"WAAAY over list on everything! The other area
dealers are constantly screaming about some of the things they do ...like
selling bikes in the crate...which is supposed to void the warranty."
- TM 9/99 "I went to Liberty my first time back in Oct. 1998. To price a new
FXD they where over $2000.00 MSRP. So I bought my bike somewhere else down
south. In 1999 I took my FXD there to get it serviced because they where
close to me. It took them two days longer then what they said it would. It
was a mess oil was all over the front of the engine, and the Air cleaner
had not been serviced. It took them a whole week before they would
re-service the bike for me. And I was treated very rude. I will never deal
with them again." - DS 6/01
"In April 2001, Liberty HD was the only dealer in Ohio that had the
style and color of the bike I wanted. Because of this, I didn't mind
forking out the extra $2000 over MSRP. The salesman was courteous,
friendly, and knowledgeable. The bike was also delivered to me, free of
charge, over 100 miles away. I have used the 10% discount on parts and
had them shipped to me. Again free of charge. I recommend this dealership
to anyone who doesn't mind spending the extra money for great service." -
BS 9/01
"I bought a new 2002 flhr the first week of Nov. 2001. The price was
actually a little below list. It is a standard road king . The only option
was the teal color. I had this exact bike on order at another dealer for
1000 over list. The other dealer refunded my deposit with no hassle." - RM

"My friend and I purchased two new Fatboys from Liberty in April of '99
and paid 4500 over MSRP. We paid cash for these bikes and were told to
"take it or leave it" by a very rude sales manager. After the purchase we
were treated very poorly, only given a 15 percent discount on parts while
others were getting 20 percent. I only went there for the first servicing
of my bike and was treated like I was the enemy. I had a wide tire kit
installed along with some other accessories and after the job was done
they failed to return the parts that were removed. I was told that they
thought they could keep them? I will never buy anything from them again
which means driving further but worth the aggravation." - BR 04/02
"Dealership offers a military discount and ships to APO/FPO addresses.
That sounds like a small thing but shipping to an APO/FPO requires going
to the post office rather than having UPS make a pick up. Most dealers
are not willing to make the extra effort but Liberty does and they just
charge actual postage-- no additional fees. The parts guy is
knowledgeable and easy to work with. Can't ask for much more." - CR 05/03 |

"The owner is a good man. I've
dealt with em for many years and have been very well treated. Right
now you'll pay about a grand over list, including prep, and $150 freight
(less than HD specs). I bought a '97 FXDWG in Oct. '96 and paid
$500 or $600 over list for it. Came out to around $15,500
before accessories. 3 years and 2 wrecks later, he's giving me
$14,500 in trade and letting me keep most of the accessories, which
(fortunately) will fit my new '00 FXDWG. He could have easily given
me 13,500 in trade and charged me list - same difference. The book
says average retail on a "clean" '97 FXDWG is 14,200. I
expect him to get $15,500, for my '97. I would have sold it for
14,500 and paid several hundred bucks in additional sales tax. I
also get a 10% discount on all purchases (except bikes) as an Athens HOG
member. At our last HOG meeting, Bill donated $500 out of his own pocket
for us to through a fund-raiser Fall Party. My '97 has been in the shop
for a clutch rebuild for about a week so Bill loaned me his new TC-88
Heritage to ride 'til mine is fixed or my new one comes in. I got no
complaints and recommend Athens HD as a 'good' dealer." - BP 8/99 "I have dealt with this dealership for about 2 Yrs.
and have found the not only the sales staff but also the parts and service
depts. to be very knowledgeable on their products. Everyone I have
encountered associated with the dealership professional yet very
personable and almost all are dedicated riders themselves including the
owner. My last bike purchase was a two yr. old Ultra from them and at what
I consider a "can't afford to say no price." They are very
supportive of their local HOG Chapter as well as other causes associated
with motorcycling. My sincere thanks to the owner and staff!" - MT

"Rode with my buddy down to Southeast H-D to drop
off his bike today. he's got a new one on order. He encountered a slight
problem. 3 months ago, he was quoted a trade-in price he was happy with.
Today, the trade-in price magically dropped $2,000, take it or leave it.
Of course, if he had gotten the lower price 3 months ago, he could
have put it in the paper and at least tried to get a fair price. gee, I
wonder if the salesman knew that (the bastard). I'm not against the
stealership making money, but when you tell someone something, you should
stick to it. I know he could have walked away from the deal, but that's
his business, not mine. so here's a tip. when one of these
"salesman" quote you a price on a trade-in, get it in writing or
you may just get shafted. Whatever happened to a man's word meaning anything?" - J 9/99
"Here's the latest poop on Southeast HD, They pre-sell their
expected allocation starting the first of January for that model year,
$1000 deposit required to order. Sell for MSRP with 20% discount on
accessories at time of sale. Local *active* HOG members continue to
receive the discount after the sale. I *thought* I was filling out
paperwork to go on a list last May. Turns out I was going on a list for
bikes that aren't delivered to the original orderer for whatever reason.
One salesman is a schmuck, the other's OK. You decide which is
which. The service department appears to be top notch. Tom, the
asst. service manager goes beyond the call of duty and rectifies that
which isn't right. They moved their shop into the back and it's no longer
visible from the Harley Diner located inside the building." - TL 2/00
"The sales people were very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable.
They sold me a stock Sportster at MSRP. I had a minor issue with the
service department, wrote a letter to the dealer, it went
unanswered." - RB 6/01
"Southeast sells for MSRP, a refundable $500 deposit will get your choice
of
model, color, options, etc. The sales dude treated me A-1 on my
Ultra purchase in Oct. I wanted Vivid Black, no security system, cast
wheels. He changed the order on one expected to ship in 5 weeks to what I
wanted. It never seemed to be inconvenient for him to look up expected
delivery date changes in the computer. They would have had no problem
changing any part of my order at least 30 days in advance of the expected
ship date. Southeast no longer offers an accessory discount, about the
best you'll do is an allowance towards a shirt with your purchase. The
service department had my bike prepped and ready to go the afternoon
after it arrived knowing I had a trip planned. That's about the best I can
say about the Southeast service dept. I went back for a damage estimate a
week after delivery <stuff happens> and they missed a lot of damage
their estimate was about 60% of the $5400 it took to repair the bike at
another dealer. I had a problem with the speedometer that the service
manager wasn't even interested in looking at. I had it repaired under
warranty at another dealer. I'd buy another bike here but won't be taking
anything in for service." - TM 03/05
"My salesperson was very
knowledgeable of the product and took the time to explain the new features
of the 2006 roadglide to me. He was able to get me the EXACT motorcycle I
was looking for and walked me thru the process, I never felt that "buy now
or it will be gone" feeling which I did at other dealerships I shopped at.
NO pressure anytime through the whole deal. After the sale he was there
to answer more of my newbie questions, and has called me several times to
see how things were going. The salesperson ,dealership are top notch." - LL 11/05 "Visited the
store for the first time with my Dad, on a Saturday morning. The first
bike in the doorway was blocking the aisle. We stopped to admire the 05
FLH in Gunmetal grey metallic. A salesman walked up to my Dad (who is 85
yrs young) and said "Don't get any fingerprints on this one, I don't need
to wash it again." Remember, we were 2-3 feet away and only gazing at this
and the 50 other bikes on display. The salesman never said hello, or how
ya doin'. Only acted like a selfish arrogant blowhard. He then turned
around and walked away! A parts counter guy said hello and asked if we
needed anything, and I mentioned our reception from the sales dept. and he
avoided the subject and a response. This is one cold and stale dealership.
It will be the last place I do any business with in the future. I will
tell all my friends in the HOG, ABATE and at all the rides how this
blowhard treated my Dad. My Dad rode Harleys in WW II, and I ride a Super
Glide now. This dealer needs serious customer service training. I
recommend you shop at the other Cleveland area dealers." - RB 12/05 |

"I bought my 2003 FXDL Anniversary bike there in 2004. It
was a year old and they knocked some dough off the price and treated me
extremely well. I see about 5 or 6 years ago they were putting a premium on
all their bikes, not anymore. The last time I asked about a new Softail
Classic the sales manager said MSRP and actual freight no handling. That was
the cheapest price in the greater Cleveland OH area. I guess Harley\'s
aren't as popular as they once were. Liberty also has 12 weekend per year
where they knock off $1000 off MSRP if you buy then. NO ONE ELSE does that."

"Sells FCFS when the bikes hit the floor. They add
numerous accessories to all the bikes. It appears if you have a trade you
may be able to specify accessories and possibly get tipped off on when the
bike is going to hit the floor. They charge 900 bucks freight & setup
on an Ultra....kinda stiff IMO."
- TM 9/99 "I've steered clear of this dealer for years since I
wasn't wild about the way they do business. I had tried to buy 2 previous
bikes there and was unwilling to open my wallet and let them help
themselves. When shopping for a '05 Ultra in Oct. of '04 I decided to give 'em
a call and see if they'd changed their tune at all. I told the salesman I
talked to that I was just about to put my John Hancock on the dotted line
and fork over a deposit at another dealer. Told 'em I was paying MSRP,
actual freight and a reasonable setup charge and I also told him what kind
of trade-in I was receiving on my 2000 Ultra. I was told they were expecting
exactly what I was looking for in a few weeks and to get my carcass down
there with my trade so they could beat the deal! So far, so good. I arrived
to find almost no one that I knew from this dealership was still there in
the 2 years since I'd stopped doing business there. The Parts guy that could
get you things you didn't think were available anymore was long gone. The
long-time Service Manager that was helpful, courteous and knew his stuff was
long gone. The guy that was peddling Motor Clothes and appeared to be a
general go-fer when I bought a helmet from him a couple of years earlier was
now the Sales Manager. Go figger. After looking over my pristine but high
mileage scoot the sales droid and Service Manager disappeared for quite a
while. When the salesman reappeared he seemed almost embarrassed telling me
the trade-in allowance was over $6000 lower than what I told 'em over the
phone I was getting elsewhere. I can't say I was surprised. I was also not
surprised that the Sales Manager hid in his office and refused to show his
face for the rest of the time I was there. Y-town H-D sez they sell for
MSRP. It appears that everything they have on the floor has thousands and
thousands of dollars worth of accessories bolted on and I experienced a
take-it-or-leave it attitude. My personal opinion is that I wouldn't walk
through their door again if my bike was broken down in front of their shop."

"- sells for around $1000 over MSRP, sells from a
list requiring a refundable $1000 deposit to weed out the pretenders.
15% discount on all accessories for 30 days. Sale price includes the first
service involving a full re-torque on all fasteners in addition to the
usual fluid changes. Although they're selling over MSRP it *might* be a
wash if you've got a trade as the numbers we discussed for my potential
trade is a grand more than the other dealers were talkin'. Numerous folks
say Freedom HD is full of good people and they brought that rep with 'em
when they moved to the new facility from their previous location in
Massillon." - TM 10/99 "In calling around on bikes and prices, I found out these guys
only sale to customers within a 60 mile radius of their shop." - RS
4/01
"I was recently told by the sales manager at Freedom, that I'd
have to put down $2000 to be on a list for a 2003 model yr Harley. I've
also talked to other riders that have been going there regularly over the
yrs, that they weren't required to have a deposit to order their new
bike(s). Seems to be a double standard as to whether you're friends
with the sales boss or NOT." - AH 7/01
"Dealt with them for many years. Excellent (the best) parts department
people, fine service department. Good inventory and nice helpful people in
most areas. For last 2 bikes had to go elsewhere. Sales manager would not
deal, and would not even call me when new bikes came in. He told me to
just stop by from time to time." - RW 01/03
"Closest dealership to me, won't buy a bike from them. Small selection,
half are trades, new bikes already have custom parts, not flat stock.
Have gotten good deals on clothing, and parts dept is knowledgeable and
has deals sometimes, but will NEVER go back for service. Went there for
first service after buying my bike at a different dealer because it was
handy. I would have had to pay for first service there anyway, so
convenience was a factor. On the plus side, they did give me a free
chrome swing arm under warranty because the paint was all flaking off the
stock one, and stock ones were on backorder. The negative was, when I got
the bike back after service, it was covered with greasy handprints, from
the oil filter to the gas tank, and back to the swing arm. A friend of
mine had picked up the bike for me because of my work schedule, and he
didn't feel it was his place to complain, but he was shocked as well. I
don't expect them to detail the bike, but at least wipe off the mess you
made! I called afterwards to complain, and never got anywhere. As it
turns out, the price they charged me was more than anywhere else for first
service for performing the same functions." - CS 12/05 |

JOE CARSON H-D

"This is a great dealership. They sell at list, but
usually add about a grand in extras and charge for it. Thus, you get a
bike with nice extras you probably would have bought anyway, and paid less
than a bike alone would cost from some other places. Plus they are really
nice folks to deal with. They seem to have a good selection of used bikes,
including a one of mine. I drive by another dealer on my way to work every
day, yet I make the 40 minute trip to this dealer when I want something.
They are excellent!" - JM 1/00 "Great service dept. The absolute best anywhere
around. My FXDWG will keep up with he best of them. If you want you bike
done right, take it to Joe Carson's" - PP 4/01
"This is a great
dealership. They have the best service department around and the sales staff
are very friendly and helpful. They tend to hang a a grand or two of
accessories on a new bike and sell it for list plus the accessories. On the
plus side, the bikes look real good and you would probably end up buying
most of these accessories anyway. The owner and his crew are good, honest
people, concerned about the customer and a real pleasure to deal with." - JM
08/02 "I shopped all 4 local HD dealers in Columbus before
buying my 2004 Low Rider at Joe Carson. There were several reasons why I
chose Joe Carson. First, they did not pressure me at all and answer all my
questions quickly and honestly. Second, they charged MSRP and NO set-up
fees. Their reason was there is nothing to setting up the bike so why
charge. Third, they did not come down on the price but they did throw in a
few hundred dollars of free chrome. Since that time they are helpful
whenever I go with any issue or I'm getting new parts. They also send me
coupons in the mail for free shirts or hats and discounts on parts or motor
clothes. They are the smallest dealer in the area and I think more people
would buy from them if they knew about them. I won't buy from anyone else
locally." - DC 04/05 |

"Sell at close to MSRP, but usually with goodies
added. Usually a limited number of new bikes in stock. Used bikes are
priced at or near market value. Good wrenches and parts people. Limited
selection of clothes and accessories. Active HOG Chapter. Small town
dealer. People there remember your name." - DT 3/00
"Back in the summer of '98, my girlfriend's '97 Road King quit
while we were riding through Chillicothe on our way to Hocking Hills.
We got it to the dealership and the mechanic there (don't remember his
name) spent over an hour with us, the bike and the computer trying to
figure out what was going on. Never did but he really went out of
his way to try! (If he reads this, I'm the one that gave you the $20.00
tip) Turns out the bank angle sensor had melted down. We got on our
way and they didn't charge us a dime! I'd recommend this dealership for
their caring attitude! It was like being back in an H-D dealership 20
years ago!" - DS 4/00

H-D OF CINCINNATI
Cincinnati, OH

"I
just bought my third Harley, a 93 Heritage Classic. Paid a reasonable price and when
I showed them that the base gaskets may be leaking, they checked it out and replaced them
before I picked up the bike. They also noticed that the petcock was hard to turn so
they also replaced that. They did not have to replace the petcock. They did it
because they are good people." - MP 7/99 "Owned for over 20 years. Just opened their new facility.
Heavy emphasis on Motorclothes and Harley paraphernalia. Actually
maintains two separate bike buyer's lists. One for people who have
trade-ins and one for those who don't. Sells at MSRP if you have a
trade-in. If you don't have a trade-in, occasionally they will
"let" you pay $1500.00 over MSRP and walk with a bike.
This doesn't seem to be a uniform policy, but appears to be at the whim of
whomever is doing the selling. Waiting time on the trade-in list can
be anywhere from 3 to 18 months. Waiting time on the no trade-in list is
very often forever, 18 months plus minimum. They do not provide a
HOG membership discount. Trade -in value is worked from the motorcycle
blue book with little or no consideration for accessories regardless of
whether they are H-D accessories or not. Service has been generally
rated as average to good, but nothing spectacular. Expect to pay
premium surcharges of up to 25% for anything other than an Evo or TC88,
i.e. shovels, pans, etc. Parts and accessories sold at list price.
On a rating of 1 to 10, this dealership would probably receive a 6 or 7."
- DS 1/00 "Just wanted to comment on a few issues with these dealerships:
Both are owned by the same family. Mother/Father at Cincinnati Son (maybe
son-in-law) owns/runs Eastgate. Their sales people are rude, won't sell
without trade-in (unless they are desperate to unload a bike) and the
service is terrible. Cincinnati recently built a new dealership from the
ground up they just moved into last year, so you'll be paying for it in
higher parts prices and other. Go to Aces and Eights, you'll be treated
better and pay far less." - DH 7/01
"I would like to say that H-D of Cincinnati is the BEST dealership
I've ever been to. The service department was very helpful, they had me
back on the road in no time at all. They even took the time to clean my
bike after the work was completed." - BO 8/01
"I've been a customer of theirs for several years. I've always had
excellent customer service. I've purchased 2 bikes from the owners, one
without a trade in and one with a trade. I've never encountered any
problems. These folks are friendly and will take the time to answer any
questions. They have always gone the "extra mile" to help out!
I give them a thumbs up!" - GL 8/01
"I did not buy my bike there, however I do plan on doing all of my
future business on parts as well as new bike purchases to a most
respectable company." - JS 9/01
"I have been a customer at Harley of Cincinnati for over 20+ years, and
have nothing but good things to say about these people. I know them as
caring and involved in the local motorcycling community, as well as
the community at large. They have a huge parts inventory on hand. Even
some NOS (new old stock) that couldn't be found at many dealers. Their
policy of trade one in when you buy new bike is no worse than paying
over list, as many dealers have done. And the service staff is the best
anywhere. The parts people are knowledgeable, and willing to help with any
questions you have regarding installation of said parts. If more
dealers were like these people, the shortage of Harleys would be even
worse! If you come to Cincinnati stop in and say "Hi," you will be treated
as a good friend." - PN 9/01
"Am very happy w/service dept and parts......totaled out a bike last yr...serv.
mgr very helpful with getting fair price from ins. co. Cannot say enough
about him ...serv. dept and parts dept helpful / knowledgeable....sales
dept always was respectful and told me the truth about availability/had to
buy new out of area ...never got into specifics about price." - DH 01/03 "I have nothing but praise for their service department. They answer your
questions honestly and provide excellent repair advice. They stand behind
their work and will make good on any work they do. As of December 2004,
they are under new ownership with expanded hours of operation. The
previous owners have sold their interests and are now retired." - TC 03/05 |

"This dealership is owned by the Meinors son Ken.
Policies are virtually the same for both stores. There is a fairly
general perception that service here is inferior to that of the other
store. Parts and accessory inventory is often shared between the two
stores so there can be a wait of a day or so for parts to be transferred
unless you want to make the trip and pick them up yourself. Again,
the dealership probably would receive a 6 or 7 on a 1 to 10 rating."
- DS 1/00 "Well... here is another one on this dealer. I tried
to buy a new bike with all the cash in my pocket. No way. No trade in, no
bike. Got mine from Lorain Ave. in Cleveland, who was great. Had to have
mine serviced in Cinti where I live. Every time I've had it there, there
has been a problem of some sort. Got it back from being serviced once and
the primary chain was slapping so badly, I didn't move it one inch. I
highly recommend you avoid this dealer." - JK 3/01 |

"I have been a customer at Farrow's for a couple of
years now. It's close to home actually it kind of feels like home
when I am there. The staff really goes out of there way to make sure
I feel welcome. Fred and Mike always take an extra minute to either
tell me a funny story or join us around the coffee pot (which I might
mention is always on with hot-free coffee going). There selection of
motorclothes is great. I always find something to take home with me.
They also have a new Motorclothes manager (it's about time we have someone
to relate to) and she will go out of her way get you what you want.
You know how you like to go to a bike shop and find someone there that is
just a good ol' boy and will shoot the stories with you, go to Farrow's
and ask for John in parts. There could be a million people in the
store and John always has time for a good biker tail. For those of
you who have daughters and you never take them to your bike shop you can
take them to Farrow's! There young guy in parts and the Buell guy (that's
what they call him) will make them feel at home. ( in a good way) What I
really like about Farrow's is that it's always fun, back when I first
started hanging out there they had just hired a new girl to do events, she
is so fun she always has something crazy going on and in my opinion and
the opinion of my friends, many of them long time customers, she has added
so much to what the store is today. I come in the store and she actually
calls me by name, and not just me, but it seems like she knows everyone
there. I know this is a long story about this particular dealership
but I hope if you read this and come anywhere within a 100 mile radius of
Columbus you will make this a stop on your trip to see how a real
Harley-Davidson store should be run. In final word..... Farrow's
Harley-Davidson is not only the oldest but the best Harley shop in
America." - LT 2/00 "I've never had a bad experience with AD Farrow HD. I got a 2001
Road King at MSRP and was treated fairly with my trade in. The parts
department is is second to none other. If they don't have it in stock,
they can get it within a week, usually less. It has a friendly atmosphere
and someone is always willing to help. Recommended my dad to them and he
was able to get a 2001 Electra Glide Classic off the floor with no
trade." - JB 4/01
"These people have seriously bad attitudes. I don't know why the Motor
Co. puts up with dealers like this one. I've had some of the worst service
ever on a Buell I bought here along with all the recalls. They bolted all
the factory provided recall kits on their floor bikes without regard to
their customers who then had to wait for other parts to become available.
When they finally got around to getting me back on the road, i found
things done badly (like the way they cut off the wiring to my license
plate light and didn't repair it.) When I confronted the service manager,
he denied that they had even touched it. Arrogance and obfuscation
instead of concern and customer care - just what one might expect from
these money grubbers!" - RC 08/02

"I purchased two bikes and thousands in accessories from this dealership
over the years. It is now under new ownership (as of 2003) and is no
longer an MSRP dealer. They are now charging a $1000 'set up and freight'
fee. Sales manager treats customers like a nuisance. No longer have

good dealerships in the area. I will take my business elsewhere." - SW

management that needs a re-structuring. Un-organization, lack of
communication and less than honest comments from inexperienced service
tech. I watched another customer being told they couldn't give him an
estimate on dyno tuning because it could take anywhere from 2 to 18 hour
to get it right. YES 18 HOURS. I know some things are tricky but if it
takes more than 4 hours I'm not sure you know what you're doing.

dealer for a bad ECM replacement. Took them a week and a half to diagnose
this problem. I drove to Warren HD to get the new ECM to get the bike back
quicker. When I arrived, the service manager told me that it was covered
under warranty. The dealer that sent me told me it would cost $385.00.
Warren's manager called the other dealers service mgr. and he put her on
hold. They told us they "couldn't find the book that told what was covered
on the warranty". Warren HD let me sign for the part ,and after explaining
about the warranty, and how service departments are supposed to work, I left
knowing that all my future HD purchases and work would be done here from now
on. Warren HD is clean, has great deals on merchandise, a Huge parts and
accessories dept. I have referred all my friends there, in fact its become
a favorite ride destination." - WH 12/03 "I'd love to be able to buy a bike here, been trying for
almost 6 years.
Either they don't have or aren't expecting what I want or they've got so
many used bikes they aren't interested in what I have to trade. This
family-owned and operated dealership is just plain friendly. The parts folks
are knowledgeable and the service dept. is top notch. They've fixed things
for me under warranty that the dealer I bought from wasn't even interested
in taking a look at. In repairing my rear-ended 3-day-new Ultra they found
damage that wasn't covered in the estimates and worked closely with my
insurance company to make sure the bike was 'as-new' when it was delivered
back to me. Many of the techs have been around long enough to know their way
around older iron. No problem getting parts or service for my '86 FXR.
Wouldn't surprise me to see 'em working on shovels in the back. the Service
Manager, is extremely knowledgeable and committed to customer satisfaction.
Warren H-D sells at MSRP, free first service, no discounts on accessories
that I'm aware of except 10% for their local HOG chapter members." - TM

"Changes day to day, sometimes at list, sometimes way over list,
sometimes loaded down with old chrome pieces they need to get rid over. In
the summer of 99 they lost 3 of the 6 mech's in service. Long waits and
hurried jobs in the service dept left me hurting. On a 10k service they
broke my fork brace, fork seals leaked, and oil pouring out my pushrod
covers on a top end job, did not grease wheel bearings or swingarm, they
said they were sealed units?, NOT! Different people have different experiences
here, Caviet Emptor!" - JS 2/00
"Service department is friendly and very SLOW. It took 3 weeks just to
get the estimate and 2 months later they still have my bike. They seem to
have too much business already to care about new customers." - DM 10/01
"Nice, friendly dealership. From the "hands-on", concerned owners, to
the knowledgeable parts department, the sales staff, & the service people,
all are interested in solving your problem. They can answer any questions
& will take all the time necessary to do so. Parts & service departments
have especially went out of their way to help when I needed it. Always
have bikes on the floor and out front. I would recommend this dealer to
anyone." - EK 01/02 "After calling about 20 dealerships across the U.S., I called F&S. The
whole attitude was different, casual and very professional. This is
probably due to the fact they are an old store that has been around for
some time. No bogus add-on fees or other BS. Dealers in my area would have
matched the price (which was MSRP), but after speaking with them a couple
of times on the phone I knew my money would be best spent at F&S. I only
wish I lived closer so I could have my bike serviced there also. This
dealership works the way a dealership should work." - PM 05/04 |

"When buying a new bike people seldom think of needing out of town
service. Experiences needing quick service on a cross country trip will
tell you real quick who cares about the Harley customer as a whole, not
just ones buying T-shirts. Twice over the last five years I have
needed something looked at H&M while in Ohio on trips from TX.
Both times I got what is rare these days. I was greeted in a
friendly manner, shown a large list of scheduled service then worked into
the line-up in a very reasonable time. While other dealerships were
telling me good luck, H&M said it would be difficult but they
would try their best to work me in. They did, the price was
reasonable and the service was done right. I rate them one of the
best & appreciate being kept on the road!" - KL 8/01 "H&M is one of the few HD Dealers that I've found that is willing to ship
to APO addresses (military folks overseas). Every time I've ordered from
them I've gotten what I want, at a decent price and in good time. Back
orders take awhile, but that's expected. Their catalog and web site make
sense and are easy to use. When ordering by phone or on-line, they have
always done me right. Hats off to H&M for supporting the troops!" - DC

"sells from a long list at MSRP. Over a year wait
for an Ultra." - TM 10/99
"Family owned, Mom, Dad, Son, and Daughter all work there, very
honorable people, Parts Department first rate, Service department will
pick up your bike in a special van. Very active HOG chapter well supported
by dealer. Many free functions run by dealership." - JC 5/00
"I've purchased seven new bikes in 11 years from this dealership. All
have been at MSRP. No added markup, no accessories have to be added. Your
name goes on a list and the bike arrives when it's suppose to. You don't
have to trade if you don't want to. The owners are wonderful to deal with.
The parts people are unbelievably knowledgeable, and the service is second
to none. Everyone knows you by your first name. I live 55 miles away and
pass three Harley dealers to go there. I'd drive the distance just to buy
a fuse, you're truly in the family at Elyria HD." - GA 11/01
"Purchased a 883R for MSRP when all local dealers were $1500-2000 above
this. They also offered a higher trade in than other dealers. Other
"locals" buy bikes there which is 1 1/2 hour drive. Great friendly
treatment." - RW 06/02

there before. Good bunch of people." - BS 07/02 |

"Stealer, sell stock bikes at $2500-$3500 over list,
take it or leave it! Snotty salesman!" - JS 2/00 "I'm a member of their HOG. chapter - which is about
average and growing. I have purchased very few things from this dealership
since they are not cheap. They markup Sportsters $1000 - $3000 over MSRP.
Big Twins are even more. They had a Deuce ($17,500 MSRP) on the floor last
year and were asking $28,000 for it. Talk about a Stealership! I
understand that they usually get what they want. The service department, on the other hand, is excellent. I had a loose crankshaft
sprocket that they repaired for under $75, which included hauling it back
to my house (about 15 miles away). Of course, I had to work out the logic
with the (young) tech, but (we) solved the problem. Oh yeah, the charge
also included replacing the front wheel bearing and installing a new tire
(which I supplied). I was quite satisfied with their service." - SL

"Bought used Lowrider in 1/01. Leaking oil since we brought
it home. Service department is the pits; so-called Manager rude.
After three trips back for service still couldn't fix leak. Manager
suggested we take it to another dealer for service (to get rid of us).
Still leaking after one visit to different dealer, going back in September
- wish us luck. (Been in the shop for service more than we have
ridden). Very disappointed in service/treatment from TCHD.
Letter to Pres. in Milwaukee voicing complaints to no avail...
independently owned blah blah blah. Put a serious damper on our
first Harley purchase/experience - stay clear from TCHD! Will never
recommend or step foot in there again." - CM 8/01
"If you decide to have service done there do your home work see if the
Techs are in deed certified and check with the trouble shooter in the area
(local TV) and see if the complaints are still flowing in . Check your
receipt real close if service is done there as to what kind of lubes u are
getting. I have called the factory and the reps. there say, "since H.D.F.
is a franchise there is nothing that can be done to police the actions of
that dealership". I know first hand since I worked there for a very short
time .Consumer beware .I have documentation that has been presented to HD
factory and they refused to even smack them on the hand. Good luck ... but
remember just because there are some bad apples in the barrel doesn't mean
that the whole barrel is spoiled." - RR 10/02

country...and being an HD Mo.Co. employee, I have the firsthand experience
needed to make that statement. I travel six hundred miles each way to do
business with them, and have also recommended them to my friends at work;
who themselves have purchased approximately six vehicles from this
dealership in the last five years. The owner is friendly, honest, and a
pleasure to do business with." - AS 07/02 "Purchased a 2003 Ultra
Classics from H-D of Lima. When I called on October 25th just looking to see
if they even had an Ultra. My lucky day they had one, and the two tone to
boot, still in the crate. Told them right then and there to mark it sold and
that I would be there to look it over that after noon. They are one of a
very few dealers in this area who sell at first come first served and at
MSRP. Everyone that I dealt where very knowledgeable and helpful. I would
send anyone interested to them and I am sure they would be pleased. The
Salesman and the Service Manager talked me through some of the extras that I
wanted." - DW 11/02 |

"These guys are great! They took my order for a new
Fatboy with a deal at list price - Without a trade! I no sooner got home
than the phone was ringing. The sales manager, Jeff, said that a bike was
available for me if I wanted it. New Fatboy at List Price and No Trade-in
with the Sale and Delivery completed in 3 days! These people want to sell
you a bike and gain a customer for life." - RC 4/00 "I live in NC but buy all my parts from these folks
since my local dealer has a attitude and poor customer service to go along
with it. You know what I mean. The parts dept. is great to
deal with...orders are filled promptly, returns are no hassle, and they
give an "outstanding" discount on parts...give them a call for
details. Wish my local dealer was half as good!" - KA 6/01
"The sales department folks were nice, but would not work with me
on price. They like to add chrome and sell way over MSRP.
Parts - Excellent - 4 1/2 stars. Service - I had to leave the bike
for 5 days before they worked on it, but was very happy with the service.
The local rumors are wrong if you ask me." - RB 6/01
"Recently purchased a 2002 Fatboy from Hales and am very impressed with
their whole staff. The sales Manager treated me with respect and explained
everything including the pricing that they have on their bikes . (MSRP
plus Frt and set-up . Parts and service seem to be good to and very
friendly. They have bikes on the floor already dressed or can custom build
to my specs." - JM 01/02 "I have never set foot in this dealer but have been getting my parts from
them for about 2 years now. Couldn't be happier. They have a great track
record of sending the right thing and I can get it delivered to the door a
lot of times 15% or more cheaper than the local dealer. And they want me
to drive 30 miles." - DR 07/04"Great dealership, always treated
like a friend. these guys have a great selection of stock and customized
Harleys in stock and prices seem to be great compared to some of the other
Ohio dealers. Real small town atmosphere where you always seem to see the
same employees. I would highly recommend. 2004 fat boy I love it!" - JM

"A smaller dealership. They sell off a list at MSRP
and start taking names for the new model year around July." - 10/99 "If you are looking for a straight shooting honest
dealership this is the one. I have purchased two bikes and numerous
accessories in the last year. I ordered a 2001 Dyna super glide and it was a
pleasurable experience with no" hocus pocus". Last week I walked into their
dealership and found a fat 02 Fat Boy with no added accessories @ MSRP +$500
frt. & Prep. I didn't have to trade my bike in but they gave me very close
to what I paid for it so I did. Everyone there is willing to help you with
anything you need, which is a welcome change from other personal experiences
with local dealers. I don't think it gets any better than that!" - TB 02/02 "My wife wanted to surprise me with a new sporty in
Feb.'04. She called a dealership that approved her credit, but wanted $14k
for a 2003 sporty 1200c plus $500 shipping from out of state. I was let in
on the deal at the last second, and told her it was too much $, but lets see
what we can find locally. I called Carlton at the recommendation of some of
my long time Harley buddies, and explained to them what we were doing. They
had us come out (about an hour away, there are at least 5 dealerships closer
to me) and were absolutely the best start to finish. After we got there,
they had our credit done, and told me to pick a bike, either off the floor
or they had more in the back. I was told that since we had been approved at
the other amount, that I could add parts up to that amount if I wanted. I
got a new '04 1200c in blue/black for MSRP, added the sissy bar and pad, and
they installed it without adding labor. They said that\'s the way you want
it, that's how you'll get it, just pay for the parts. Delivered it free,
and service told me that if I wanted to work on it myself instead of
bringing it in, they would be happy to give me advice or answer any
questions....unheard of!! A family run business that treats you like family,
they have my $ from here on!" - CS 12/05 |

new dealer they are bending over backwards to promote itself and it's
services. Open everyday until 8 (ex. Sun. until 5), service open on Sun.
VERY friendly. I belong to another HOG chapter but this place is very
customer oriented. Never bought a bike from them but service does well.

make things right. Highly recommend this dealer. Great place to shop on a

"Sells WAAAY over MSRP. Haven't had anybody say
anything particularly good about 'em and have heard several nasty stories
regarding their service." - TM 10/99
"I just purchased a new '02 FXD from them. They sell at MSRP, don't make
you buy any amount of add-ons, and any of the staff I met there are very
friendly and knowledgeable. They also give you a coupon for 2 free T
shirts when you pick up your bike. I was told that the '03 models WILL be
at a higher price due to the anniversary, but the salesman was unsure how
much higher than MSRP '03 models would be priced at. All in all a very
smooth relaxed transaction. I'd highly recommend them." - BF 03/02
"A buyer must gather knowledge about the bike or service and be aware. Do
your homework or get a friend to help you or read this. $2500 above MSRP.
The salesman up-sold me on bigger cam rod and louder pipes. I agreed. My
decision, no pressure. That was good. I added them. The finance mgr tried
to up sell me HD finance and gap insurance and told me my bank could not
cover the accessories, (I took none of it and my bank does cover the
accessories). That was a close call. If I believed him I would have lost
4000 in finance charge over the next 4 years. The pressure from him was a
little uncomfortable but I "just said no". When I came back in with bank
check and sales agreement everything went smooth. I decided to be
proactive and "very nice". Nice letter to tell them when I was coming to
pay and on what day, what time. I worked with the parts mgr same way. He
was VERY helpful. I worked with Service Manager same way. He and whole
department were VERY, VERY helpful. I was patient during their rush hours
and they were attentive when it was my turn. From my experience with all
dealerships is that if you want honey, you have to give honey. Nothing is
for free and their job is to get your money and stay free of liability.
No crime in that unless they physically reach into my pocket. If you
don't have the cash you can't play in the game. Capitalism works. Buyer beware." - TD 06/02
"Went in January 03 looking for a Road King, new or used. The Sales guy
said would be a long wait on new one, asked about used one, he quickly
walked me to the first one, quick short description of the bike, as I bent
down to take a closer look he hollers across the show room, this one over
here, as if to call me, is bla bla bla, then goes to #3 and says they guy
had way too much chrome on it and it would take excellent credit for me to
afford this one as if I didn't have it. I asked who owned the new
dealership, he gave me a stupid look and asked what that mattered. then he
says if you have any questions ill be in my office, walks away to his desk
and sits there tapping his pencil watching me. as I left he tries to hand
me a business card. I said I don't think ill need that and left. Bought
the used one I had already looked at through a private party the next day.
CASH." - WH 03/03
"Went to Western Reserve in June of 03. Looked at a used Super Glide
Sport, decided it was a little to pricey. Settled on an 03 Sportster. Not
only was the sales manager quite arrogant, he approved my loan @ 21per
cent. Said to forget it. Went to Southeast Harley Davidson and purchased a
new Super Glide, approved credit from HD credit @ 8.5 per cent. is there
something fishy going on here?...let other people decide. I will not even
buy parts there and they are less than 3 miles from my house." - CS 02/04
"I ordered a new '02 FXD 8/01 and received it 3/02. They sold it for MSRP,
no hassles, and got 7.5% rate since I took the extended warranty (which
cost $1.00 a month more than without the warranty @ 9.5%). I've never used
their service dept. so I can't comment on that aspect." - BF 07/04
"The salesman was no help the Service person has a real problem with the
truth. Took five months to fix two problems that bike from day one.
Problem one they had 12 repairs for the same thing. problem two was major
but was told for 5 moths nothing was wrong. changed oil used wrong oil
twice .They will pick up and deliver and I really liked that and they
clean the bike every time and they do that well. They did try to make up
for all the problems but it just got worse. I sent a email to the Dealer
an was told the salesman probably saw it an deleted it. Called owner of
Western Reserve Harley, he couldn't care less about the problems I've had,
he was only interested in what it cost him trying to fix all the things
his people did wrong or didn't do right. That is really to bad." - PB 10/05 |

scoot to me with warped rotors. The Service Dept. seems to have their act
together but I'm not too keen on the salespeople. I did buy another bike
from these guys '05 XL 1200C but it took over two weeks to finally take

"Centennial Park is a great dealership.
Everyone there tries to treat you with dignity and respect. Respect
starts with honest sales people that sell bikes at MSRP. Respect
continues with a parts department that is knowlegeable and has a real
desire to help you enjoy your bike as much as they enjoy theirs.
This dealership goes above and beyond the call to duty in service by
offering the detailing services of one of the Columbus area's finest
detailers. The service department also has free pickup and delivery
services. The motorclothes department provides excellent customer
service and some of the most knowlegeable sales people in the industry.
I enjoy going to this dealership on Saturdays because they offer free
hotdogs and a fun environment. This dealership has made fun an
important value and genuinely wants you to have fun." - RC 1/00
"Finally a honest dealer! This place is great. The
sales people gave me honest answers and explained the process perfectly.
Amazingly enough they sell at MSRP (and a great selection of used bikes at
great prices!). I talked to the parts guys for a long time.
They were very knowledgeable on the accessories out there. The
service dept. is awesome! So clean & professional! I
walked out of there with a new t-shirt and a new respect for Harley
dealers. If you're out to get a Harley, this is the place to go.
You wont be disappointed!!" - TS 1/00
"Centennial Park is part of the A.D. Farrows world. I tried
to talk to two sales people today and both of them were rude with a take
it or leave it attitude. They told me very high prices on the
Harleys I was interested in, $24,000.00. When I finally told them my
friend had just ordered a new Harley of the same model from another dealer
for $6000.00 less, they said that is about right but would not have all
the extras on it that they would put on. I told them I was not
interested in the extras, I just wanted the bike. I will be going to
the dealer my friend just ordered his from. Thanks Centennial Park !"
- CA 8/01
"I have never, ever had a problem with this dealership! They treat me
with respect & are always honest. Everyone at this dealership is helpful
with all my questions. The service department is excellent. The parts
dept. has everything. The sales are fair and always at MSRP with no
extras or hidden charges. Centennial Park has a customer for life.
Thanks for everything Centennial, I feel part of the H-D family!" - TS

"I was in this dealership yesterday and found a bike just like my old
one and another we liked and with cash in hand were ready to buy. The
sales manager was VERY arrogant and pushy but not in the least flexible. I
didn't care how many bikes he sold or how many he owns or how he got his
job...(Stories in which we had to know about) I just wanted to buy TWO
bikes off the floor. He wined that he didn't make money off cash deals and
he would rather finance. He also lied to us about a part on a bike that he
said came stock and DOES NOT. That bike sure was pretty but I will look
around a bit more. Do these guys want to sell bikes or not?" - JD 12/01
"I have been to hundreds of Harley dealers in my travels and I have to
say that Centennial Park Harley-Davidson is head and shoulders above the
rest. The friendly sales staff greeted me at the door and escorted me to
the department I needed. The parts and motorclothes selection is great!
The service department provides free pick up and delivery up to 100 miles
in any direction any time of the year. I have recently become active in
the HOG. chapter and am blown away by the events and rides these folks
have put together. I always feel at home at Centennial Park and consider
them my dealership. I will continue to visit other dealers but everything
I buy for my bike will come from Centennial Park. Don't take it from me,
stop by and see them, you'll never have a better experience at a
H-D dealership." - TC 03/02
"There have been many changes here lately, all for the better. The
parts department was always excellent, sales staff were aloof in past but
new staff are great, has some good mechanics and a most accommodating
service department, the clothing and chrome accessories department is
well-stocked (this has certainly cost me a lot of money in the past).
Overall, very friendly, competent people and a great, customer-centered
operation. I enjoy doing business with them." - JM 08/02
"Was put on a list for 03 FLHT and told suggested retail price. Got the
call that bike was in. Went to get bike and told price was suggested
retail, BUT shipping and prep was $2,500. Told dealer FORGET IT. They
suck Bad." - TB 04/03
"My wife and I bought two bikes from them recently (XLH & FXDL), and
couldn’t have asked to have been treated any better. The staff was
extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The entire staff made the buying
experience easy and pleasant for a newbie. They are always ready with
suggestions and advice, and tell you what you want and/or need, not just
what makes them the most money." - JC 09/03
"I was visiting a friend in Columbus and went to Centennial to buy a
t-shirt and saw a black '04 Road Glide and had to have it. The staff was
professional, helpful, the price was right and I bought it. They have a
great staff from the manager, sales dept. and on through the dealership.
Oh, did I mention I live in Arizona, a rider for over 40 years and to be
treated so well made it that much better. A few weeks later I received a
laser engraved plaque with my name and a Road Glide on it, nice touch." -
TL 02/04
"First shopped this dealership in November I also shipped the other
Columbus dealerships but kept in touch with my salesman and the atmosphere
at Centennial Park made me feel the most welcome. The salesman was eager
to provide as much info as possible throughout the process. When it came
to decision time he sat me on many different bikes and helped me with
"fit" a great deal. Once I made my decision everyone in motorclothes,
finance, parts and service were also a pleasure to deal with. No hidden
costs just an honest deal. They made the process a very enjoyable one.
They have my business for life!" - RL 04/04
"I lived out of state so didn't purchase my Road king from Centennial.
I wanted to get a birthday gift for my father who lives near them. I
ordered a nice gift from Centennial and asked to have it overnight
delivered because I was short on time. One of the sales or admin ladies
lived near him and offered to deliver it personally to save me the cost of
the overnight shipping. I have since moved to Columbus and I can tell you
that things like that will definitely stay in my mind when deciding where
to have maintenance done and where to purchase my next bike. This is what
"customer service" should be about. They have my business for life." - VV

here." - GS 4/01 "I tried to order a new HD at this 'Newly
Owned' dealership. I don't own a Harley yet, to be my first HD after
waiting over 20 years to afford one. Every time I went in to deal I was
told a different story...first they said come after the first of the
year...when they know what they will be getting. Went back in January and
then they said they didn't have any that were not spoken for...etc., etc.,
etc....found out you need trade in that they want or you get the run
around. A friend that I work with know a former employee who quit because
she couldn't stand it any more...she couldn't even order a new big twin
unless she had a newer trade in! They don't get many new bike...but have
lots of bike $4000 over value! I went to Napoleon Ohio MSRP...waited a
little over 6 months for my FXDX...ships tomorrow... Got lots of money...go to Signature Harley!" - MS
5/01 "Just had some repair work done by Signature HD. It took 3 weeks
with an appointment, had to be taken back 2 times (first time within 25
miles) and now have it done. When I went in to pick it up time # 1 repair
was well over the estimate. (No call to revise estimate.) First estimate was
Max. $700.00, final bill was over $1050.00 When I took it back as it was not
right, they found the problem of the spark plug wire left loose. Third time
back, they found the TPS sensor (throttle Position sensor) was bad. That
originally I had asked them to check as I had problems with it before.
Replaced that for parts charge only. MSRP $42.50 But the repair bill
included other parts that would not have fit my bike. A slow jet, My bike is
Fuel Injected. No carb. They removed the slow jet from the bill soon as I
pointed that out. Service manager stated that he didn't even know what a
slow jet was. If you get ! work done here, check your bill. I recommend not
even getting any work done here. I wont again." - FZ 04/02 "After
riding motorcycles for the last ten years, I had saved and sought to own a
FLHR. Checking the showrooms inventory weekly, a 2003 FLHRI appeared on the
floor in mid March. By the end of the day, the bike was mine. This being
my first experience with any dealership, I was impressed with how the entire
staff treated me throughout the process. Shortly thereafter on a ride, a
rattle was heard coming from the rear of the bike. I traced it to a faulty
hinge pin on one of the hard bags. Upon making the service manager aware of
the problem, a part was ordered and arrived within the week. A convenient,
after work, appointment time was made within four days, and while I waited,
the problem had been corrected. All of this during what is probably their
busiest time of the year. This will go a long way in alleviating the anxiety
I suffer whenever service or repair is needed. I'm looking forward to
future dealings with the Signature staff." - DS 04/03 |

GOVER'S H-D

"According to a well-known biker magazine, readers have sent in
letters claiming that this dealer sells bikes at or near MSRP."
"New owners, sell bikes off the floor - has
list of what bikes people want when arrive in dealership (new &
used)" - HB 11/99
"Gover's was the only dealer in the area who treated me like a
potential sell...and because they did, they got a sale. They are all more
then willing to help and always remember your name. Thanks for the great
experience guys! That's why I drive 45 min to go to your shop instead of
10 min. to the dealer down the road." - SE 6/01 "Gover H-D has
moved from Arcanum to Piqua, Ohio. We went from a 7000 sq ft
building to a 17500 sq ft building! We sell at MSRP with a $425
Setup-Prep-First Service for big twins and $375 for Sportsters (at least
for the 2001 model year). We do sell bikes out of our
"territory" (as defined by The Motor Company) but seldom order
bikes for people who live too far away to (possibly) come back for service
or parts and accessories. We are currently ordering about two thirds of
our bikes for customers and are putting the other third on the floor on a
FCFS basis." - Gover H-D 7/01 "In
April of 2001 we moved into our new 17,500 sq ft. , now, only three and a
half years later we find ourselves in need of more space. On Saturday
March 19, 2005 we broke ground on an addition to our building. We will be
adding an additional 10,500 sqft. We are expanding our service capability
(more techs and a dyno) and increasing our storage/warehouse facility.
The addition will also include a "HOG / conference room". We hope to be
able to offer winter storage for next winter, and dyno services by the end
of this Summer. We also hope to be able to offer Wi-Fi connectivity in
the dealership within the next couple of months! We have more motorcycles
available on the floor now (because our allocation has grown, more than
doubled!) We sell at MSRP and include the first service in the price of
our setup/prep fee, which varies from model family to model family. At
Gover H-D/Buell we are committed to giving the customer the best possible
purchases experience they have ever had. The Dealership is a family
friendly atmosphere that you don't have to worry about bringing you
children into and wondering what they might hear. We are also HUGE Buell
enthusiasts; we love the bikes and love to ride them. We are a no "B.S."
dealership, we will tell you the truth, no matter what. Because of our
great customers our business continues to grow and grow." - Gover H-d

C&A H-D
Plain City, OH

"This dealership has moved to a beautiful new
building this year. However, the new atmosphere has not helped the
attitude of the service writer. I did not buy a motorcycle from this
dealer, but have had service performed on my Fatboy there. Talk
about horrible service. I've been there twice for service, both
times was a horrible experience. Was told a certain price for labor
and a time frame of completion. Neither came true when my bike was
finally complete. I usually speak to the son of the owner and have
had great dealings with him. He stands behind his word and comes
through for me when needed. If they get rid of their service
problems, this would be a good dealership to do business. Prices
seem a bit high on floor models. Need more bikes on hand at a good
price." - TV 6/01 "Employees are a problem here. They apparently
have important work to do and don't like being interrupted by a customer. I
bought a leather tool kit they had in stock and got home to find I had the
wrong one. Also, the box had already been opened as was the hardware bag,
and the instructions had been folded and re-folded several times. I took it
back to exchange it, but it was 31 days later. They charged me a 10%
restocking fee for late return, even though it wasn't a special order item
and had already been restocked at least once. I asked to speak to the parts
manager. He came over, but clearly didn't want to be bothered with a lowly
customer's problem. He simply pointed to an index card with very small print
on the cash register saying that a restocking fee would apply if returned
after 30 days. I took my 90% refund, didn't order the right one, and will
never be back. Apparently they think they will make enough money from
restocking items to make up for the business they are loosing by being so
arrogant and inflexible." - JM 08/02 "Picked up my 03 883 Custom on
8-9-02. Pretty painless though I went thru my credit union and not Harley
Credit. Got a better interest rate. Salesman was up front about everything.
Paid $500 over MSRP which I thought was pretty reasonable considering a lot
of places are really jacking up the prices. Salesman stayed in touch
throughout the whole process and went over everything completely to make
sure I understood everything. Parts guys were helpful with questions I had
and the service manager was very helpful with some things I wanted put on
before delivery. Overall a good experience compared to some of the horror
stories I have read on this site. Will definitely be back." - BT 08/02 ""Mom & Pop" started this dealership and worked hard to
get it where it is today. Making lots of money. Now the kids take over and
have a real snobbish attitude. I hate being lied to and the service manager
is a big liar. Caught him in several. Received lousy service twice so I've
learned my lesson. Won't be back. If he had only been up-front and honest
all would have been OK. Just don't lie to me." - DD 12/05 |
ROEDER H-D
Sandusky, OH

"Dealer will order Big Twins for
$500 and sells them at MSRP. " - RB 6/01
"I am a frequent customer at Roeder
and have been since 1997, bought my '00 Wide Glide there and all service
and parts from there. I have seen the evolution of the dealership
and it certainly is headed in the wrong direction. It used to be you
could deal on prices with the bikes...now, its strictly MSRP. The
sales personnel are very helpful, but it is obvious that the prices are
set by management and the sales guys have their hands tied.
Service is good, I have only waited once (beyond what I was told) and they
picked up and delivered my bike to me (over 60 miles away). I have
had ZERO trouble with the service to my WG (ported, polished, stage 3) and
would recommend them to anyone. Their pricing is up there....but
service will deal... just ask em... usually will knock 10-20% off.
The parts guys are very knowledgeable and have only once had to wait for a
part (mfgr had a backorder). All in all the management is trying to
gouge, but the goodhearted people on the floor will do whatever it takes
to keep you there. " - DK 8/01
"I had a breakdown 200 miles from home & this dealer went way out of
the way to help me out & get me back on the road. They smoothed out a
scary & unpleasant experience & made me feel very much at ease. Everyone
was most helpful & friendly. I would highly recommend them for any Harley
needs." - EK 10/01
"The bike came in 2-4 months early. The salesmen were honest and
straightforward. They worked hard for me though out the whole deal with
no pressure to buy accessories or extras. My biggest impression is that
they
are free of the typical "we sell expensive poser bikes" attitude I've
picked up from other dealers. Everyone left me with a good impression.
The concern was over the bike and me, not the bottom line. Service up to
10,000 miles was included free in my deal (not to mention a T-shirt and a
small bag full of goodies). I would highly recommend them. If I had to
find a complaint, it would be that I was not informed of several charges
before the order. This dealer is 45 miles away from my local dealer and
well worth the trip." - BB 10/01

MID-OHIO H-D
Springfield, OH
|
"I purchased my first HD, a new 1992 Dyna, from
Mid-Ohio. They were extremely pleasant, I had never been in the
store before but they treated me like an old customer. I paid retail
for the bike in '92 and they have been selling bikes for retail ever
since. They have a list but you can luck out every once in awhile
and find one on the floor. I live in Dayton, there is a dealer here
but I would gladly ride the 35 miles to Mid-Ohio to avoid the lies and
underhanded dealings of the local dealer. The owners Brian and his
lovely wife are very nice people, they remember your name, they treat you
with the respect you should get from a dealer when you spend $18,000 for a
toy. I have purchased several Harleys since that time, from other
dealers and I am sorry. I strayed from the fold but you can bet your
Harley that my next bike will be bought at Mid-Ohio." - JW 5/00 "Dynojet has been upgraded to tune Power Commanders with air/fuel
system and eddy-current brake. Still VERY pleased with the service
department here, as well as the whole crew." - MR 9/01
"2002 Road King Classic...MSRP plus $599.00 setup & freight. Not bad.
This is my second purchase there. I am very satisfied with the no nonsense
way of purchasing a Harley. No lottery B.S., No settling for what you're
lucky enough to find on somebody's sales floor. Just drop a deposit, tell
the man what you want, color & accessories. I had a 3 month wait, &
knowing I was getting exactly what I wanted made it well worth it." - MJ

TOLEDO H-D
Toledo, OH

"According to well known motorcycle publication,
this dealer sells new Harleys at or near MSRP" "I have purchased
two bikes from these folks, both at MSRP with approximately 9 months wait
for each with a $500 or $1000 deposit. They are further away from me than 2
other dealers, but I like the atmosphere and people better. The service is
good - they give you appointments, and in my case I have not had any lengthy
wait for my bike. They are not perfect, but they try to do the right
thing. The owner seems to be a good guy- he came by my house and test rode
my new bike when I reported a problem once, then got it in for service
during a very busy time (pre- Sturgis ). Service department seems to be
pretty stable. Only negative is the service department is small, and very
busy during the riding season, but that is pretty common around here. Not a
glitzy place, looks like an overgrown gas station, but I prefer it to the
chrome palaces." - JB 03/02 "I
made an appointment to have my the brakes replaced on my Ultra and
troubleshoot an intermittent miss in the engine, one week in advance.
These guys kept my bike for 10 days. Returned it to me with the same miss
in the engine and rotors that were out of true. They still charged me
practically $300. I wrote two letters of complaint to the owner and
Harley. That was 2 months ago and still no one has responded. Harley in
general seems to have a hard time finding reliable Techs. Drug Tests
should be mandatory!" - RP 12/05 |

THIEL'S H-D

"According to well known motorcycle publication,
this dealer sells new Harleys at or near MSRP"
"I had been to
nearly every HD dealer in Central Ohio, the only one I found that didn't try
to load me up with "extras" and sold me the FLHTC as MSRP was Thiels. There
was no pressure, the sales rep and everyone else went out of their way to
get me on the road and on my way home. The best dealership I've encountered
and would recommend them to anyone." - KN 02/01 "I ordered a 2002 Ultra
and in 5 months it was at the dealer (they said it would take 6 months).
The bike was exactly what I ordered with no add-ons or make you buy anything
extra. Bike was sold at MSRP. Theil's Wheels is a great, Honest place to
buy a Harley. I live 100 miles from them and I'm going back for anything I
need." - RF 12/01 "I Purchased a 2001 Sportster over the telephone
from Birmingham Al. The deal was done at MSRP, and the bike was put in a
crate and shipped to my door. I was riding 10 days after the deal was
closed. They did everything possible to sell a bike to someone 500 miles
away. They called to make sure the bike got to me, and that it was in good
shape after shipping. All H-D dealers should take lessens from Thiel's." -
MP 03/02 "I
let Centennial Park HD rip me off with ridiculous mark-up with my last
bike purchase. So I vowed not to pay over MSRP when I bought my 05
Softail Deluxe. Both AD Farrow in Columbus, and Centennial Park in
Pataskala continue to mark up and charge unreasonable setup. Finally I
found Theil's Wheels in Upper Sandusky. They sell at MSRP, no hidden
charges, very reasonable dealer prep (220.00). I could order the bike in
my color, and with my options. They were a joy to deal with. Unlike the
Columbus area dealers they respected me for more than what they thought
they could steal from my wallet. I highly recommend this dealer, and will
push as many Columbus buyers there as possible. As long as you are willing
to leave the Columbus area you don't have to pay over MSRP, and you can
have your bike the way you want it." - TG 05/05 |

NEIDENGARD'S CYCLE
Wintersville, OH
|
"I just bought a new 2000 FLHRI, my overall
experience with this dealer was great! They start taking orders on
new bikes in June for that coming model year. You can order what
bike you want and the color. They do have a selling radius though. They
require a $500.00 deposit at the time of order. Once their list is
full for that model year they won't take any more orders until the
following June. By the way their service department is excellent!
And they sell for MSRP! Stop in and see them." - CA 10/99 "An outstanding dealer who will go the extra mile to
satisfy his customers. Purchased a 2002 Fatboy for MSRP plus setup. I highly
recommend a visit to this dealer for your Harley needs. Will do business
again!" - ST 10/01
"Recently bought a 2002 Fat Boy - this dealership
is EXCELLENT! They really care about their customers - their knowledge of
parts is great - service is top-notch! Prices are very close to MSRP. I
HIGHLY recommend them!" - RW 03/02 "Neidengards is the best ever. I
bought a '97' Ultra from them and also a 2000 1200 Sportster for my wife. We
have had excellent service from their service department. They do everything
they can to make a customer for life. I just ordered a 2003 100th
Anniversary Model. This makes the third bike I have purchased from them and
it probably won't be the last. They sell at MSRP and the price they give
everyone includes setup, freight and prep. GREAT DEALS! ! ! I have never
been sorry for doing business with Neidengards. Try them, you will like
them. Their service and sales people are very knowledgeable about every
aspect of your motorcycle." - JM 07/02 "Can't say enough good things about these people! We
bought a 2002 Fat Boy three years ago - and now bought an 2005 Deluxe & 2005
Ultra. Neidengard's is the ONLY dealer in our area that we would even
consider buying from. They are not only friendly, but they know their
stuff! Their prices are great too." - RW 12/04 |

BUCKMINN'S H-D
Xenia, OH
|
"Sells to Xenia HOG members first (order bikes in
June) rest of public orders bikes in July - campout in parking lot until
day of ordering to be on a list." - HB 11/99 "I had no trade, did the deal on the phone as they had one of
three models I wanted. Did the paperwork the next day for MSRP + about
$400 F/H, was riding that day. Outstanding sales, fantastic parts,
full accessories. Owner personally gave new bike tour/checkout.
Active huge HOG Chapter. I'm lucky to have such a great shop
nearby!" - RN 8/01
"Finally got a tire balancer, but new SM doesn't let customers talk
directly to the techs any more. Also don't seem to be doing as much
machine work. Store owners are decreasing support for the HOG chapter,
eliminating some cost sharing and charging the chapter for facilities
use." MR 9/01
'"Buckminn's sells at $500 over MSRP, then adds setup and freight. The
offer a 15% discount on anything you buy when you pick up the bike (mine
was extended to about 6 weeks). The salesman was very knowledgeable and
kept me informed on my order. They are moving to a new store with more
floor space, but the old store had quite a bit of space for motorclothes
and accessories." - CA 05/03 |

"I just bought a 2002 FLHT Standard at this
dealership and everyone made this a great experience. I travel all across
the U.S. with my job, so I get plenty of chances to visit a lot of dealers.
This dealer gave me a great price, a really fair trade for my '88 FLHTC
(more than any other dealer had offered). The sales people, the service
people all took time with me, answered any question I had and was very
friendly. Any concerns with service I have had has been handled
professionally and quickly. Sure, they only sell in their area but I am glad
I live inside of that area. Thanks everyone at Fink's for the great
service." - CA 01/02 "I ordered a new 2002 FXST from this dealer and
paid MSRP, and picked the time I wanted to take delivery, it was in on the
week I requested. The sales staff and parts determent went out of their way
to help me with any questions I had, they explain things to me and told me
if I had any questions once I got home to just call and they would try to
help. They made my purchase a great experience. I am glad to be in their
service area." - RS 03/02 "Bought my first Harley from Fink's this year. Salesman
was very helpful and worked to get me on a bike at the price I wanted to
pay. Right at MSRP for 2004 Softail Deuce." - DA 12/04 |
