"I recently purchased a 2000 Fat Boy from Worth South. I
paid over MSRP, but at least I did get the bike I wanted and didn't have
to wait a year for it. They really are very nice to work with and
have called me several times to make sure I am happy. I can't say anything
negative about them, they were great." - GW 1/00
"All 3 of the Worth H-D stores in KC Mo. are stealerships. I
called each of them looking for a 2000 FXD Superglide, MSRP $11,300 and
was quoted $16,800! This is the reason they have bikes sitting on their
floor. I think the customers will remember this treatment when sales slow
down. Needless to say I went elsewhere." - SS 1/00
"Very good service dept., I deal with the Service Manager, and he has
always worked very hard to get me serviced and back on the road in short
order. I have a FLHPI with sidecar and any sidecar equipped bike is
real pain in a service bay - but they just take it in stride." - DH 02/01
"This place and its two sister stores, Worth H-D North in
Gladstone and Blue Springs H-D, is definitely a "stealer"! They
mark all their big twins up about $5,500 over MSRP. They cater only to the
wealthy. Of three salesmen I have talked to, one was friendly and the
other two were on the arrogant side (one was in Blue Springs). They do not
take orders, putting all of their allocation directly on the show room
floor. If you don't care how much you pay for a new or used bike and just
HAVE to have one today, then buy it from one of the Worth H-D dealers.
They have a lot of bikes to choose from. But if you want to pay what these
bikes are really worth (no pun intended) don't buy from Worth. Shop
around, even as close as Central H-D just across the state line in Johnson
County, Kansas to save thousands. Or try Lincoln, Omaha, or Grand Island,
Nebraska. Or Joplin or Springfield, Missouri. You will have to wait a
while, but at least you won't be helping to drive up these outrageous
prices. The parts department was courteous. I haven't talked to anyone in
service yet." - SM 3/01
"I have been a member of the Greater Kansas City HOG. Chapter here
for 3 years and never missed a meeting, The president and a salesman at
the South store still doesn't even know my name, I have spoken to this man
more times then I want to remember and every time he looks right through
me, like I don't exist because I don't fit the little image that this
chapter has. It is a shame that they have to act this way, I have quit
going to meetings and all functions of this chapter because of this
attitude and I am not the only person that feels this way. Don't even get
me started on the attitude the salesmen and service people have, I have
stopped buying HD parts all together because of it. Aftermarket and small
independent shops are the way to go." - JB 8/01
"Been going to Worth's for over 9 years and haven't seen one person
carrying a gun to force you to buy from them. I have nothing but respect
for the owner, she runs a FIRST CLASS store that Willie G would like. From
the G/M down she hires nothing but the BEST. The HOG Chapter is one of the
biggest in the USA and I our officers are second to done in dedication to
the club and all the activity it gives our members to participate in." -

"What a great dealer! I have bought 3 Harleys in the last 6 years.
The first one was from Central HD across the state line in Kansas, the
second was from Worth South's sister store up North of the river in
Gladstone, and my third was from Worth HD South in Belton. I guess I was
in search of the "perfect" Harley dealer. I began to think it didn't exist
until I found Worth South. The owner really cares about her customers,
and you can plainly see that her feelings are shared by her outstanding
staff. When I first walked into Worth South (after what seemed like
forever trying to find it) I was greeted with huge smiles. Now, a year
later I still see those same smiles. I also need to mention the excellent
service department. The service is always done correctly, and my bike is
always spit-shined and filled with gas before it is delivered back to me.
Worth HD in Belton is tops in my book. I recommend them to anyone who
asks." - JW 04/02
"I have just had the worst experience in my 27 years of owning and
riding Harleys. I have heard for years how great this dealership was
supposed to be so I took my 98 Heritage there to be serviced, that was a
mistake, in the first place when I get my bike back it was filthy, greasy
handprints all over it, on the seat, the grips and my new whitewalls were
absolutely filthy. I mentioned to the service person the state it was in
and got a cold stare and the response...there's a car wash down the
street..... guess they didn't want my business. Believe me they will never
get it again and I have nothing but negative comments about this stealer.
The parts desk people are just as bad, its like if you don't spend all
your money with them they don't want to wait on you or have anything to do
with giving you any service. I tried to speak with the lady who owns this
store and she completely ignored me....guess I didn't have the "look "
that all her other customers seemed to have. I don't know why they have to
act this way. I had been nothing but nice to these people...oh well guess
I'll go back to Central HD. " - JB 05/02
"This stealer is way over-priced at $5,500 over MSRP! Not to mention
the salesmen's attitudes. They will tell you anything about the lower
priced dealers to get you to buy from them. They have used scare tactics
like "they can't guarantee you a color, ship date, etc.". They also claim
how much better their customer service is. I don't care how much better
their service or anything else is, I'm not paying $5,500 more than I have
to for anything! Do they think we are that stupid? Apparently enough
people are, since they sell a ton of bikes to somebody. I'm sure they are
laughing all the way to the bank too! I have saved thousands of dollars by
just driving 200 miles or less to buy somewhere else. There have been no
repercussions from their (or any other dealer's) service department for
not buying from them." - SM 08/02
"This dealer charges over $5,500 over MSRP on new bikes! Lots of bikes
on the floor since not that many people are foolish enough to pay this
price. You can drive less than 200 miles and save thousands of dollars.
They wanted over $19,000 for a bike identical to the 1999 Road King
Classic I had just bought for $15,500. Same accessories and everything!
The only way to drive down the prices in KC is to boycott these stealers
(all three Worth-owned stores). There are much better deals to be found
if you just give it a little effort (like by looking here on the Dealers
and Stealers site)." - SM 08/02
"Summer of 01 went shopping for a bike after 10 year hiatus. When
salesman found out I wanted a used low mile Evo instead of a brand new
twin-cam , he lost interest, never offered to check with this stores 2
other locations. Bought a 97 Fatboy with 4600 miles from local jeep dealer
that sells used HD's as well as being and Indian, Big Dog, Panzer & Texas
Chopper dealer, was treated GREAT. Went back to Worth North, bought
$2200.00 worth of leather, helmets, boots etc, was treated great. On
subsequent visits salesperson did not have time of day unless we were
there to spend big $$$. Fathers day weekend 01 got hit by a cager. Over
$9000.00 damage to bike , took back to Worth because I wanted HD shop to
rebuild. Cager's insurance paid bill. Did not get bike back till October
27th. (several BS excuses for delays including stopping work to fix
CUSTOMER bikes before and after Sturgis rally). Took bike to a charity
ride for 9/11 victims day after fixed, broke down 70 miles from home.
Towed back to Worth. When I presented tow bill to service manager his
reply "you expect me to take care of that"? Need I say more?" - LW 09/02
"This is another one of the Worth "Stealerships" in the
Kansas City area. The Worth family owns all three stores and has set the
prices in the area to several thousand dollars above MSRP. They basically
have a monopoly in the area. It makes me sick to see people waste their
money there when so much better deals can be found in other cities. I found
a brand new Softail for thousands less (MSRP) just a two hour drive away and
I only have to wait one month for the bike I want. Don't support this type
of price gouging by buying from them. We should boycott dealers like this
and when they can no longer sell bikes at these prices they will have to
bring their prices back to what they should be. There is still a very good
profit margin built into the MSRP price." - SM 03/03
"My brother-in-law just had the worst experience with trying to buy a 2003
Sportster Custom. He was very excited to be buying his first motorcycle
and a Harley. The salesperson he dealt with pressured him very strongly
and that just turned him off big time. Gail's wanted $500 immediately
which my brother-in-law reluctantly provided and then they wanted a $187
document fee. When he asked why did docs cost this much he was told
that's just the norm. Too much pressure and add on costs caused him to
kill the deal. He went to another dealership where the experience was no
pressure and all costs explained fully. He bought his first bike at that
dealership. I'm just glad he didn't give up. I assume that Gail's HD is
doing so well that the sales staff isn't interested in good customer
relations." - LS 04/04

`This is a stealer for real, they don't
give a shit about the guy behind the bike or the reputation of the motor
company. I am in K.C. a lot and have been there frequently. They sell off the floor but
jack it up first, there is no waiting. Trade-ins are shot down to shit and
jack up for sale. A sister of mine took delivery of a bike here, ONCE. I
have been told while on the road with trouble by Bruce the service manager
to ride it on home and have the boys in Milwaukee look at it. The last
time one cylinder was out of my bike due to a keeper on the wrist pin
coming off and I had no oil circulating, Gary at Kutter's in Janesville,
WI talked me into going back down and bringing it up to him which the
motor company fixed." - RB 4/00 "Their prices are about $5500 over MSRP otd. They
have a good selection of new and used bikes on the floor, but I can't
believe anyone would pay these prices! The Worth family has almost a
monopoly on H-D stores in the Kansas City area, owning three of the four
stores. All stores have the same pricing. They obviously don't cater to
the average rider, just the wealthy ones. I heard Central H-D in Shawnee,
KS (the fourth KC area store) tried to open another store in Olathe, KS
but the MoCo thought it would hurt sales at the Worth stores. We NEED some
competition around here! Central H-D can't compete with 1/3 the allocation
the three Worth stores get. They sell at a much lower price, but have a
three year wait. Another store would reduce that. And maybe force Worth to
lower their prices some. I find it hard to believe the MoCo would protect
dealers that gouge like this! Their service dept. has been courteous
but not honest. I have been lied to about what was replaced on some
warranty repairs. They had it four times for the same problem. To their
credit, they did wash it on all occasions and even picked it up at my
house once. Scheduled maint. is high at around $145 for the 1000
mile." - SM 8/01 "Nice building on I-70. Expect to be offered minimum for
a trade-in so run
your own numbers. Loan value to loan value. High markup on all bikes. Check
out their website deals like a 1997 Dyna Superglide FXDS CONV with 18K for
$13900.[11-04 featured used] or a white Fat Boy 2001 for 16595.00 with only
9K [used]." - JC 11/04 |

"I bought a loaded '01 Fat Boy at Mid-America HD (aka Jones HD) about a
year ago. The purchase price was approx. $1500 over MSRP, with no
additional charges for shipping or setup. The dealers in KC (Worth) bump
up the prices $5000-6000 over list. Or you wait for 3 years. So it was
"worth" the 120 mile drive to Columbia. Great service from their
salesman. He was very helpful explaining break-in, servicing, and new
features, and it was obviously as very busy Saturday afternoon. While I
was there I noticed it looked like they had great deals on Road Kings and
Sportsters. The softails on the floor generally had a mark-up similar to
the one I got." - TA 04/02

"I have been pricing 883 Huggers, the 1999 lists @
$5995.00, Gary Surdyke of Festus, MO gave me a price of $9.400.00.
Some people just won't give up. Still has 1999's on their showroom floor."
- T.K 9/99
"We sell for market price. We offer to buy back from our
customer within 30 days of purchase if they desire to sell there new
Harley because they think we over charged. We haven't had a taker
yet. We also pay market price for used Harleys. We give market
price on trade ins. We also give up to $2000 worth of chrome or motor clothes
with a new Harley. We recently allowed $17,000 for a 95 ultra 25th with
47,000 miles toward a new ultra for $24,000." - Surdyke H-D 1/00
"Harley rates all dealers on customer satisfaction (CSI) by by
surveying each dealers customers. The 4th quarter of the year 2000
Surdyke Harley-Davidson had the 10th best CSI score in the nation out of
all 650 Harley dealers in the USA. We were 1st of 17 dealers in our
District." - Surdyke H-D 3/01
"I have been calling around recently to all dealers in the area
looking for 2001 FXD. The salesman at Surdyke quoted me $16,000 for
a stock bike and they had a few on the floor. The sales person was
very cordial on the phone and really wanted me to come down to look at the
bike, but $3,500 over MSRP is a little much. I at first thought this
was the market rate for St. Louis since I was quoted the same price from
Bob Schulz in St. Charles, but a dealer in Illinois (Friez) quoted me
$13,000, only problem is he did not know when they were coming in." -
TB 4/01
"This stealer wants 22,500 for a Low Rider new without any extras! The
owner/salesman said they sell at market price when I asked why was the
price so high. So then I asked what they would give me for my 2000 Hugger
since they are so damn high. He said he would give me 4900.00. They are
the highest I've seen yet. They also own Widman's HD in St Louis and
Dale's/Mt Vernon HD in Mt Vernon IL. We have two bikes and I'll shop
elsewhere for anything I need no matter how small it may be." - TK 06/02
"I foolishly went to this dealer after 1st being quoted $7000 over
MSRP. Before I made the 85 mile trip to this dealer the salesman assured
me this was only a asking price and if I came in they would work with me
on the figures. I told him what another dealer out of state had quoted me,
and confirmed with a email, and he said if I came in he would try to get
me the same deal. I am in retail sales myself and didn't want to waste his
time or mine. The salesman assured me it would be worth my while to come
in so he could get me the best deal. Needless to say they wasted my time,
were not interested in lowering their ridiculous price, and tried to steal
my trade-in. I will be sure to tell everyone, including Harley Corp., how
badly I was treated." - SM 10/02
"Recently I found myself on the opposite side of the
state near Festus, So I stopped in at Surdyke HD. I found an '03 FXSTS in
the color I wanted on the floor so I talked to a salesman about it. He
quoted me $20,500 ($4000 above MSRP) but I was willing to talk to him. He
told me that he could get me payoff amount on my Yamaha trade (because
they own a Yamaha dealership as well) and that there was some rebates on
this particular bike. I gave him my price range and he said that he was
sure we could get to it. When I got home I emailed him some pictures of
my bike and then called him. I told him that I had been on this site and
seen some bad comments so if he was going to run me around, don't waste my
time. He assured me it was just unreasonable customers that couldn't get
what they wanted. He said that he was confident that everything he told
me was "set in stone" and I gave him my information for the credit
application. The next day he called me back to tell me that I had
qualified for the loan and would call me again with the sale managers
numbers. When he called back he quoted the FXSTS at $21,500 and wanted to
give me $500 less than payoff for my Yamaha. He never mentioned the
rebates and when I said I could not do that and was a little upset at the
change, he tried to put me on an FXST at $17,900. I will never go back to
Surdyke and will strongly encourage anyone else from going there." - SB
05/03
"Have tried to deal with these people over the years (new purchase and
trade-in) and have had poor results from Surdyke. Results not just poor,
but insulting. To buy from Surdyke or any of the OTHER stores they own
would be a major financial mistake. Have had friends that are or have been
salesmen for them and they give a poor report as well." - DB 12/04
"What a poor attempt to make a sale: (I went to test ride a FXDBI, which
was a difficult bike to find at the time. The salesman said he could
locate one and have it at the dealer in a couple days, but he said it
required me to put the $500 deposit down to get it in. 3 days later, the
deposit clears my bank!! I made several calls and a trip back there to get
my money back. They couldn't explain why the check was cashed that a
refund check would be issued on Mon. 5 days later, no check or return
phone call. Had to call them again and the salesman was told that it took
10 days for all refunds to be issued. I did receive the check the next
day, only to find out that it was made out 2 days prior to me getting it.
All of this just to test ride a bike, not to mention it was $3500 over
MSRP. Will never deal with again." -FD 11/05 |
WORTH H-D

"I bought a used '95 FXDL & extended warranty from them in '98
for about 2k more than it was actually worth. 2 Days later it ate a
starter. They hassled me on replacement but eventually did replace it. 6
months later the same thing happened during an advanced MC safety course.
Same hassle with same result. I bought a chrome swing arm that was rusted
in the box which required another argument on the showroom floor to
return. Last year the bike was hit in a parking lot. They kept it a week
& charged $100 for an insurance estimate & did no repairs. When I
pulled it from them because they hadn't even started I got another hassle.
This dealer is definitely a stealer from the sales dept. thru parts &
service. Even the dealer sponsored HOG. chapter is nothing but a shill.
I'll never deal with them again!!" - TA 4/01
"Very pleasurable people to deal with. All three stores treat you like
family. Had a coil go out on my bike early one morning, called the dealer
when they opened and they told me to come up and we would go pick up my
bike, it was 50 miles from town. No questions asked, no quams, just a
friendly attitude and excellent customer service. Another time I had a
problem, got my bike back home, called the next day they were open, they
sent two guys and a trailer to pick up my bike from my house, took it to
the shop and repaired it. (Was out of warranty, but they fixed it for no
cost as it was a recurrence of a problem) Also, one of the most active
and fun HOG groups around, if you think we ride & have fun, then you're
either anti-social or don't want to ride." - MW 04/02
"Was looking for a 2002 Road King Classic. Called the closest Harley
Dealership, which would have been Worth HD North. They would sell me the
bike for a little over $5000 above list price. They did not have it but
could re-locate one for me. I called around and found a dealership in
Iowa, that would sell me the bike for about $2000 above list, but the best
price I had found. They would have to re-locate one too. Talked to
Worth-HD North to see if they could do anything on the price, they came
down $500. Needless to say I ended up driving my truck to Iowa and
hauling the bike back to Missouri. Total 8 hours of driving. Here is the
best part. When I was signing the paperwork and was handed the title,
guess where the bike was re-located from ? Worth-HD South, Worth-HD
North's other store! That's, right. I bought the same exact bike but the
Iowa dealer had to drive down here to haul the bike up to Iowa, so that I
could drive to Iowa and haul the bike back to Missouri. Does that rub
anyone else the wrong way besides me? Their staff is nice, Parts guys
are great. But I had to share this story with someone else." - SR 03/03
"Just bought a 03 Ultra from these guys, a hard bike to find, but they
had two. Yes, I did pay over MSRP, but I feel that I got a fair price for
my trade, and was treated great. Went up on Thursday and signed the paper
work, and made arrangements to have it delivered on Friday. Friday morning
it was raining, but they showed up on time with my new bike in an enclosed
trailer. No complaints, I've done business with these guys for quite a few
years, and I'll keep going back." - DM 04/03
"In 1999 I tried to buy a 1200S from Worth. I live in
the same town, and even went to school with the Worth kids. I wanted to
keep my business there. The price of the bike was so high, that I could
not get financed! I called Central in KS and they sold me one for about
1500 bucks cheaper. When I was working with Central, I got a call from the
sales person at worth. He said "hey, HD is running your credit with
another dealer". I explained to him that it was 1500 cheaper across the
state line, but would buy from Worth. He said he could not help and hung
up. Its a sad day when you have to travel out of state, just to pick up a
bike." - NB 05/03
"I looked at several dealerships in the area for a new 1200 Sportster.
I got
the best price at Worth (just a couple hundred dollars over MSRP out the
door. I was most impressed though with their customer service. I saw
some of the previous reviews of this dealer and I have to say my
experience was very positive. Maybe they have changed?? At any rate, at
least give them a look, maybe they can help you out." - JB 08/03
"This dealer usually is just another boutique. But I've got to relay a
positive experience I just had there that literally knocked my socks off.
Bought a new ignition switch there in May and had them wrench it on for
me. Been having some elec. problems lately so replaced the circuit breaker
and called it done. Problem persisted so I take the scoot up and have the
Svc. Mgr. eyeball it. He replaces the switch, then calls an "apprentice"
(young wrench) over to help him as the problem re-occurs. Long story
short, they pull the tanks, ferret out the REAL problem, put a new
connector on the power wire and I'm back on the road in about 70 minutes
and everyone's all smiles. The charge - slid the "apprentice" some change
on the side and he called it done. Good wrench, good cust. svc. excellent
cust. relations. Paradigm shift at this dealer." - MB 07/04
"I've heard a couple of bad experiences about Worth H-D that made me
leery to go there. Goes to show that you can't always believe what you
read. My experience there was great. I recently purchased a used 01
Softail Standard, with everything on it I wanted, at what I thought was a
fair price. All the salespeople were great, not pushy, and explained
everything about the bike. My wife and I were very pleased with everyone
there. I really have nothing negative to say about my experience with
them. I would highly recommend Worth H-D. Great bunch of people." - BB
12/04
"I have been riding bikes for 30+ years, and NEVER been able to
trade/buy at worth, always WAY over MSRP. Well time to move up again,
even I knew what they were going to tell me, but still close to me, so had
to give them a shot before heading to Iowa again. Was I in for the
surprise of my life...MSRP on my new Road King without ANY argument, money
for my trade that I could live with, and to top it off, the finance guy
got me .25% UNDER the best rate I had found. The only trick is you need
to tell them MSRP, then they will deal on it. No bump in set up or
freight, the only rub was $277 Doc fees, and I guess everyone gets
something like that. Over the years here I have heard it all about Worth
from Worthless to King Stealer. Well, all I can say is ya gotta try 'em
again, as there has been a BIG change at that dealership." - VW 03/05
"Just bought my first motorcycle from Worth, a 2005 XL883C. The sales
person I worked with was very nice and helpful. I got the bike for MSRP
but then they added a freight and document charge for a total of about
$550 over MSRP. My experience with the part/service department is a
little shaky though. I went in to buy a windshield and asked them if it
was something I could put on myself. "Oh, no, they replied, it's quite
difficult." So they charged me $50 to put it on. It was 4 little
brackets!! Did they take advantage of me because I am a woman? Or do
they do that to everyone? Now I go in with a part number and walk
away with my parts. I will have my scheduled maintenance done there as I
purchased it all up front with the bike. But anything else is being done
by myself or elsewhere." - ES 07/05

"They sell for MSRP + freight, color and a set up
fee. I was on the list for a Fat Boy for about 10 months and I am not sure
how much longer I would have to wait. They just moved into a new building.
Everyone there is up front and you can call anytime. I ended up finding a
94 Fat Boy. The sales person to contact there is Leslie." - FB 4/00 "It all started when I tried to buy a Buell blast and put
it on a Visa card. They wanted me to pay a 3% up-charge. Out the door I went
and bought at Denny's in Springfield (no up- charge). The staff at
Cycle Connection doesn't even acknowledge your existence. They are about
$1300 over MSRP on everything. If people would stop paying over MSRP maybe
the dealers would get the hint. I wish there was room here for the letter I
received in response to a letter I sent the owner complaining about his
dealership." - MM 10/01
"I called these people up on the phone from
Arkansas and asked for a price for a new Deuce. They gave me a good price
close to MSRP and I sent them a deposit check. Later I called them and added
some items, grips, pipes, SE air kit, SE42MM.. They called me up several
months later and told me my bike would be ready on a Saturday if I wanted to
come up and get it. The bike was perfect, everything installed as promised,
no glitches. I took it home, broke the bike in, ZERO problems. While I was
at Cycle Connections, they made me feel like I was part of the family and at
home. No wonder they are in the top 10% of the HD dealerships." - NV 03/02 |

"I have been pricing 883 Huggers, the 1999 lists @
$5995.00, he priced it at $7,500. The Dealers do not have
anything in stock and do have a wait list. But you will save so much
more." - TK 9/99 "I will pick up 2001 FXSTI with alarm on April 9,
2001. MSRP = 13,585, I will pay $15,500. Give 10% off on
accessories purchased at time of delivery (no break on installation
labor). They began filling 2002 wait list on March 1.
Require $500 to get on list (new policy). They have price lists hanging on
wall next to salespersons. Just rebuilt entire shop and showroom
with new H-D brick front decor, new dyno - big buck investment, do not
expect prices to go down here anytime soon. Absolutely no new big
twins on showroom floor (maybe two or three used units at best)."- WZ

"I recently sent my wife to Doc's H-D to pickup a manual, oil
& filter for my new 01 Sportster. (He is closer than the dealer I
purchased from.) When I returned home from work I looked at the
manual and it was priced at $46.00, yet I was charged $56.00. I called and
spoke to Pat in the parts department, inquiring about the difference, he
told me that the manual was $56.00. I asked about the price of $46.00 and
he told me they used to be that price but now were $56.00. I told him it
seemed strange to be marked one price and be charged a different one. He
said (in a curt tone) what do you want me to do. I asked him to sell me
the manual at the price on the cover, his response was no. I took all the
products back and had my money refunded. I had looked at Doc's before I
purchased my Sportster and ruled them out because of their attitude and
pricing. I would now push my bike home if I broke down in front of their
shop, before I would purchase anything. "Definitely a stealer
dealer." - DN 7/01
"Hit St. Louis on a Sunday evening. Set the alarm--and that was it.
Could not get the alarm to unarm. Monday morning contacted my two dealers
back home in Indiana. Their ideas did nothing except set the alarm off.
Finally, called Doc's. Had the scooter towed there ($70.00--not by them).
They had me in and out in 1 and 1/2 hours. Replaced the alarm with a
standard turn signal unit (did not have an alarm in stock). Everyone in
service was helpful. Talked with parts folks. They seemed pretty nice.
Nice dealership. No new bikes on the floor. They were not cheap, but they
got me back on the road in short order. That is what was important at the
time. Very professional throughout the process." - JC 10/01
"My brother and I tried to buy 2 new Harleys from Doc's
in 2004. Dealership was nice but wanted us to order bikes AND pay WAY over
MSRP for both bikes. Sales person was unwilling to change price even for
buying 2 bikes. I ended up buying in stock AND at MSRP from Calumet H-D (IN)
and my brother bought a Honda VTX 1800 from a different dealer. I will not
do business with them again. It takes more than a nice store front to make
customers happy." - MG 02/05 |
OZARK H-D
Lebanon, MO

"The family that owns this dealership is committed
to delivering a quality product and outstanding service department. They
are very active in the local Hog chapter, and are all riders. For anyone
looking for a new or used bike, service, or just about anything else it
would be worth your time to contact them!" - RT 3/00 "I called emailed Ozark as well as 10 other Missouri
dealers to find a Gunmetal 2003 883 XLH. This is my first bike. They were
the only ones to respond. Either they provide great service or the other
dealers are awful. The only problem was the quote was $7,600 for a $6,000
MSRP. I e-mailed the sales person back and told him he was a little high
and that if there was a little negotiation I would come down and pick the
bike up and pay cash. He stated "This is a firm price. We sell most of our
bikes before they ever get here. We take $1,000 to order a bike, the
Gunmetal 883 is still here." Basically they will try to make a sale but
their prices are high. Looks like I am buying my bike out of state." - JK

10/03 "I have known the folks at Ozark several years. They have
always been fair and straightforward. I ordered an '04 Road King Custom a
few weeks ago. $250 over MSRP. Good people." - RH 04/04
"I have been doing business with these folks for about 5 years now. All of
their people have been top rate. I had a 94 Sportster that when it came
time to trade, they offered me blue book price for but they did not have the
RK in stock that I wanted (Feb 03). I bought my bike at another dealer, but
that has not changed a thing about the way I am treated when I walk in
there. I am treated like family. They now have 2 stores and in both
stores, old time, new, and potential customers are treated the same, like
family. I could go on and on but the bottom line is: Great people." - JL

YEAGER CYCLE

"I knew the Harley Davidson pricing when I got into
things to start with. The dealer (the entire family for that matter) is
more a part of the local motorcycle scene, than some of the untouchable
stand alone. Always had great service, and got whatever I needed. I won't
say they're busy in the shop during the summer months, but you've got to be
realistic." - WC 07/02 |

DENNEY'S H-D
Springfield, MO
|
"The staff at Denney's has been very friendly and
helpful. I bought a 2000 X-1 Lightning from them, shortly afterwards the
rear shock (recalled version) blew its seals. they had my bike for several
weeks, but that was at the high point of the shock recall, they had to
wait for a shock. Prices are very reasonable, I paid right at MSRP if not
a little below. they usually have a decent inventory." - RP 3/01
"I knew that Denney's was high to begin with, but I really wanted
a Heritage Springer. The service manager was very nice. Took me around and
showed me lots of bikes including a USED 1999 Fatboy and they only wanted
19,500.00.Told him I wanted a new Purple/Diamond Ice Heritage Springer, He
acted like he had never heard of the color and then told me that it was a
special CUSTOM color and he would have to special order it and added
3,000.00 to his already inflated stealer special price of only
23,500.00...I went else where and got a new 1999 Indian Chief for
17,549.00." - JK 4/01
"I can't speak to the prices of new & used bikes but
these guy have the best service dept. of any shop I've been to, dealer or
independent. I had a major breakdown on a trip & they not only fixed it
right they documented in writing what the previous shop had screwed up which
caused the problem in the 1st place. From the shop manager to the wrench
that did the work they are all 1st rate. I live almost 200 miles from them
but they will get any service work I can't handle myself from now on." - TA

BOB SCHULTZ H-D
St. Charles, MO
|
"I have been pricing 883 Huggers, the 1999 lists @
$5995.00, Bob Schultz gave me a price of $10,500 and said that I would not
get one unless I would be willing to pay that price. Some people
just won't give up. Oh, the higher priced stealers still have 1999's
on their showroom floor. The Dealers do not have anything in stock
and do have a wait list. But you will save so much more."
- TK 9/99
"I have been going to Bob Schultz for Dirt Bike Parts for over 10
Years. But since I've been pricing Harleys there, I've even stopped giving
them my dirt bike business. They ask $5000 - $7000 over MSRP.
What a joke! I'll travel 100 miles one way to my preferred dealership,
thank you very much." - RB 1/00
"Recently purchased 01 883 XL from Bob Schultz. In the past, I
swore that I would NEVER buy a ride from him because he includes this
bogus 1000 in "free" stuff and had higher than average St Louis
prices. Well I guess that they saw the light, cause now that had the
LOWEST St Louis price on new out the door XL. They got rid of the 1000
merchandise deal, offer 12% off HD accessories EVERY DAY! Salesman
was very helpful and now regard him as a friend. Bike delivered in superb
shape and have absolutely no complaints so far with dealer. I've owned 2
HD, 1 Buell, 4 BMW over the years." - CS 5/01
"I was in St. Louis vicinity in 99 (500+ miles from home) when the front
rocker box started leaking like crazy. Stopped in on my way by to see if
they could work me in they said "NO I have local peoples bike in here that
want to go riding" I explained that I was more than 500 miles from home
and the Service manager was obviously already done with me and onto the
local rub ignoring me completely. I have not been into the shop since and
will never be again. I called Ted's in Alton, IL on Saturday morning and
Ted's worked me in, guess who gets my business from now on when I am in
the St. Louis area." - TW 04/05 |

ST. JOE H-D
St. Joseph, MO
|
"After 20 years of not owning a bike I had been searching
high an low for something in my price range, looked at a bunch on the web
made lots of phone calls but I had never even looked at ST Joe HD's site due
to some negative comments I had heard. I went, first impressions as you walk
in the door is a very nice, well laid out store, the 2 bikes I wanted to
look at were just inside the door, I looked, sat, read and dreamed for
probably 30 minutes and no salesman bothered me once. I made up my mind to
make an offer on a nice little '97 1200XLH Sport, stood there looking bored
for 10-15 minutes finally a girl behind the counter asked me if I needed
something, right away a salesman comes over, we talk he gets the keys we
fire her up, I made an offer about a grand below what they had it priced, he
comes right back with a counter offer I could live with, talk him into
tossin in a helmet for that price, when we go back to office I realize I was
dealing with the owner. Nice guy, we took care of business, tells come back
in an hour and the paperwork should be done, the F&I girl knew her stuff,
everything went smooth as silk, I'll be back for the next one." - JM 06/04
"I questioned whether the shop installed a part (SE cam) they charged me
for. I had my bike dyno'd elsewhere and it was a little weak. I told St.
Joe's shop person this and he said maybe they didn't install it but he would
dyno it. I left it on Tue and it was supposedly ready the following Sat.
They said the SE cam was in the bike. After I paid for the dyno and was
starting to leave, the mirrors were hanging loose and the choke cable was
hanging down. I brought this to their attention and they tightened them and
told me "that's what happens when you dyno". (the mirrors were then so tight
I could not adjust them) When I got home I found loose and missing screws
from the engine and they had scraped the black paint off below the front
exhaust port." - SH 08/04 |

GATEWAY TO THE WEST H-D
St. Louis, MO
|
"Bought my '05 LowRider at MSRP in March, got blue book
for my trade. Salesman was cordial, unlike their tone a year ago when they
were getting 3,000 over MSRP. Guess the market for Harley's has dwindled
some - cutting production as the MoCo did might fix that. Parts and service
are usually OK, but parts did order wrong bag, service couldn't install, and
wrecked the bolts on my helmet lock getting it off and back on." - LW 08/05
"Very bad quality and customer service in the service and parts department.
Service department just had my bike for three weeks, and the problem
(intermittent ignition) still wasn't fixed. Parts department routinely
orders or sells me the wrong part, but instead of crediting my card back or
issuing a refund, the store will only issue store credit, even though it was
their mistake in the first place. To be fair, there is one parts rep there
that knows his stuff, and I think everyone knows who he is and waits in his
line to avoid mishaps. All in all, I find that this dealership is far more
interested in selling t-shirts and having bake sales than they are in
getting bikes back on the road." - RK 10/05 |

BOURBEUSE VALLEY H-D
Villa Ridge, MO
|
"Plenty of bikes on the floor here as of 4/6. Most are well
above MSRP. Had a couple of Road Kings for 21,900, plenty of Sportsters
and various other models at similar markups. They seem to have gone to
exclusively HD instead of the previous multi brand shop." - JD 4/01
"The people at Bourbeuse Valley did everything right. They have quite a few
models on the showroom floor, with the some of the more popular ones
pre-sold. They are marked up a few thousand - no surprise here. The
salesman was very helpful and informative, without being pushy or arrogant.
I told them what I was in the market for, and he took the time give me the
information I needed to make my own decision. I have found the service
department equally as helpful, whether I was asking advice, or spending
money. Once, they kept the shop open almost an hour late so that I could
pick my bike up after scheduled maintenance. Overall, they have showed
genuine interest in making my dealership experience a good one. Recommended
highly." - JA 11/02
"SUPER, these guys saved the last day of our vacation.
The stator dies on our '01 Ultra about 5 miles away, we were waiting at
their door when they arrived at 9am. Got us in first thing, stator installed
and out the door by 11am. Turned what could have been a bad day into a
pleasant experience." - TK 07/05 |
