"I bought an 01 FXDXT below MSRP and out of state.
They didn't give me a hard time being out of state. This was the only
bike they were selling below MSRP because they were pushing to get that
model on the streets. The other bikes were all at MSRP with no
unwanted accessories added. There were no surprises other than very friendly
people from the owner to the parts mgr and the service mgr. It is a
family run business that sponsors a HOG chapter. The HOG chapter
president was very nice and talked to me for while. I would definitely
recommend this dealership. Good people!" - AS 02/01 "I can honestly
say Cox's is the best dealership I have ever dealt with. when I have a
problem it don't take the service manager long to get my bike in and get it
right. and the up front gang.. great. and all the lovely ladies.. the hog
members are great to. you can always bet on a good joke at every meeting. If
ya ain't got a bike and want one I highly recommend them. they got to be ok
I've been dealing with them since 1980 when I bought my first Harley. give 'em
a try." - KL 03/02 "Bought a '03 RK Classic from Cox HD. The price
was lower than anyone else and I was out of state. Because of this site I
called Cox HD and told them what I wanted. They didn't have the bike but
said one was on its way. I checked with a few other dealers before calling
back and when I did, the salesperson said the bike had arrived. I sent a
check overnight (should have sent a certified check so I would have to wait
until it cleared) but once it did, it was green lights! However, before the
check had cleared the parts manager pull the custom's I wanted and the
service manager got the bike ready. Still apprehensive about the deal,
(Would it be as discussed? Would the bike be what I expected?), I arrived to
find my name on the perfect bike. All was as discussed. The owner did the
paperwork since the salesperson I'd worked with was out. While that was
being done, a knowledgeable service manager went over the bike and spent as
much time as I wanted discussing the operational/maintenance details. After
this, I chose some apparel, we loaded the bike and I drove the 350 miles
back to my home state. The salesperson, (still haven't met him) called the
following Monday to see if everything was okay. We forgot the stock seat
that was taken off the bike so they sent it UPS. What else could you ask
for? I highly recommend them. No wonder they're number one in the nation for
customer service! They deserve it!" - LH 10/02 "They are the best around. Although Cox's isn't the
closest or easiest to get to dealer for me, I chose them when I purchased my
'04 Road King. They charged MSRP plus a modest set-up fee, and they gave me
a good discount on parts added at time of purchase. Everyone I dealt with
bent over backwards to make the purchase go quickly and smoothly, especially
parts people and the service department. A LOT of parts were added, and
there was a lot of opportunity to mess up, but everything went extremely
well. Delivery was outstanding, (there is a difference, when it's done
right) and service after the sale has continued to keep me happy. This isn't
my first Harley, but it is my first from Cox's. I plan to buy at least one
more in my lifetime, and it will be from Cox's" - JH 07/04 "I had
some major work done on my bike earlier this year and was quite disappointed
with the service department at Cox's. The service sales guys seemed to have
trouble telling the truth. Firstly the job took about forty percent longer
to complete that I was told and it cost about 25% more that the original
estimate. New parts that had not been discussed were installed on my bike
without any my knowledge until I went to pick the bike up. When I called to
check the status of my bike I felt like the service people twisted and
misrepresented the truth. The service folks "tickled my ears", telling me
something I wanted to hear, whether it was true or not. Bottom line is that
even though they are the closest dealer to me, I have no plans to return to
Cox. I will take my business elsewhere." - JR 10/05 |

"After having a less than pleasant experience with
Greensboro HD I turned to Davis in Search of an 02 Electra-Glide. Although
all of their allotment was sold for the year they called me as soon as they
found one. They sold me the bike at MSRP, matched Greensboro's setup charges
and got me out the door for the same or less than the other dealer. I have
owned plenty of motorcycles but this is my first Harley. I love the sound
and ride but some of the "little things" suck. For instance, in the first
week the horn doesn't work, the gas cover doesn't lock and the fork lock
rarely works. But I still like the bike. One of the many things that turned
me off about Greensboro was their salespeople. A floor salesman stated the
he could stamp H-D on DogS**t and sell it. Well, not to me. Anyway, Davis
Harley is building a huge new facility to be opened in October and I think
their general manager is a stand up cat who worked hard for my hard earned
cash and I would be happy to do business with them again." - JB 04/02
"I ordered a 2002 from Davis's in August of 2001. However prior to it's
delivery I found one at Greensboro H-D. I called the salesman at Davis's and
explained the situation. His response was "Hey great, if it's the bike you
want get it. We'll be glad to switch your deposit to parts or accessories."
No hassles at all. After arriving home from picking the bike up at
Greensboro, I realized it was very poorly set up. The handlebars were not
aligned, the clutch was not properly adjusted, among other smaller items.
Later that day I went to Davis's to order accessories and in the process
mentioned to one of the Technicians the problems with the bike. He stopped
what he was doing, told me to roll it in, and promptly corrected all faults.
It's obvious that these guys care and take a lot of pride in their work.
Shop Foreman and Senior Tech are really on their game. General Manager,
Sales, Parts, and whole staff that I've encountered are very competent and
friendly. They earn your business. Fully Recommend!" - AW 09/02
"Great dealer, bought a 2003 Wide-Glide. Great salesman. Great price. I
would go back again in a heartbeat. Interested in seeing their new
facility. Drove 5 hours to buy my bike, live in Charleston SC. Wished they
owned the dealership here." - KB 04/03 |

"I purchased a new bike from Durham HD July '01. I drove
four hours each way to buy from them. The service mgr. and sales mgr. (CH)
treated me like gold. Price was 2k under my local dealer. I'm going to buy
from them again this year." - CM 01/02 "Nice people, everyone went
out of their way to be helpful. There are a LOT of used bikes on the floor
along with MANY new Sportys. They say they sell at MSRP,,,, and I didn't do
a line by line item. They gave me a price of 18,500 out the door for a Road
King Classic, no alarm,,, basic black. I'm not sure what the tax rate here
is, but at 6% + 16,995 + 240 shipping = 18269.10 leaving $230.90 for setup?
Sounds good to me. Also, the RK is coming in June, and can be changed if
ordered before April." - LB 03/02 "These guys are excellent! C.H. is
such a great guy, and their prices are pretty amazing. I bought my 2002
1200 XLC from C.H., and saved $900.00 over what my local dealer wanted (in
Wilmington). The Raleigh store, which is about 20 minutes from the Durham
store, wanted $1700.00 more for the bike! Durham beat everybody's price,
without exception (I even checked with stores in S.C, and FLA). Great
prices and people." - CM 04/02 "Be careful with the service dept at Sheltons HD of
Durham. They recently changed hands and I've seen some problems. 1)
scratched saddle bags during a rear tire replacement; 2) installed
aftermarket mufflers on wrong sides of bike; 3) installed spacers on front
wheel on wrong side and had to be corrected by another dealer while on a
trip; 4) possibly changed tires without putting in new tubes (had a blow out
and another dealer claims this was the case). Service dept seems to be
struggling with finding qualified motorcycle mechanics since dealership
changed hands. Be careful and look over the work real well if you use these
guys." - DM 06/04
"These guys are great. I bought my 2003 FLHTI
through Durham HD. When it came time to pick up I found out that they been
bought by Shelton's. Durham HD basically took about 30+ deposits and then
sold out to Shelton's. The bikes were never ordered. Shelton's took over and
gave people the option of their deposit back, try and order them their '03,
or order them an '04. They didn't have to do any of this. They put my
accessories on for free, etc. The went out of their way to make my
experience good. Lots of legal things went on with their purchase from
Durham HD. As to the service issue. I have had nothing but top notch service
there. I talked with someone about the previous comment. They researched it
and the next time I was in they pulled me aside and explained that the
mechanic was a holdover from Durham HD and that the person is now at one of
the other shops under going extensive training. These guys love Harley's and
it shows. The experience from sales, service to parts has been nothing but
exemplary." - KG 09/04 "I had a great experience with Durham H-D in late \'03. I
was on a list with a deposit down during the Shelton\'s transition. Got a
call from the new manager asking if I still wanted the bike which they
showed to be coming in soon. I got the exact bike I wanted at the original
price I was quoted. They added the accessories I picked out and worked with
my shipper to get the bike delivered to me. Very nice people. I would highly
recommend from my experience!" - AD 10/05 |

"I put a deposit down in March 99 for a
2000 model fxdx, but I had changed my mind and since then switched to a low rider.
This is the second Harley I've bought from this dealer in the past five years. It
seems as though you have been misinformed, when I spoke to him about his markup he told me
everyone pays the same markup and it doesn't matter if you live in the area or not. I was
quoted a price of 15445.22 for the fxdx out the door, (that's fxdx not fxdl). Since then
I've checked some of the other dealers in the NC area and you were right on with them.
Unfortunately I can't get my deposit back now without loosing half of the $1000.00 and the
bike hasn't been ordered yet" - DC 8/99
"The parts counter people are very courteous and helpful, even
when buying small odds & ends for older bikes they are helpful, and
quick they also have a counter w/some very useful aftermarket parts/accessories."

"$1400 over MSRP + a waiting list" - K 7/99 "Price of bikes is
$1500 to $2000 over MSRP." - RM 03/02 "Carolina H-D does not sell for
MSRP. They add on between 2500 to 3000 dollars depending on the model." - RM
11/02 "Carolina H-D does not sell to people outside a 60-mile radius of
the dealership. I called for an out-of-state friend who was looking for a
specific model they had in stock & that's when I found out about the policy.
The new store is huge & real fancy, if you like that kinda stuff. I've
dealt with them for help putting my race engine project together & for parts
- both service & parts personnel, as well as the owner have been very
helpful & they do some real nice, detailed custom work. Even though
there's another dealership closer to me, I still go to Carolina H-D for
parts because I know I'll get waited on in a timely manner & get the right
part the 1st time, plus I've always been treated well." - AN 08/03 |

"I bought a New 2000 883 custom Sportster from
Goldsboro and they were extremely nice and sold at MSRP. The sales manager
forgot to get a signature on one document and came to my house the next
night after he got off to get it. When we picked up the bike the owner
took about 2 hrs. to go over every detail on the bike and was very throw
and even staid late when the closed and helped me load my other 2 bikes on
the trailer. I usually go to the Smithfield store because they are close
and the service all my bikes and are like family every time my wife and I
come in. I wouldn't go any where else to buy a bike." - RS 7/01 "He
does not sell at MSRP. I bought a 2001 883Hugger and also had to purchase a
$500.00 accessory package! All for $8200.00!" - MD 10/01 "I'm renting
a Road King next weekend and will give everyone a report on my travels. The
Smithfield store is usually for 'pre-owned' bikes, but they will be selling
new ones shortly. Nice people here too, BUT, they have a little flim-flam
going. The same RKs I checked out at the previous dealers were going for
20,100 here. Now for the deal... there is a $600 REBATE so the bike is
really selling at 19,500. They also 'give' you 1,000 worth of doo-dads
bringing the sales price to 18,500. Too many flim-flams for me... but not
$2,000 over MSRP as is the case for many dealers according to some." - LB
03/02 "Mixed experience, some good, some bad. 2002 FXDWG. Package price
included first service ($200), $1000 worth of accessories (I would have
spent this money anyway, so it was ok), and 1 hour of labor to install
the accessories. The deal also included a $500 rebate. Shelton, the owner,
did a wonderful job going over all the ins and outs of the bike when I
picked it up. Not so goods. Put my name on the list in April, had to pay a
deposit. Was told the bike would arrive begining of June, maybe
earlier. Really arrived end of June. Asked salesman if carb should
be rejetted since I was adding SE breather kit and pipes. He said no. He
later asked another salesman who said I should install the
Thunderslide kit. I asked my salesman to add this to the options. He said
ok, but I found it was not done. Bike is running lean because of this." -

"Sells bikes at MSRP, F/P, TTL. Local Members get
first priority but a deposit is required. Not local, no deposit
requirement. The BEST follow up I've ever had. First day home with the
bike, a call, second day, a call. Third day, a letter. All wanting to know
if everything was OK with the bike and Thanks for the purchase. Sales,
Parts and Service people were all introduced by the sales lady. Yea, Sales
Lady and she knows her stuff. I've been ridding Harleys since 1976 and
this is one of the best dealers in the State in all areas. Highly
Recommend." - RM 1/00
"Haven't actually visited their shop but contacted them with regard
to ordering of an FLSTC. They advertise that they sell at MSRP (+Fees).
Orders are from a list and sell only to NC residents with an approx
6-month wait. When I asked about their fees I was told to add $1700 to the
MSRP! I suppose that one might say that they sell at $1700 over MSRP if
one considers the fees as a part of the selling price. Hmmm. The sales
manager was quick to point out that they were $1000 to $3000 cheaper than
most of their competitors. So it goes." - LH 6/01
"Greensboro H-D uses a waiting list to purchase new motorcycles. I
visited Greensboro, and asked to be placed on the list for a new FLSTC.
The salesperson told me it would take about 6 months to get a bike. After
the 6 months had passed I began trying to call Greensboro to see if I was
getting close to riding. Every time that I called the salesperson was busy
and they would never return any of my calls. After 10 months of waiting I
finally gave up and purchased a new bike somewhere else. This was in 1999
and I still have never heard from Greensboro H-D. I wouldn't buy so much
as a t-shirt from these people and I sincerely hope that they go
bankrupt!" - BB 6/01
"I would like everyone to know the sales department and service

"I need to share my experience with Greensboro Harley. They had an
open house on Sunday, March l7th. That is when I saw and sat on the 883
Sportster Hugger for the first time. The sales person I spoke with that
day told me because it was Sunday they could not sell bikes. Okay, sounds
reasonable. On Monday, it was back to work for me but I dreamed of owning
that bike. By Wednesday, I applied for and was pre-approved for Harley
Credit. I called Greensboro and spoke to the lady who introduced herself
as the sales manager. I told her I was pre-approved, and I wanted the
Hugger on her floor. She said, you must come down here immediately,
before 12, with cash to hold the bike (at least 10% of the purchase
price). Well, I looked at the clock, 1/2 hr ride to the dealership, and I
had to hit the bank, it would be tight, and I could do it. I was on my
way out the door, when my phone rang. My daughter needed a ride to the
doctors with her 2 week old baby. I called them and explained my
situation to the same saleslady, and I assured her I would be there before
the day was out, and she said, "Well then, I can't promise you that bike!
It wasn't until I was in the pediatricians waiting room that it hit me. I
AM THE CUSTOMER, I WANTED TO SPEND MONEY IN HER STORE. WHY, was she
treating me like this? Well, later that day, after my daughter and
granddaughter was settled down, my husband took me to Curly's H-D approx.
20 miles down the road from Greensboro. H-D. I picked out hugger, the
salesman took my check to hold the bike, never asked for cash, and when I
picked it up he again took my check for the balance. He was courteous,
and made me feel like I was important. I'll go back there in a heartbeat.
As for Greensboro H-D, well, you be the judge! For me, I won't buy a tee
shirt from them!" - PG 04/02
"Dealer does not accept trade-in, not even another Harley, sells used
bikes on consignment, so if you have an 2002 Harley and you Want an 2003,
go somewhere else." - JS 09/02
In September I stopped by this dealership to check on the availability
of a 2003 Road Glide. The Sales mgr and I discussed the price and I was ok
with the numbers. I told them that I would have to sell my 99 Fatboy
first. The sales mgr told be they do not take bikes as trade ins but that
they would be happy to consign it for me for a fee. The fee is $63.00 to
go over the bike and make sure it is in good shape and detail/clean the
bike prior to putting it on the floor. Also their fee is $1500.00 from the
sale of the bike. I told the sales mgr all that I had on the bike. V&H
pipes, S&S carb, Single fire ignition, Single fire coil, RevTech pushrods,
plus lots of chrome and other stuff. When I mentioned I had an Andrews cam
the Sales mgr told me that this could be a problem since they would not be
able to sell the bike with a warranty but they would be able to sell it
anyway. I called the dealership on 16-Oct-02 to let them know that I
wanted to consign my bike and the sales person said come on down. I
brought my bike in for them to consign it. We got started on the paperwork
and I was really excited to have them put it on the floor. After
completing all the paperwork I was told that the sales mgr would have to
approve it. The sales person that was assisting me told me that the Sale
mgr was at lunch and that I would have to wait. Well after 45 minutes of
waiting I still did have an answer from the Sales mgr who I hadn't seen
yet. After another 20 minutes my ride came to get me. I went back inside
to see what the hold up was and I was told that the Sales mgr has decided
not to accept my bike due to the aftermarket cam. I could not believe
this. After all the stories I have heard about Harley cams, as a consumer
I would welcome a bike with a cam such as Andrews. The reason was that
they would not be able to sell a warranty ( Dealer Profit) with the bike.
I asked the sales person assisting me to get the Sales mgr so that I could
discuss the reasoning behind this decision. I was hoping that we could
come to an agreement and get the bike on the floor. Well the waiting
started all over again. After another 20 minutes I walked back in to the
see the sales person. I told the sales person that I still had not seen
the Sales mgr. When I discussed the cam issue with the sales person his
only reply was that I would have to see the Sales mgr. At this point the
sales person paged the Sales mgr. I saw the Sales mgr come out onto the
sales floor. I thought ok now we can discuss this and get to a resolution.
As I approached the Sales mgr to discuss the issue the Sales mgr turned to
a customer on the floor and started a discussion. This discussion was then
continued in her office. I stood there with my jaw on the floor. That was
the last straw. I told the sales person that I worked with in the very
beginning to give me my title and other papers back and said that I was
leaving. I told him that I felt mistreated and informed him that I was
ready to buy a $20K from this dealership but now I would not spend a dime
here. I also mentioned that I will never set foot in this dealership
again. I figured that I would get a response of some type to get me to
stay. But I got nothing...not even a sorry. They let me walk right out the
door. It's this lack of customer service that really pisses me off. I am
there to spend my hard earned $ and I get treated like a second rate
consumer. All this could have been averted if they told me right up front
that they could not take the bike on consignment. I suggest that anyone
going to this dealership to be aware. Be prepared to be treated poorly if
you can not make the dealership any $. - PT 10/02
"I have nothing but good things to say about this dealership. I
purchased a 2002 Road King from them in March for MSRP plus $450 for bike
set-up. They did every thing they could to make me happy." - RM 11/02
"I recently broke down in High Point and ended up having one of the
best service experiences at HD of High Point that I've had anywhere.
First of all, one phone call and a truck and trailer showed up in less
than half an hour. Being a small shop, they don't have a lot of service
technicians, so the one that did the work on my bike also picked me up,
dropped me off at the hotel, etc. The technician did a good job of
methodically diagnosing the problem and working with their sister shop in
Greensboro and an independent shop to obtain and fix parts in short
order. Their technician was highly experienced and knowledgeable. The
service writer took initiative and asked if I had the extended service
contract. I seemed to recall having purchased that. He confirmed with HD
and later told me all the repair work was covered. I appreciated that the
dealership did not try to put the whole bill on me. Excellent shop all
around!" - CD 01/04
"I was in the market for a new bike and stopped in at HD of High Point
to get a quote. I was greeted by the store's manager (who is also the only
bike salesman) and treated with very courteously. He finished up with his
current customer and immediately turned his attention to my needs. I had a
Honda goldwing to trade on the new bike and while they don't take Honda's
as trades he took the info down on the bike and after I left he promptly
went to work trying to find a means for me to sell my bike at my desired
price. Ultimately I did sell my bike privately but he did broker a back up
sale for me if my private sale didn't materialize. My experience on buying
a 2005 Ultra was great. Pricing was at msrp or lower, no talk of any
surcharges and he brought a new bike over from their sister dealership for
me to check out. He arranged for a demo ride without a concern. Never once
did they give me attitude on my trade bike or during negotiations. A great
bunch of people to work with. 5 stars in my book!" - JS 10/04

could not be happier with the price, service and customer care. The sales

"I was looking for a 2003 Sportster Sport. Living
in Columbia, SC, there is not one on the dealers’ regular order and
nothing available. I checked the web and found that most authorized
HD dealerships had very poor websites if you’re looking seriously.
The site for HD/Buell of Charlotte had an up to date list of bikes on
hand, complete with pictures. I saw what I was looking for. I called and
talked to a salesperson. He and I talked for a couple of days on the
telephone until I decided to send him a deposit without ever looking at
the bike. They sell at true MSRP and have the nicest selection of
bikes I have ever seen. I was equally impressed with the
professionalism and perfection used to complete the sale and paperwork.
Because the stealers in Columbia already had an overstock of Fat Boys, I
put my ‘01 Fat Boy there for sale (they take $995 for a fee). They
also gave me a free 1000 mile service coupon! I have no complaints
about Harley Haven in Columbia, but I must say that the staff I met in the
sales and service area of HD/Buell of Charlotte really seemed to be a step
above the rest. When it comes time to do performance work, I’ll be
making the 95mile drive up to Charlotte." - CC 03/03
"2005 E-Glide Classic--black--MSRP is $17,795. First quote from the sales
lady was $19,589. After getting quotes elsewhere they reluctantly said
that $18,600 was "do-able" which I interpreted as a real offer. While on
the way to inspect a used Glide a few minutes later I get a call from the
lady saying her boss says forget it, can't sell at $18,600, that $18,900
is the best they can do and really questioned my competitive quotes (which
were REAL)--this after telling her I was going to view the used one. She
asked if I wanted to speak to her boss and I said NO! They were playing
good-cop/bad cop with me and it really pissed me off, so I bought the used
one (much better deal too). Later that day she calls and says that after
a long chat with boss they can sell at $18,600 again. Thanks but no
thanks--don't retract a price if you want to sell a bike." - BB 12/05 |

"Well I'm currently stationed in Quantico, VA and
miss the great service I received in the North Carolina New Bern HD.
Seems to me that they could give other dealers here in Va. a lesson in
customer service. I've had a lot of work done on my 97 Heritage
there at the New Bern dealer. Have also purchased parts there and
they are great. The staff is knowledgeable and will go the extra
mile to make sure you get exactly what it is you want. Most
importantly if there is going to be a problem with a modification your
planning on, they let you know first. And if your feeling courageous
and want to turn a wrench on your own, they'll even give you tips on how
to do it right. You're the best in my book. Thanks for all
your support." - PR 7/01 "Great dealership! I was on my way to the

told me to look at my rear brakes on my 2001 Roadglide. To my surprise, I
noticed the pads were almost to the metal. I asked the service writer if he
could help me out. It wasn't a problem, he had me in and out within 2 hours
and I got an oil change also. Gave me a great deal as well and he warranties
the brake job. I thought that was great! I have nothing but praise for this

with a friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and professional from motorclothes

Fatboy from H-D of New Bern . The Staff was great I priced all around North
Carolina and New Bern had some of the same price's as other dealers that
sell at MSRP. I live in Wilmington NC and it was well worth the hour and
forty-five minute drive to New Bern . Also they give you $500 worth of
accessories of your choice with the purchase of a bike .GREAT PLACE AND HIGH
PRAISE FOR THE STAFF!" - SC 01/02 "I'm finishing the construction of an EVO custom in a
rigid frame. As anyone who has done a ground up can testify, you don't
always get everything perfect. I've been to the New Bern H-D shop to get
parts and accessories and have found them to be very helpful. They are good
people who don't pretend to know everything, but will ask until the true
answer emerges. They have to put food on the table just like me. I
wouldn't call them a "stealership" because of that. They've been through the
lean times, so don't knock them because these days are better for them." -

(closest one to where I live) and when I walked up to the parts counter and
got the salesman's attention, he scoffed at me and was very rude the entire
time. I don't know if it's because I'm 19 with a crew-cut (active duty
military), but he made it seem like I was wasting his time even though
nobody else was around. I couldn't get through to him that all I needed was
the plastic lens, even though I pointed directly to the piece when he
brought up the display on the computer. He finally told me it was $89.99,
which is totally nuts, and then he told me that if I didn't like the price I
could go elsewhere. I ended up getting the same part for $13.99 at a local
cycle repair shop. A couple other people at my base have had the same
problem with the attitude of "I'm so tough just be! cause I ride a Harley"
towards younger military members. The older riders at my unit say they've
never had a problem, but most people I know under 25 that go to that shop
are usually given a hard time." - JH 05/04 |

"Sandhill Cycle sells Harleys for MSRP. There
is a waiting list though. He takes orders in Feb for the next year
models. The owners name is Darryl and he is great to work with.
Parts prices are not bad either." - KB 5/00
"This dealership sells at MSRP. Of course,
they have no new bikes in the showroom. They take orders in Feb. and
July. You will need a $500 deposit to place an order. I paid
$5300 for an 883 there in 1998. They provide no financing, so you
will need to have everything lined up before you get there. I have
no experience with the parts or service departments." - GG 6/01
"They sell bikes at MSRP. Have 1 good mechanic. Owner will treat you like
crap, unless you are one of his doctor/lawyer buds. Counter help is clueless
and SLOW. Bikes left for service are stored inside at night, but rolled
outside during business hours... rain or shine. Mine was left out in the
rain for a week. My advise? Buy your new scoot here, but don't take it back
for any reason. Use Cape Fear H-D for service, parts and repair." - CC 03/02 |
RAY PRICE H-D
Raleigh, NC

|
"For a 1999 HD Sportster 883 hugger , they want
$11,000. While I like the people there, their almost $5,000 over list,
this is too much." - BZ 5/00 "Ray Price was the highest of every place I visited and was $2000 over MSRP." - LJ 3/01
"I was shopping for a FXDWG in the summer of 2000. The price given
to me at Ray Price H-D was ridiculous. I was given a price of $23,500 plus
tax, fees, etc. I balled up the salesman's card when I walked out of the
door and threw it in the trash. I was insulted that they thought I was
that ignorant. I bought a new FXDWG off the show room floor a few weeks
later from another dealer only a few hours away and paid $16,600." -
CG 7/01
"Well, I know 2nd hand that this dealer is a stealer based on the
very highly inflated prices that he quotes on new bikes. But I also know
1st hand that their customer service/sales is horrible! TRUE Story here, I
swear! I am local and in January 2000 I called about a getting a 2000 Road
King. The salesman informed me that they didn't have any right then but
because I was very flexible in what I wanted that he could have me one in
no more than 4 months. I agreed, told him I would be paying cash in full
for the bike and offered to give him a deposit at which time he stated
that, that would not be needed and that he would just call me when the
bike was in. I gave him both my home and business numbers. WELL, it's now
August 2001 and guess what? I'm still waiting for that phone call!
Well, not really because I took my money and gave it to one of his
competitors. I guess he doesn't need anymore business, besides who wants
cash laying around anyway." - MS 8/01
"They have a very cool looking new store with tons of OVER priced
stuff. I went in looking to buy a new Sportster 1200 Custom and told them
I'd leave a deposit if they made me a half decent deal. The salesman told
me they wouldn't come down on price(1 - 2K over MSRP depending on the
model) period. So I left and headed out to the Durham NC dealer and saved
myself $1500.00 by going 20 minutes down the road. The Durham dealer has
been great so far. I'll post a full review of the Durham dealer after I
get my bike and have some more experience with them.
My recommendation is STEER CLEAR of the Ray Price shop if you don't want
to get ripped off." - CT 03/02
"I found this dealership on stealer-dealer.com/id, followed the link, good
website, found a 2000 FLHTPI for $14,995.00, fully converted to civilian
Electra Glide, (tourpak, deluxe seat, etc..). They would not budge on the
price, but, it was thousands less than any similar bikes I found in the
greater Atlanta area. I did the whole deal over the phone and fax, Flew to
Raleigh. The salesman picked me up at the airport, I test rode the bike,
signed the papers, handed over my check and I was on the road in about an
hour. Every one I met (staff) at the dealership was nice, they still use
some very silly sales techniques, like ringing the big bell after I signed
my papers? The bike was just as represented, the price was just as we
agreed to on the phone. I flew from up from Atlanta to get this bike
because I refused to pay the Atlanta prices, of course, I didn't see many
other deals on the floor at Ray Price Harley" - LB 04/02
"Stopped in the other day. Nice people but $20,604 out the door on a
Road King. I couldn't get them to line item the parts/tax/prep
fees/license, they kept dancing around that part... all they wanted to do
was give me an out-the-door price. LIst price with the options I wanted
plus tax is $17,987.85. Leaving a whopping difference of 2,616.15
which means to me that they charge somewhere around 616.15 more or less
for setup/license fees/etc. Which makes the bikes $2,000 over MSRP.
Whew... that's a long way to go for an answer they could have told me in
two seconds." - LB 04/02
"These guys are unbelievably expensive! I do not personally know of
anyone who has ever bought anything from these guys. I do, however, know
of many people who have bought from Durham H-D, about 20 minutes away.
Check it out--just pick up the phone and call 'em. Compare by phone.
You'll be entertained by the prices these guys are charging." - CM 04/02
"I have lived in Raleigh all my life, and believe me, they are
consistent with retail+ pricing. Very few if any deals. You go in, pay
their price, then get out. Use them if you have too. The people are
nice, the dealership building is new, hell, I reckon a man has to make an
honest profit." - NB 07/02
"I got a friend that just bought a 03 Fatboy from Ray's Friday 26th.
They had it listed for $23,800+, no extras, they wanted to charge for fuel
injection that the bike didn't have on it, after my friend balked at their
proposition, he wound up paying $21100 for the bike, because they said it
was the first one sold here in Raleigh. On top of this great deal, (if
that what you want to call it!) they wanted an extra $1400 for the
anniversary key and a couple of extra stickers that could be added to the
bike. Thank the Lord, he didn't go for that crap, hell, they should give
the key and a first class knob job for that kind of money. He did say they
rung the sales bell when he walked out of the salesman's office, I
expect he will get a Christmas card also for laying down like that. I
think his ankles are still black and blue." - NB 07/02
"I live in Raleigh & have known & dealt with Ray Price for around 30
years. Recently I tried to buy an Electra Glide Classic from them, but the
price was higher than anywhere else. When I found on at Rocky Mount HD &
gave Ray Price the chance to meet the price, they just laughed. So, I got
it from Rocky Mount, and have been very pleased with them. I also carried
my bike in for a state inspection. I was told it would only take a few
minutes (which I knew), so I waited. After over 30 minutes, I went to
check. They hadn't even started, and honestly, I think they forgot it.
Anyway, it took over 1 1/2 hours to get an inspection! Service people
aren't very friendly, or helpful. I recently bought a new tire from them
(they had a good sale). I was told it would take 15-20 minutes to mount
the tire on the rim (which I took off the bike). I had to leave the wheel
& pick it up the next day! When I picked it up, the labor was 45 minutes,
with an additional $11 for "accessories" (I assume weights!). The weights
slung off within two days. Bottom line: I'll never go back again!" - JY

"My two cents regarding my experience at Ray Price H-D.
Conveniently located on the south side (outskirts) of town right off the
beltway. Easy hour drive from Ft Bragg. I've seen some talk of Ray's
being over priced, like any motor vehicle dealership; I never stop at the
salesperson's 1st quote. My salesperson's first quote was $21,500 for '00
Deuce. An hour later, I had a $18,383.98 sales receipt in hand; not MSRP,
but not a 6 month wait either. Without asking, they did a Stage-I job on
the carb--no additional charge. Accommodated me on a Saturday for the
initial checkup given I was from out-of-town. Always easy to work with.
No gripes here." - KM 04/04"I purchased a 2003 Sporty from RP in
Aug 03. I priced it against 4 other dealers and RP was $2000 LESS than
the other dealers. Could be that they had 26 Sporty's left but the bike
was there and the price was real. As for the service department, first
class! They have always treated me well and cost of the service has
always been lower than the estimate. I now have over 10K miles on the bike
so I have used the service department several times. I'm expecting to
trade up to a Heritage and I'll still price it against others but I expect
RP will win my business again." - MD 07/04 "Rip off. Bikes
thousands over MSRP. I was going to pick up a black oil filter for my 03
FLSTF, $12 dollars for a $9.00 MSRP filter. The chrome ones were almost
$16.00. All they do is push t shirts and chopper mags. Don't waste your
time going there." - MO 08/04 "I bought a '03 FLSTFI in Nov '02
through a deployed military sales program for MSRP that was to be picked
up from Ray Price. The bike was great but the service I encountered was
less than could be desired. I visited the sales manager two days before
my scheduled pick-up and introduced myself and arranged a delivery time.
When I went to pick up the bike, the manager had no clue who I was and
treated me like a second class citizen. The bike wasn't ready and I
waited for a few hours before I finally tracked down the manager. He
raced through the paperwork, explained nothing, and passed me off to a
salesman who basically tossed me the keys and walked off. I feel that
because I didn't purchase the bike through them and pay their huge mark
up, they couldn't be bothered. I wouldn't recommend them when buying a
new bike, but I have gotten some good deals on parts and motorclothes that
were on sale." - PP 09/04 "I purchased my 05 FXDI from Ray Price.
In my opinion things went really smoothly. I bought my FXDI below MSRP. I
do not feel like I was shafted in any way. Don't get me wrong, I had to
do some haggling to get the price down but I feel I did end up with a good
deal. They let me ring the bell and made it my own personal experience.
Everyone came up and congratulated me. Very friendly experience. I hear
there are other dealers who may be cheaper but the service here was A+." -

"Rocky Mount is selling at MSRP" - HR 2/00
"I visited Durham, Burlington, Raleigh (twice), Fayetteville and
Rocky Mount Harley dealers looking for a '01 Dyna Wide Glide, I bought my
bike from Rocky Mount on 3/12 because they give me the bike for MSRP and
treated me the best. I was really "wined and dined" and I
appreciated the extra service I got from Rocky Mount. My bike will
be in on June 1st and it is everything I asked for with no added extras.
I was also assisted in getting insurance for my bike which was the
cheapest I could find in my area. I would not hesitate to buy my
next Harley from Rocky Mount and will tell all of my friends to go there.
ray price was the highest of every place I visited and was $2000.00 over
MSRP." - LJ 3/01
"I ordered a 2001 Ultra Classic Electra Glide from Rocky Mount H-D
in November of 2000. I've contacted the business twice ,and each time the
delivery date was pushed from April/May to June. What gives?" - JM
3/01
"Nice people and everyone was real helpful here too. Basic deal is
MSRP + $1,000 of add on doo-dads. They have RK's coming in also and have
Sporty's on the floor." - LB 03/02
"I bought an Electra Glide Classic from Rocky Mount and was treated
very well. Price was the best around and all the people are extremely
nice, and helpful. Of all the dealerships that I have dealt with, Rocky
Mount is the best all around, by far! I highly recommend them. I use
them for all service as well, and have had very good results. I can't
really think of anything to complain about, after two years of dealings.
By the way, I live in Raleigh, and have two other dealers that are
closer. I never go to them, though." - JY 08/02
"We had stopped at several dealerships when we were looking to buy a new
Harley and found ourselves in Rocky Mount, a three hour drive from where
we live. They were the friendliest, nicest, professional people we had
ever dealt with from the owner to the service dept. The price was about
$2,000 less than the other dealers. They delivered the bike to us at no
extra charge after doing the mods we wanted and treated us like royalty
while we were there. We have brought other people there to buy a bike and
they were just as pleased. Rocky Mount will get all of our future
business." - FB 03/04"I have wanted a bike since June of 04. I
went to Rocky Mount because of a Presidents Sale they were having. I ran
into the owner and he talked to me like we had been friends forever. I
found a Sportster that had been spruced up a little. I worked with a
salesman for about 30 minutes before we agreed on a price. I was with the
finance guy for 20 minutes and I was ready to leave with my new bike. If
you want a bike and are tired of a dealership not looking out for you, you
need to take a drive to Rocky Mount. I had a dealership within 20 minutes
of my house. I am so glad I drove the hour and a half to Rocky Mount.
Thanks guys. Your the best." - DP 03/05 |

"According to well known motorcycle publication, this
dealer sells new Harleys at or near MSRP" "They sell for MSRP plus $1500.00 for freight and
set-up. They even have bikes on the floor that are new and for sale."
- TS 3/00
"This is a great
dealer to work with. New bikes are MSRP plus $1500.00. But freight, set up
and doc fees are not inflated. So the out the door price is about the same
as other dealers in the area that are advertising at MSRP. The service
dept. is excellent. One of the oldest dealers in the area. Owner is a 7
time national motorcycle racing champion. This dealer is well worth
considering." - GS 4/01 "This is best place in the nation for Sportster
performance. They know a lot about big twins also. The
place is family owned and operated, and some of the nicest people I know. "
- AC 6/01 "The people at Tilley H-D are great. Everyone there from
the owner down to the mechanics make you feel like their best friend when
you walk in the door. They never forget a name or a face there. Great
place!" - BB 6/01 "My son and I stopped at Tilley's to arrange for
services on our dressers. The service dept. took us right away and had us
back on the road before noon. The atmosphere was very friendly both at the
service area and in the showroom. The bikes were filthy from riding in the
rain on the trip down from New Jersey, but when we got them back they looked
like they had just come off the show room floor. These are righteous people
who take pride in there work and seem to bend over backwards to help out of
state riders. Prices were reasonable with no pressure to sell you something
you didn't need." - RE 04/02 "I'm currently in the military and have
been riding Harleys for twenty years. I own a 55 Panhead chopper and 1982
shovelhead and decided I needed a new Harley and after much deliberation I
decided to purchase a Road King Classic. I'm the kind of guy that looks for
the best bag for the Buck. So I started calling dealers in- order to find
the best price, well after some intense research I found most dealers
located around my area (South Carolina, Charleston) were charging 3-4
thousand dollars over MSRP. Well this really pissed me off, so I decided to
search the internet for dealerships that sold HD at MSRP. Well I stumbled
across Tilley's and liked there out-the-door policy price. Well I ended up
purchasing a Road King Classic for $19,265 out the door. Additionally I
highly recommend Tilley's, they have excellent prices and there customer
service is beyond reproach." - JP 10/02 "I just wanted to say what a
pleasurable experience I just recently had with Tilley. I went to Tilley's
because I heard good things about them, and because around Atlanta the
prices are so high it makes it close to impossible to become a Harley
owner. I was a first-time Harley buyer, and they made me feel every bit at
home and at ease. My salesman and all the other employees were always
prompt in keeping me up to date with my order (I had to order my '03 FatBoy
FLSTF back in December). Their out-the-door policy makes it easy, and you
know what you're going to pay for the bike well in advance. In the end,
their price was about $1500 over MSRP, which includes setup and shipping of
the bike. That's still over $2k less than the best price I could have
gotten in Atlanta. I want to thank Tilley HD, and I'll be sure to recommend
all my friends to them.....and I look forward to buying my next Harley
through them as well!" - SF 03/03 Tilley's is one of those
dealers you *wished* you lived close enough to do business with on a regular
basis. I dropped by looking for a place to leave my truck since I had to
haul the bike out of the blizzards of NE OH to get to Bike Week. A coupla
dealers along the way weren't interested, Tilley's welcomed me with open
arms. After being greeted by the receptionist, like a long-lost friend I was
introduced to the Tilley's. I was only looking for a place to set up ramps
and unload but while I was getting introduced to just about everyone in the
dealership the Service Manager, had my bike unloaded! They have a very cool
hydraulic lift flush mounted in the pavement outside the service bays and
welcome those that need a place to unload and leave their cage on the way
south. While I wasn't looking the service guys wheeled my salt n crud
encrusted Ultra into a wash bay and gave it the 1st class spit n polish
treatment that I hadn't requested nor expected AND THEY WOULDN'T CHARGE A
DIME FOR IT! Now *that's* service! Tilley's sells for MSRP, 10% HOG
discount and the best service & friendliest folks I've run into in any
dealership! You folks that live close enough to do business there are just
plain lucky!" - TM 03/05 |

"Been dealing with Lummus HD for several years now, never been
disappointed. The shop, grounds and showroom are immaculate and there is
always FRESH coffee, both kinds (reg & unleaded). The restrooms are
spotless. The parts, shop and sales folks and owner are superb, all have a
smile and a good word and will go out of their way to help you. Any
problems I have had have been worked out cheerfully and to my
satisfaction. Couldn't give them a higher recommendation." - JD 02/01
"Nice, moderate sized facility. People are friendly and easy to
deal with. Lots of accessories. Knowledgeable staff. Do not maintain
inventory of new bikes in showroom but do have some used, customized and
drag bikes on floor. Will order bike for you at $1000 over MSRP plus
freight. Quoted price on 2001 Fatboy at $16,735 + $230 freight. Require
$1000 deposit to order with an 8 to 12 month wait." - LH 6/01
"Excellent parts department, Very helpful, have even the oddest parts in
stock. Even offered to ship parts to my home, almost 100 miles away for a
minimal charge." - DC 10/03 "My wife, me and another couple were heading to Asheville for the weekend
so I had to stop by Gene Lummus to pick up a t-shirt. While we were in
there, my friend, who'd been eyeing new Harleys saw a V-Rod for the first
time. The salesman gave him a price that was literally over $4000 cheaper
than our local dealer at home and without a bunch of add on charges like
prep or doc fees, etc. In addition, they had awesome customer service and
a great parts department. If they were closer, they would be my primary
H-D dealer. They are what a HD dealer should be." - LI 04/05 |

about 6 months from Maine to Miami back in 00' and when I was ready to order
I went to Crossroads while I was doing paperwork with Dave Lang the salesman
he told me about a new FLSTC someone ordered and backed out on , in 2 days I
had my scoot (the FLSTC) at MSRP plus tax. I have since been back several
times and once due to an accident. late me tell you they put the bike back
together better than new and the entire staff is very professional and
friendly. I highly recommend these guys to anyone in the tri-state area." -

"I have had dealings with them several times over
the years. One of the owners is very rude about all the time. I called and
told the owner I would like to order a Fat Boy. She said she would have a
salesman call me back. I have caller id, they never called me back. I took
my $17,600.00 cash and went to Fayetteville, NC and ordered one to arrive
in 4 months!" - RG 6/01
"I have visited this dealership many, many times and the results
are always the same. Owner is very unfriendly and doesn't care if
you get waited on or not. I tried to deal with them once on buying a new
FLSTC and because they didn't have one available they tried to push
another type of bike on me. Never will they call you back if you
call and ask to speak with a salesperson. In all fairness they do
have an excellent parts manager. It sure would be great for this
dealership to sell to someone who cares about sales, service and ALL
people as equal. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to my worst
enemy." - JC 7/01
"It's hard to deal with some people in Carolina Coast H-D. The old
building was so crowded, but the new building is wonderful. More room,
more bikes more parts on sales floor. But service to customers needs to be
improved. The little short guy behind the parts counter has an attitude,
when he has to go somewhere like for instance my wife and I were in the
store around closing didn't know what time they closed. And the short guy
said I've got some place to be come back tomorrow. WOW! He didn't want us
to spend any money at all or didn't care. He is very rude when he speaks
to others. He was talking to another employee a big guy and bit his head
off in front of us. This man was trying to help us since he didn't want
to. The short guy didn't like him trying to help us after he refused to
help us. We drove over sixty miles to see the new store. I think the
owners should know about this nut case that is working in his store. Just
concern." - JM 8/01
"The owner of this shop should stay at home--it would actually help her
business! She is about as unfriendly as anyone could possibly be. Her
husband, who is in and out of the store, has slightly better people
skills. The big parts guy is a real help, as well as the service guys (M
& K). The prices are okay, but I found a better price about 90 minutes
away (Durham), and it was WELL worth the drive." - RM 04/02
"We visited the store today, just to see what they had and and to check
prices. We bought several items. The sales girl was Superior. She treated
us like she really enjoyed us being in that store. I can tell you this
Cape Fear HD in Fayetteville NC SURELY did not treat myself or others with
anything except contempt, and very rude comments. The yuppie chicks that
work in Cape Fear need to find a desk job. Hats off to Coastal Carolina HD
in Wilmington NC. Great customer service. We'll be back." - LS 06/02
"Terrible service department. Very long wait just to get your bike in
and then another long wait to get it back. Then there's a good chance it
wasn't properly fixed. They have a serious shortage of good techs. They
keep a decent supply of parts in stock, but their selection of clothes,
boots and leather is slim. Never seen a store of this size with such a
small variety of product to choose from." - BA 08/02
"I have purchased two motorcycles from this dealership. I bought a 2003
Sportster 1200 Custom in July 2003 and then went back and purchased a 2003
Heritage Softail in October 2003. They do not sell at MSRP, but there
mark-up was not unreasonable in my opinion. I spent about $1500 over MSRP
on both bikes, however, the 1000 mile maintenance is free. I checked
other dealers in my area and their prices were the best I found, but what
made me buy a second bike from them was the quality of service I received
from them. The salesman that sold me the bikes was top-notch. He was
upfront and honest every step of the way. The service department is
absolutely great. They are down to earth guys who do not try to BS you and
they were very helpful with my personal customization of the bikes. If I
buy another Harley I will buy it from them." - SA 11/03 |

"I delivered my 1997 FLHTCI aboard a trailer because each
time the motorcycle was driven, a very loud and substantial "thump" was felt
in the frame when turning tight right or lefts. I was originally told that
the problem was a broken front wheel bearing. I asked them to also check the
steering bearings. Three weeks later I called to see when the bike might be
ready. I was told three successive Fridays on three different occasions by
the owner. I finally returned to the dealership and retrieved my bike.
Turned out to be a loose front engine mount. Another dealer, Shelton's
satellite store in Smithfield, located and solved the problem. I was lied to
on three separate occasions and on the day I finally went to pick up the
bike the mechanic told me he had been on his honeymoon and had just gotten
back." - BB 03/02 "Our entire family has been riding bikes now for
about two years and we've dealt exclusively with them on all of our
purchases and maintenance concerns. Both my father and myself have
purchased new bikes from them within the past year and have been thoroughly
impressed with their entire organization. We've found their staff to be
well organized and competent in their ability to answer product questions
regarding everything from drive train to accessories. It would not be as
important to note that however, if the three local dealerships haven proven
themselves to be difficult and stressful to work with. I have two friends
who will be buying bikes this spring and both will be making the two and a
half hour drive to Greenville to pick them up. They have also made
arrangements to help us raffle a new motorcycle off for a local area
charity. Their commitment to thorough product knowledge and customer
satisfaction has yet to be matched by any dealer I've ever visited." - JM

This Harley Davidson dealership is a cut above the rest. Within the
past 6 months my friends and I have purchased 3 new H-D's from J&E, plus
we have another one on order. You might think big deal, well it is a big
deal because we travel 300 miles to get to J&E to purchase these bikes. We
have H-D dealerships all around us, but none like J&E. What sets them
apart is the way you feel from the time you walk in the doors until the
time you leave. Each person in J&E from the owner down to the parts guys
to the mechanics makes you feel like family, it's a very personal
experience. The best part is how fair they treat you, not just when you
are making a purchase but when you need service advise or parts
information. Once you hook up with J&E you well see for yourself what I
have determined to be if not the best, one of the best Harley Davidson
dealerships out there. See for yourself." - JD 01/03
"I had a great experience with J&E H-D. The initial contact was started
on the internet with the general manager because the dealerships down here
in Florida only wanted to sell bikes to the rich and famous of which I am
neither. They were very accommodating with price and availability,
responding to my E-mails within a couple of hours. I was E-mailed an
out-the- door price ,broken down so I could see what the bike was costing
me and no hidden charges or surprises to be sprung on me after driving 517
miles to pick up my new FLHTC. They got the bike ready for me with-in 24
hrs. of me making up my mind to make the purchase. Everyone from the
saleswoman to the parts guys, to the guys who prepped my bike were prompt
and friendly. I also met the owner who came out and thanked me for
choosing them to purchase my new bike. They followed up with phone calls
to make sure I made it home safely and was I enjoying my new bike. I will
recommend J&E H-D to all of my friends here in Florida and will drive
another 517 miles." - MD 01/03
"I wish that everyone had the same customer centric focus!!! Great job
J & E
I need somebody to explain to me exactly why or when it became the
standard for the buying public to except poor customer service. How many
experiences have each of us had in dealing with "Unethical Dealership?
Ones where bike prices are one to five thousand over MSRP. Where service
departments are under trained, under staffed, and seem to get more things
wrong then right. Yet this is what we have come to accept as the
standard. I have had the opportunity to visit J&E on several occasions and
each having walked away feeling that I mattered. Not knowing if I was
just having a better then usual day, or looked like an easy mark, I have
consciously watched the interaction between J&E’s employees and the other
customers. The atmosphere is relaxed, customers are allowed to browse and
look over the merchandise without feeling like a small animal being
stalked. The sales staff is very courteous, knowledgeable and willing to
assist. The funny thing about this is, even the customers are nicer to
one another. I can not tell you how many casual conversations were
struck-up about color of clothes, options on bikes and tomorrows ride." -

"I found an add from this dealer posted in the Raleigh NC News and
Observer telling of Harley Davidson’s at MSRP . I thought this was too
good to be true. I called and talked to the sales manager and he assured
me it was correct and would be glad to help me get my ride . Well we
talked back and forth for a day or so and I took a like to him. He was
extremely helpful and always returned my calls . Well my experience with
this Dealer Ship was most excellent ! All I was required to spend was
$500.00 on add-ons . Everyone knows that’s not hard to do and I went
through that quick. My whole transaction was handled over the phone , from
the deposit to customization . I was given a ship and arrival date and
both were met. To end this up, I was very pleased with this dealer ship .
I have gotten great service after the sale and they are always happy to
see me and take my calls . I continue to get email from the Sales and
Service Managers to see if I am still happy with my ride ,but mostly just
to say hello and How are you." - RC 01/03
"I would like for everybody to know what a truly great experience can
and should be like, I admit I am not the easiest person to please. I have
visited more dealerships than I care to think about over the last 6 months
and generally the reaction I get from most of the them when they hear I am
just looking, the sales staff doesn't want to be bothered with my
questions. I walked into J&E and I let the sales staff know I was just
looking and had a few questions for them and they were very courteous and
willing to answer all my questions and after about 1 hour I had met the
GM, they showed me the service department and finally the owner came by
and we had a very enjoyable discussion on motorcycles and what we enjoyed
the most about riding. I can't stress enough the total commitment the
folks at J&E have to customer satisfaction and I am definitely heading
back there for all my motorcycle needs, you can't put a price tag on that
type of service in today's attitude of 'what's in it for me'." - DJ 01/03
"After waiting 7 months to get a bike from a dealer in Wisconsin I
showed up only to be disappointed by the dealer not ordering the right
bike. I had a business trip to Greenville, NC the following week. I got
online and discovered that J&E H-D had a '03 Ultra Classic due to be
delivered in 2-3 weeks. I went down the next morning and put a deposit on
the bike. I came back a month later and took delivery. I have
honestly never had as good of an experience purchasing anything. I've
bought several new cars and a new home and nothing compared to the
experience I had at J&E H-D. They had a 10X12 framed picture of my bike
and a "birth certificate" ready when I got the bike. I was treated like a
king and definitely will be going back when I'm ready for another Harley."

"We purchased, after much research, our first HD. A Heritage Softail
Classic, 03. I can't compliment enough our salesman and the entire staff
at J&E. I actually contacted them via email after checking out the website
and received a prompt reply and phone call. We were kept informed of the
bike's status from the time our order was placed until it came in (early,
no less). We have visited the dealership often and purchased lots of
goodies and so far, have been satisfied. We even sent a link to a relative
who has been awaiting his bike for over 2 months with no delivery in site.
Through the website information, he and his brother contacted the
dealership for information." - KS 01/03
"Purchased my first Harley this month. Had a wonderful salesperson
that assisted me. Salesperson was very knowledgeable. She knew the
answered to all my questions. I would recommend all my friends to visit J
& E H-D" - CP 01/03
