monday morning about 9:00am on July 19, 2004, with a problem with my 2004 fltri, [seems as if previous dealership in southern CA failed to fill my transmission after changing clutch cable]. Skagit got me right in and up on the lift, pulled drain plug from transmission no fluid, then pulled transmission and accessed damage. indicated that I needed a new one. I personally contacted southern CA dealer to tell them of the problem which of course they denied it was their fault. then I contacted Baker transmission of MI, they shipped new transmission to Skagit HD overnight and I was on the road by close of business on 7/20/04." - LG 11/04

DESTINATION H-D
Fife, WA
"Went to Destination H-D this past Saturday.  I was shopping for a new FXD. They had two stock 2002 FXD's (one in black, one in red) on the floor. After discussing buying a bike for about 30 minutes, the salesman told me I could take an FXD home for $18,000.  I wish I was sitting down.  I've seen other dealers in the area advertise the same bike for $14,500 (which translates to $16,000 after taxes and destination).  The folks at Destination were friendly and helpful but, holy cow, the price hurts." - WE 04/02

"A year ago I began my search for a new bike, the last was in 1974. I hit most of the dealerships in the Seattle area. I had been talking to a salesman at Destination H-D in Tacoma and was about to leave when he said "No matter where you buy your bike come back and join our activities."  I did go back, many times and found that they do not forget their costumers after the deal has closed. We wanted a 2002 Springer Softail and dealing with Destination was a pleasure. They came down on their asking price, had to hunt the bike down and trade another dealer for it, then got it right into their shop and ready for us to pick up. I drive truck for a living and have been waiting a lot of years until I could buy another Harley so price and future service means a lot. I know that I have found both here and if I have a problem the owner is always walking the floor making sure you are being treated right." - CM 06/02

"I bought a Heritage Calssic from this shop in April of this year and I can tell you that even though the price is a little on the high side, (as with all HD's) the sales, service and  presintation is fantastic. I live right by Northwest HD in Olympia, Wa. and tried my best to justify giving the local shop my hard earned dollars. There was just no way. After being treated the way I was at Northwest and then at Destination, it was  worth the money. Destination knows their stuff and there is always something going on the on the weekends. Destination rocks!" - RW 06/02

"Out for a ride on a Sunday afternoon, with my riding club. At a stop light, clutch cable broke. I idled my way to the dealer (about 6 miles). It was the last day of my one year warranty. I was fixed and on the road in 90 minutes. No charge. No hassles. The salesperson and he follows through, no B.S. A little over MSRP but worth it for the fine aftercare. Highly recommended." - JB 12/04

"Riding through Washington on a cross country trip, I had the misfortune to have a flat on a Sunday. The nearest dealership with a service dept open on Sundays was Destination H-D. I called to make sure it was OK to haul the bike to them to fix the flat, but they said they couldn't get to it until tomorrow even through the shop was still open for a few hours. I explained I was in the middle of a trip, and stranded, but to no avail. "Sorry, we can't help you" was the only reply. Not being able to fit a simple flat tire into their schedule isn't what I consider good service, and certainly not from a dealership with supposed service awards. "Thanks for nothing" was my only response." - WG 03/05

"2000 pearl FXDWG: $18,635; two-tone:

"Shirt's decided no HOG discount? Not sure about Local Chapter Discount, Was asked if I was local Chapter First. Then told No Discount.  Are there any dealers left honoring the Nat'l. Hog 10% discount?" - M J 5/00

"On 8/12/01 my cam bearing went at about 4:30 in the afternoon in 100 degree heat 75 miles from Shumate. Within 1 1/2 hrs, they had a truck and trailer to pick me up and the service manager and mechanic were waiting for us when we got there. Of course they were closed on Sun and Monday but both gentlemen came in on their day off on Sunday and had me on my way by 2:00.  No charge (warranty) You can't beat that kind of service. Thanks guys" - VS 8/01
NORTHWEST H-D
Lacey, WA

"Strolled into Northwest H-D looking for a bike walked around for 20 min (no other people were around to help) and got lots of looks but NO help whatsoever guess I didn't look like a buyer (but I was) the salesman  I saw did a good job of warming his chair  absolutely NO help! I did buy some apparel some Very nice lady's helped me in the clothing section by the way! I also thought it was a fluke till I had my wife call to ask for a price quote for a Sporty for her she got told well between 10 and 16K Large and I've sadly seen regular Models/Bikes there at 3000+ over MSRP no add-ons just plain stockers! Steer well clear Bros!" - TP 10/01

"Salesman that sold me my new 2001 Sporty 1200C was great to work with and has been very helpful and responsive. That's the good news. My salesman was off the day I picked up my bike, and I was told by his coworker that they couldn't sell me the bike I picked out, put a down payment on and had loaded with options, for the price I was quoted. He tried to get me to accept a lesser, stripped down bike for the money I had agreed to. Felt like serious bait and switch. When I got assertive they did the deal, but it was one of the worst retail experiences of my life. Parts department ordered the wrong battery cover four times. I finally found the part I had waited three months for on the shelf. Service dept has been underwhelming as well. Be advised." - SG 02/02

"NW Harley has an excellent parts and service department, but prices on new and used scooters are very, very high.  They work on any Harley, though: I bought my FLHTC at a now defunct shop in nearby Lacey.  They have always treated me like people, but when my tranny went down, it cost over $2,000.00 to fix it, and I could have done it for $300.00.  But as they were already inside the tranny, it was too late to back out, pay up and smile. So, I do most of my own work (all my routine maintenance) and buy leathers, parts, etc at NW Harley. But in all truth, I often drive a little further to Destination Harley and other shops. Caveat Emptor!" - MD 03/02

"Without a doubt the worst parts department I've ever encountered in 30+ years of riding.  Tried to buy a starter solenoid, and they kept trying to give me a relay instead, and even argued with me that the problem was my relay.  Tried to buy the 'Eagle Iron' advance unit (timer assy.) and they tried to tell me it doesn't exist.  I had to show them where it was in their own catalog, and they had it in stock.  I've heard them argue with a customer that Harley has never used a throttle that only had one cable. When they moved into their new shop at Hawk's Prairie, the very same bikes that were for sale in their old Cooper Point Road location (priced well above MSRP) magically increased in price by hefty margins.  I'd recommend either Columbia H-D in Vancouver or Skagit H-D in Burlington. They sell for MSRP, and know what they are talking about.  These people are unfamiliar with what they sell, and they try to sell everything way overpriced - like $10 oil filters." - BF 06/03

"Visit weekly. Dealership always clean and inviting. I am always treated with courtesy when I visit, and am never annoyed by over zealous sales staff. Motorclothes is exceptional and the service within the department far surpasses any other dealership I visit, especially Destination. I wouldn't shop anywhere else." - JT 10/05
H-D OF SEATTLE
Lynnwood, WA

"Showroom '00 FXD for MSRP + $2300 - SJ 1/00

"Do Not buy a motorcycle from these guys!  Prices are way too high.  When asked why they wouldn't sell for MSRP, was told that then I could turn around and sell the bike for more than they could, and they would prefer to pocket the extra cash.  Was just looking at Sporties, of which they had a ton of.  Wound up purchasing a used XLH1100, that was represented as a 'mechanically sound' bike.  Got it home, never started again!!  $1350 later to replace the entire charging system...still fighting over the damaged cases and tranny bearings.  Buyer Beware...they do not stand behind what they sell!" - LA 8/01

"March of 02 I bought an FLHT from HD of Seattle.  I put 1000 miles on it and took it back to them to have the service done (after I did the service my self, minus the steering head adjustment and belt drive adjustment, after buying and according to the manual and the few required HD tools I didn't have).  I should have listened to myself and the advice from the people on Harley Tech about not taking the bike to the stealer to have work done if you could do it yourself.  Thinking warranty I go back to the stealer for the 1000 mile $300.00 oil change.  While I'm waiting there a guy pulls back into the parking lot with his 1000 mile old Road King that was COVERED in oil after he JUST LEFT.  The next day I check the belt tension with my HD gauge and they DIDN'T adjust it even though the service invoice said the belt was in the specs.  I don't jump the gun so I checked my gauge and belt with gaug! es from two small independent Harley mechanics and one from the service dept. from a big dealer close to my home.  They all read the same as mine so HD of Seattle either didn't really check the tension, or did and didn't bother to adjust it and wrote down it was within specs.  Before I could call them and tell them about it and write a letter to HD, I was hit by a car and laid up but will now be writing them and HD a letter." - AB 07/02

"Contacted Cycle Barn in Lynnwood, Washington regarding a Demo 2002 Road King. I was told they had one only in stock and they would sell it to me for $16,999 plus freight, set up, sales tax and license. My wife and I drove our 2001 Sporster we were going to use as a trade in from Olympia to Cycle Barn to look at trading and buying the Road King (it is a 2 hour drive from Olympia). We get to the dealership and the salesman said that the other salesman quoted us the wrong price and the bike would be $19,349 plus tax etc. And also that they would give us $5,500 for our trade in. We discussed this and were upset so told them we would have to sleep on it. The next day I told them we were quoted $16,999 and that was what we should pay. He said they could sell to us for $16,999 plus $395.00 for wheels and give us $5,000 for our trade instead of the $5,500 we were promised the night before. These people give a whole new meaning to the expression (scientist are using salesman for experiments instead of rats because they found stuff rats would not even do), we would have bought the bike if they would have only been honest to us, even if the price was a bit higher than they promised. Stay away from this dealership unless you are a yuppie looking to pay top dollar to impress your friends. That seems to be more important to them than their word." - DG 08/02

"Watch out for the "Business Office" scam and setup. After you agree on price, the salesman will set you up for the finance scam by casually mentioning the H-D extended warranty is a good idea and if you include it in your loan with the dealer, the % rate is lowered enough to cover the cost and "your payment will only be a few dollars more". The Business Manager or F&I saleswoman lays out three loaded payments, one huge one loaded with prepaid maintenance, warranty and credit life and disability, the next one without credit life and dis., and the last one with only the warranty. Of course the base payment is left out with just the purchase amount. She then avoids the actual base payment by dismissing the question with "its only a few dollars more". When I checked the actual figures on my $10,000.00 loan, the payment dropped over $20.00 a month! Not a few dollars. Beware of this scam. These people are dishonest and cheat buyers." - RB 06/05

"Just bought a 2005 RK from them. Always have had older bikes.  To begin with they one of the most knowledgeable parts dept. around. In the last couple months there has been a \"sales dept. restructuring\", new GM, and new sales management. Sales attitude was completely changed, I feel that I got a good deal (I\'m not new to this, this is my 3rd Harley in over 30 years). A friend bought a 2006 last month and not one other dealer could come close to their price. It would be worth the time to give them a look, any type of reputation is hard to overcome but these guys are trying. It never hurts to look, it doesn't cost a dime." - MR 10/05

DOWNTOWN H-D
Seattle, WA
"Just bought an FXDX from these guys.  I drove to every Harley shop within a 1.5 hour radius of Tacoma and called all those within a 4 hour drive from Tacoma (excluding the dealerships in Oregon).  The dealership in Wenatchee had the best "opening offers" for price negotiations on the bikes they had available.  Problem was they didn't have very many bikes.  Downtown H-D had lots of bikes and were willing to match the offers I had from other dealers. I ended up buying a new FXDX.  I got them down to about $1000 over list price.  The folks I worked with were friendly but firm in their negotiations.  For this bike, at the time I bought it, I don't think I could have gotten a better deal.  Their parts and service folks seem knowledgeable.  This place is worth checking out." - WE 04/02

"Not the best experience at a dealer I have had.  I have been in 3 different times, and all 3 times I received poor (if any) service.  I looked at new bikes on the showroom floor and finally got sick of waiting for help and left.  Also, their parts department seemed lacking in inventory.  The only time I was ever offered help was in the clothing section, which has the standard fare of overpriced H-D leathers and clothes.  Dealer seemed to cater more towards business types than a guy in work clothes like me." - SS 12/02

"I brought my bike to Down Town HD to have my frame raked.  I went in to pick it up but it wasn't finished.  Instead, I saw my gas tank (with 20 coats of custom black lacquer and pearl designs), sitting on the floor on a towel near a sand blasting cabinet, with a great big chunk out of the finish.  I couldn't believe it but the paint chip (which was more than a quarter inch) was actually laying on the floor next to the tank.  It was pretty clear what had happened when someone went up to use the sand blast cabinet, and disconnected the air hose; and they tossed it on the floor nearly hitting my tank a second time. The fabricator at Downtown HD actually looked me in the eye an told me it was that way when I brought it in.  Did I mention that the brand-new 4" over fork tubes they installed were all scratched up? I'd have to hate someone a lot to ever send them there.  STAY AWAY." - JE 10/05

DESTINATION H-D
Silverdale, WA
"I just purchased a 2004 FXDI from Destination HD.  I bought it for MSRP + a reasonable setup and published freight.  The entire process was a good experience. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a Harley." - DG 02/04

"Bought a 2004 FLSTCI here in July.  Had MANY visits to the store, and was always treated courteously, and without any pressure.  It took some persistence, but ended up getting the bike I wanted for MSRP.  Sales staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.  Took the bike in for 1000 mile check, and found the maintenance people to be very cooperative  - got the bike done in about 4 hours, after explaining I had to wait - no ride home. Great shop - highly recommended." - MB 08/04

"I have bought two bikes from these fine people and would recommend them to anybody who wants not only a quality bike but a good atmosphere for riding.  They are always busy on the weekends with charity rides and great events welcoming all sorts of people.  Their shop maintains about ten mechanics and I have never seen less than 25 bikes being worked on furiously when I've been there.  My 02 Sportster 883 for my wife and my 06 FHLTI Electra Glide Standard (which is with me in Missouri now) both miss Destination HD!" - MF 09/05

LATUS MOTORS H-D
Spokane, WA
"$17,510 for 2-tone 99 FXDWG." - PL 1/00

"99 Springer (Black) $1715 over MSRP, (Pearl) $2790 over MSRP.  500 mile service and nothing else. No deposit, more bikes on floor without a wait, certain times of the year. Things change, later that year Latus came down 500 bucks on the pearl model Springer." - Q 1/00

"Recently bought a Sportster from dealer.  They were very easy to deal with and came down on price to a little above MSRP.  Clean, well equipped service area.  They even delivered bike to my home." - GJ 01/02

"They do have a bunch of bikes on the floor. But take a look at their prices and you'll see why they have so many bikes left unsold on the floor!!! I've been from L.A. to Seattle and have yet to see higher mark-ups on Harleys. You had better be willing to spend some BIG bucks if you come here. A few hours drive will bring you to a dealer in Idaho that is happy to sell for MSRP and not rip you off for as much as they can suck out of your wallet." - RC 03/02

DOWNTOWN H-D

"1999 FXDWG: $17,355 black. $500 nonrefundable deposit." - PL 1/00

"Walked into DTHD to buy a new bike. I am a clean credit history real guy. Could not get any help what so ever. Drove to the nearest competitor walked in, was immediately met by sales staff and wow! I'm riding away on a new bike! Hopefully this is a learning experience for them" - VW 07/05

H-D OF VANCOUVER

"I searched the net for weeks, and I found the best deal at Columbia Motorcycle. I bought a 1999 Softail Custom for MSRP.  They had the lowest prices around.  A Texas dealer said he could beat anyone, but he wanted 3k above MSRP, and Latus Motors in Portland wouldn't give me the time of day. They are a real down home Harley dealer.  The owner is very friendly, makes beer dogs every Saturday for everyone, no charge.  Best parts guys around,  they take there time to get you the right parts.  The service department is very flexible when it comes to walk-ins.  I'm in the process of building a chopper and the are very helpful and understanding to my needs.  If you want to be treated like family, get to know the crew at Columbia." - J 4/00

"This is a great family ran shop in the great H-D tradition. Owned and operated by the same family since it opened in 1945!  The coffee is always on and right along side the home baked goodies by the owner. Service, parts and sales are all great.  Easy to get  to  right off I-5.  I bought my Fatboy two years ago and I have always been pleased with the shop." - DD 6/01

"Have 38 years riding experience on most common types, last 12 on a Harley. I can highly recommend Columbia for fair and honest dealings in service. Recently when the factory refused to warrant a factory defective problem, Columbia's owner stepped up and said that ain't right and took care of me. I bought my bike at Latus, didn't matter to Columbia. Don't pass this one without stopping for a home made cookie and some hot coffee." - RR 06/02

"Very pleased with Service and parts dept.  They did collision repair on my 2000 flht and did a great job.  The service manager worked with my insurance company saving me the hassle and at the same time saving me money.  The parts department always has the parts I need in stock and they give an ABATE discount. This place is heads above the other two dealers in my area." - RS 11/03

"Great folks to work with. I needed a warranty replacement of my gas tank that I didn't purchase from them. They handled the claim very professionally, and had my new tank ready to install in a little over a week. Rode in on a Sat. morning without an appointment, and the new tank was installed in about an hour. Unique service dept., Saturdays are first come first served, no appointments taken. I will gladly do business with them again, and when I'm ready for a new ride, I'll most likely buy from them. They are an MSRP dealer on new bikes." - GM 06/04

"I purchased my Road King from Columbia H-D in Vancouver.  I was treated great.  I called all over the country and did a lot of internet homework.  Another Harley shop told me they couldn't beat the price in Vancouver.  The service was great, the staff there have been very nice and helpful.  I have almost 5000 miles on it and no problems.   Nice shop and great staff too." - LI 11/04

"We rode in from Seattle on a rainy Saturday in March to pick up my brother's new Road King, and it happened to be their Open House weekend.  My 95 Springer developed a stuck starter when it was time to leave, and the service dept. took it right in, took the electrical system apart, tank off, and eventually patched a splice around the starter so I could get home.  Took about 45 minutes of their time, they charged me $15.00 and sent me on my way. A super dealership, the nicest I've encountered in WA.  Even on a busy weekend, they helped out a traveling biker. Great guys!" - GK 05/05

WENATCHEE H-D
Wenatchee, WA
"Since I just purchased my new 2000 FXDS from these people I can tell you they usually sell for 2k over MSRP. Different prices for different folks- cut your own deal and be ready to buy- Money talks and bullshit walks." - RM 9/99

"2000: $17,595 for black FXDWG. First quarter: 2 sold already, don't know about Sept. on.  Nice guy." - PL 1/00

"Service manager Jack had no time for helping a down bro on the road, sent me to Spokane, he had to install blower on sheriff's bike. You know, local politics'. Well if he was any kind of professional, he'd understand. Sales were high too, $21k for a Roadking, virtually zippo for my ann. flhtci(98). - RB 4/00

"I found this dealer helpful, friendly, and very competitive on price. They beat 3 Seattle-Tacoma dealers by an average of $3,000 this winter when I bought my new'01 black FXD. It was worth driving there and trailering it back. I've gotten 2 follow up phone calls, snail mail, and a thank you gift in the mail since my purchase. Would I go back.... you betcha!" - 3/01

"This is one great shop!  I went in to buy a tee-shirt while in Wenatchee on business and noticed a 2003 100th Anniversary Wide Glide sitting there with a tag saying “Lava Rock Ride special: $15995, tax and license”.  It was love at first sight!  I asked how long the sale was on for and was told the tags were to have been pulled yesterday following the ride but since they were still on, that was the price.  I said I wished my wife were there to agree to my buying and they said let’s call her (even though it was long distance).  I asked them to put through the financing with HD and I would be back tomorrow to finish it up.  I came in the next day and the tag was $19250, tax and license but they honored the sale price – all the way to Friday (4 days later) while my better half and I discussed the buy.  Sam, Craig, and all the crew were super and went out of their way to make me feel at home and make the deal work for me. They even found a minor scuff on the gas gauge while prepping the bike and warrantee it right then and there and replaced it with a new one before giving me the bike.  I would go there again in a second for anything and have told all who would listen that it is worth the 150 mile drive to give them your business.  This is what a dealer SHOULD be." - DR 09/03

OWENS H-D

"Had an excellent experience at this dealer. Bought a "program" bike with 9100 miles at 3800 below NADA value. The salesman gave me the 10% discount for accessories. When I got home and discovered there was no owners manual, they sent me a new one free of charge. I was misinformed by a dealer employee as to the color when I was ordering color matched parts. When they showed up in the wrong paint, they took responsibility for the error and correct color parts were immediately reordered with ~zero~ problems. Friendly, fair and responsible. I give this dealer two thumbs up." - JB 05/05
