"Bought a used 2000 FXDWG from them last week. Fair
bunch of guys to deal with. They aren't afraid to talk with you and give
the straight scoop. They are moving into a new shop along I90 this week
Mar. 26,27,28,2001. It will be a tremendous location for them. Customer
service oriented in a big way!" - DF 3/01 "One of the guys I was
riding to Sturgis with a few years ago had a major problem and we had to
make an unscheduled stop at Bergdale's for a substantial repair. They were
simply outstanding. Given the desperate circumstances, they could've taken
unfair advantage of the situation but did no such thing. Instead they
provided top-notch service at a fair price. To me this demonstrates the
highest integrity on the part of their organization." - RS 04/02 "On
my way to Sturgis in 2000 my voltage regulator went and also fried my
battery. I managed to make it to a hotel in Albert Lea. I called the
Bergdale after hours service line, spoke to the owner, and made
arrangements to get the bike there first thing the next morning. At the
time I had no clue what was wrong with my bike and I was totally at the
dealers mercy. Not only did they get me right in, they allowed me to come
in early before official opening time. These folks treated me like royalty
and did the service at a fair price, actually a bargain compared to what I
am used to paying. They told us the best place to go have breakfast while
the work was being done and we were on the road again by 10:30 am. I have
nothing but good things to say about this dealership and wish Bergdale was
my dealer." - JO 08/02 "In search of a new v-rod for my wife I visited eight
H-D dealers including Bergdale. Some were "friendly" some were pushy and
one sharply criticized me for the motorcycle I ride (Honda Goldwing). I
have 45 years of riding experience and have extensive experience with
dealers of all makes of motorcycles. I have owned over 30 motorcycles.
Bergdale was sincerely friendly and willing to patiently answered all my
questions. The staff is very competent and accommodating. My first two
visits were essentially to shop around and kick tires. Getting to the point
this is the best dealer of any motorcycle make I have experienced. I was
particularly impressed how they addressed their statements and questions to
my wife (the buyer) and not me. I strongly urge any one buying a Harley to
call and visit this dealer before making a purchase elsewhere. I hope
to purchase a Heritage Softail for my self. I feel like family at Bergdale.
Many thanks to all the staff (friends)." - SH 11/03 |

"This dealership is charging over $24,000 for an
Ultra Classic and $23,000 for a Classic. They have signs hanging on the
wall that state that all bikes sitting in the dealership are above MSRP
and that the management has the right to set the sellling price of all
bikes in the floor." - ME 5/00 "Recently in for service as well as looking at new Sportsters for
my lady. Many Sportsters on hand offered at MSRP. Big Twin's,
new and used sell for a hefty premium. Service, parts &
accessories personnel are pleasant and helpful." - DO 3/01
"I visited this dealer last Thursday in search of a Fatboy. When I
spoke to the salesman and asked how much they were getting for Fatboys he
responded with "As much as we can get". He wanted about 19,000 for a
2002. Prepare to Pay! See my notes under Faribault Harley Davidson." -
SF 01/02
"I went there and put my name on a list a long while back because the
salesman said he would sell me a fat boy for MSRP, and he could because
"were the largest volume dealer in the nation"... well bike came in, I got
my call, but it was way over MSRP like $2 grand. I told him that wasn't
the deal, he said look at your receipt, no commitment in writing as to
price, and obviously no ethics for their word, I got my deposit back, but
the salesman kept $100.00 of my cash because he said he used it to move me
up the waiting list, he was a big a-hole... and although nice big
dealership and lots of bikes, I'm out a hunski , and I strongly suggest
you watch your wallet and do business somewhere else." - LF 09/02
"After a bad experience at the Rochester H-D I drove over an hour to
Twin Cities H-D. The salesman told me up front that they charge over MSRP
for their bikes. He showed me his waiting list for just the Sportster and
it was clear that this dealership had a lot of business. One day the
salesman called me and told me a Sportster 1200 Custom arrived and that
the other two salesmen were calling the top of their lists at the same
time, and the bike would go to the first one in the door. I realize now
this was probably a sales tactic, and a poor one as I lived over an hour
away. I purchased a new 1999 Sportster 1200 Custom for the quoted price
($1000 over MSRP) as a present for my father's 50th birthday. This
dealership is not bad if you can stand paying over MSRP. My father
serviced his Sportster there many times and found that the service
department is quick and fair. I have since found other H-D dealerships in
the state that charge MSRP and I purchased a 2002 VRSCA V-Rod from
Faribault H-D." - MB 05/03 |

"Excellent service and parts personnel - Friendly
and knowledgeable. Sells bikes at $1000 over MSRP including setup.
Several month wait for big twins depending on model." - DO 3/01
"Howdy I sent my wife to get parts there over Easter with
a list as I live 300 miles away I wrote down an aluminum front engine
mount bracket and a clutch lever She only brought back a rubber motor
mount She paid in advance for the clutch lever I didn't get. So I called
and they told me when they got the clutch lever they would send both parts
and some of my money back as there was a price difference .That the speedee
delivery truck would drop off my parts and pick up the motor mount. He came
and picked up the part to send back but didn't bring the parts I need This
bike has been down since the week before Easter. So I called and they
wouldn't send out the parts I paid for till they got there part back.
Because of there mistake I can't ride this bike for two weeks. I can't
believe they can say they'll send a part then not send it. They wouldn't
even send the clutch lever I paid in advance for. I'm a business owner but I
wouldn't be in business if I treated people like this." - KB 05/03
"I
bought my very first Harley (and bike) at Donahue Harley Davidson in Delano,
Minnesota in early August of 2003. It is a 2003 model 1200 Sportster Sport,
Gunmetal Pearl color. I paid well under MSRP, and it was also $1,000 less
than another dealer in Minnesota. Since I did not have my riding permit or
license at the time of the deal, they even delivered the bike to my house -
FREE! It is about a 45 mile, one way trip. My 500 mile maintenance visit
to the dealer was done quickly and to my expectations. I will consider them
again if and when I make another bike purchase." - DS 01/04
"I've
purchased two bikes from Donahue H-D and was treated great both times. The
salespeople are great and very helpful, and the service department is
top-notch. The pricing is fair and they seem really honest. They have a
small-town atmosphere and treat you with respect. They actually care about
the customer and will go out of their way to help with anything. I would
highly recommend this dealer to anybody that's interested in purchasing a
bike. I don't usually send comments out, but I felt the need to help any
other buyers who may be considering a purchase." - KS 08/05 |

"I called the dealer about a '00 FLHRCI they had listed
on the internet. I spoke with a salesman, who informed me that it had been
sold 2 days earlier. He asked if I was interested in waiting for their demo
'03 to be released for sale. He told me, based on last year's demo, that it
would be released around the 1st week in July, with an est. 800-1000 miles
on the odometer, and would be sold at $1,000 below MSRP. He also stated
that I would have to put a $1,000 hold on the bike, which would be fully
refundable should I change my mind. I gave him my info and told him I'd
call back about it. I called back 5 hours later and spoke with their
"senior" salesman, who had been out to lunch when I first called. I told
him about the discussion earlier and he sounded mad. He said he had to talk
to the owner and call me back. When he did, he said my $1,000 was
non- refundable and that I would be paying MSRP + shipping, or roughly $1200
more than what I was told earlier. Also, that I would get zero $ toward
motorclothes or accessories with my purchase, but that he'd try to get me
10% off anything I bought the day I got my bike. He was completely rude.
Impressions: The first guy had no idea what he was talking about, but he
treated me well. The other was experienced, but a royal jerk.
I will still buy my bike there, as I have already put my $1,000 down, but
only this once. What should have been one of the most exciting experiences
of my life has turned out to be one of the worst, ruined by the lack of
knowledge and rude treatment by their staff. Unless the owner makes some
amends, I will have never have anything good to say about this dealership.
I will, however, insist that the first salesman be credited with this sale. Apparently, he had no idea what he was talking about, but at least he
treated me very professionally." - CF 05/03 |

"Nice people, knowledgable, friendly parts and service folk, always
willing to answer questions. They answer their email. Nice, new
boutique-style store, lots of clothes and doo-dads, fair parts selection.
Trade-in prices are generally reasonable. Floor is always stocked with
lots of unspoken-for new bikes but under most circumstances it appears
that you will pay WAY over MSRP to get one of them. Example: $23,065 for
2003 FLSTCI in September 2002." - HM 10/02
"I was in with my family on 3-6-04 and spoke with a salesman about a new
2004 Ultra Classic. I was quoted $1,000 over MSRP plus $959 for setup on a
couple of the two tone Ultra's. I said I really wanted the Vivid Black and
I'd think about it and get back with them. They called me 15 minutes into
my drive home to tell me they found a vivid black Ultra that would be
delivered April 30. I was told they would sell it for MSRP plus $959 setup
but I had to make up my mind by Monday 3-8-04 I agreed to call them one
way or another. I checked around Monday and found that MSRP is generally
the lowest you will find but their setup was as much as $500 higher than
other dealers. I called back Monday evening and spoke with the salesman
just like I promised. He said he was busy with a customer and would call
me right back. He had my cell phone, home phone, business card with fax,
email etc. Monday night came and went without a call. Tuesday I called to
speak with the salesman and was informed he was on vacation. I was given
another salesman and was told that the deal was not authorized and that I
had to pay $2000 above MSRP. I told him to get a hold of the salesman that
I first spoke with because he knew I needed 2 full sets of leathers,
extended warranty etc. I received the final call this morning 3-10-04 to
inform me that I could not have this bike for the original price I was
quoted. They not only lost the bike sale but all the leathers extended
warranty etc. I found this same bike at another dealership in Albert Lea
for MSRP and $250 less on the setup. I'm used to doing business the old
fashioned way. A mans word is his bond." - RW 03/04 |

"Very friendly, customer focused dealership with
very active HOG club. Sell bikes at MSRP with a 3-6 month wait
depending on the model." - DO 3/01 "After dealing with Twin City
Harley, these guys were a breath of fresh air. I called the salesman on the
phone, he had a Fatboy on the showroom floor. Sold it to me at MSRP plus
$650 for setup. Delivered the bike to me in the twin cities metro. Price
was un-negotiated, highly recommend." - SF 01/02 "Blew a starter
today. Leaving for Sturgis in two days. Called all shops, none would get
me in. Called Faribault HD. They were full but said to bring it in and
they will stay late and take care of it. Service department was very kind
and helpful." - RH 08/02 "I bought a 03 FLHTCI in Oct 02 and the
sales people went way out of their way to help me make the purchase. I did a
quite a bit of shopping and their price was about as good as I could find ,
MSRP + $750. Had their service put on some extras and was also very pleased
with their work. Would recommend them to anyone. They also have a great new
facility." - GH 03/03 "After shopping around to four of the H-D
dealerships in Minnesota, the Faribault dealership seemed to have the best
prices and practices. They quoted me MSRP + setup for all their bikes. I
purchased a new 2002 V-Rod from this dealership. My service appointments
have been done quickly and to my satisfaction each time. My experience was
so positive, that my father decided to buy his next bike from Faribault. He
got a new 2002 Road King. A few months later my brother got a new 2002 Dyna
Wide Glide based on our good experiences. The Faribault H-D dealership
keeps us very loyal customers. Each one of us have to drive past a
different H-D dealership to get to Faribault H-D." - MB 05/03 "Bought
an '04 Ultra at MSRP with reasonable Freight and $200.00 setup. Great
dealer. Salesman took the time, introduced me to the service people and
finance department. No pressure to finance through them. First class
operation all the way." - PS 01/04 |

"I went to a couple of local Twin Cities dealerships in the hope of
getting info on purchasing a new Harley, my first. My encounters were not
very positive. At Twin Cities H-D Lakeville, the salesman greeted me at
the door and with no pressure, very quickly identified the correct bike
for me based on my riding style, size, etc. We then determined price
range. Two weeks later I had the motorcycle I wanted, for a price I could
afford and was treated very well. If you work with a salesperson as a
mature adult, and are realistic about pricing, you will not be
disappointed. I will buy at Twin Cities H-D again. Service department is
very good. Usually in for service within a few days of request." - ML

"I was in and out the door (Lakeville) in less than 15 minutes with a
MSRP Deal on a 2003 1200 Sportster (Anniversary Colors) and I had them
throw in a mini-tach and install it at no charge. I bought the bike
November 27th 2002. They also gave me a discount card for 20% all my
chrome crap accessories! The salesman was super and very helpful to me.
The bike is for sale, with 3200 miles. I decided I want a dirt bike
instead!" - DC 09/03

"They sell bikes for MSRP and have a great staff.
The owner made me feel very welcome and spent a great deal of time with
me. I have visited many dealers over the last year and found only 2 or 3
dealers that had any respect for potential customers. I suggest visiting
them if you are looking for a dealer with a good attitude and respect."

"Just bought a new 1200 Sportster, Custom, and what a great
experience working with these guys it was and will be. They have 2 really
great salesmen, who take the time to talk to you. They have a super store
for both parts and Harley gear, and a great guy in charge of the shop.
They can handle it all for you. They sell to locals only, and for MSRP,
plus freight and setup. So all you So. Minnesota Harley guys, come check
these Boys and Girls out. Real active HOG. club." - SS 6/01

"This is a great dealership. We have bought 3
new bikes from them at cost plus $500 setup fee. The service is top
box and the people are friendly, honest and easy to work with. They
truly believe in "Customer Service". There are several
dealers closer but the trip is well worth your time." - LF 4/00
"Buyer beware! If you haven't bought a new bike here, don't bother
trying to get any service work done in this lifetime. Even some of my
riding companions, who have bought new here, are dissatisfied with the
service. Money, lot's of money may get you into the owners' "select
circle". I, personally, will never set foot through this Stealer's door
again!" - WO 10/01
"I had a very costly experience with their
service department. About 700 miles after their "repair" which included a
complete new drive belt and pulleys the pinion shaft broke. They
had failed to align the primary chain and loctite the compensating
sprocket nut. It was loose when we opened the primary and the chain
wasn't even close. They were in a rush with pre Sturgis work, got
interrupted, came back and buttoned it up without finishing inside.
The service manager called and told me to come get it ASAP as they had
lots of bikes to work on. Seems they are more interested in pushing
the work out the door than the quality of the work. I too have felt
the "cold" from not being amongst the inner circle in this dealership. I
too will not darken their doors again." - AS 06/02 |

"I was shopping for a Sportster in 1998-1999. I drove my
new car to the Rochester H-D dealership because I live in Rochester. No one
offered to help me until I spoke up and told the sales lady that I was
interested in buying a 1200 Sportster and asked her what kind of wait there
was. She replied "You are not serious, get out of here". I thought she was
joking and since they were no price tags on the bikes I asked her how much a
1200 Sportster costs. Again she replied "You are not serious get out of
here." I left and vowed never to go that dealership again. I was very
serious about buying a Sportster, and can not imagine what gave her that
impression. I may have been young looking (as I was a year out of college),
but age is no reason to treat a person so poorly. The dealership lost my
business because they were arrogant enough to ask me to leave their shop. I
did purchase the 1999 Sportster 1200 Custom, and later a 2002 V-Rod from
other dealerships in Minnesota which earned my business, despite being an
hour drive away." - MB 05/03 |

"Good dealership, charges MSRP + Freight + Setup +
$1500 in add-on accessories. Bikes available FCFS. No lottery or wait
list." - DB "I was very disappointed with this dealer. I was looking to buy a FXST
from them, by the time they got done tagging all of their additional fees
onto the bike it was over $18,000, on a bike that retails for $12,535! I
was told that I lived to far away for me to buy a bike from them, so they
needed to charge me more, unbelievable. I felt that this dealer didn't
want to deal with a person unless they had money sticking out of their
pockets. In my opinion this is a very poor dealer in customer relations."
- GM 9/01
"During early winter of 2001, I went to St. Paul H-D three different
times to make a decision about which NEW H-D to buy. I could not get any
sales help. The sales people (all 3 visits) were too busy talking and
laughing amongst themselves to offer help. I am 50 years old, well dressed
and made it obvious that I had questions. Very disappointed....went to
Twin Cities H-D in Lakeville and had my new Softail in 2 weeks. St. Paul
H-D puts up a great facade if you want to hang around a bunch of poseurs.
They don't even honor discounts from National HOG. I know people who will
not ride with anyone wearing "St. Paul H-D" logo wear because they have
had such negative experiences." - ML 07/02
"Bought My First New Harley There In 2000 . For 100.00 Over MSRP It Is
A Springer. Very Nice People To deal with .bought my 2nd bike there for my
wife that was coming in as a trade when we were looking at bikes cheaper
than we seen the same bikes in the paper for. ordered 2003 cvo road king
for near MSRP and picked it up already .very nice people that are easy to
deal with . took my 22 yr. old son to buy his 1st fat boy .and that one
was sold at MSRP . been in the wind 25 years never bought a new bike
before but when I do it is at St. Paul H-D. I guess some people are better
than dealing than others. - RB 01/03
"Very nice place to browse and get ideas. Very BAD place to buy.
Several thousand over MSRP, loaded up with unwanted accessories, etc.
What's worse, asked labor rate for big bore kit (Stage 2) installation and
was quoted 11 hours @$72/hr. Three Wisconsin dealers quoted 6 hours; all
in agreement. St Paul was clearly gouging on the hours involved; fraud in
my book. Buy and service elsewhere!" - SR 02/03
"I was heading out to the "Run to the Wall Rally". While changing my
oil and checking things out, I found that my front motor mount was busted.
I was planning to head out in 2 days so I need the repairs done fast. I
called several HD dealers, but St. Paul HD was the only shop that could
get me in the same day. Four other locale dealers had a waiting list of up
to 2 weeks and would not help me out. St. Paul had the motor mount
repaired and had also found & repaired a damage rubber oil cooler
line within a few hours. I have read many grumbles about the price
of products & service from the local dealers. About dealers not selling
bikes at MSRP or dealers giving or not giving discounts to HOG members.
Just remember this, all pricing is based on Supply and Demand. Your choice
is simple, get on a waiting list at a dealer that sells at MSRP, or pay
more and drive the bike away the someday. As for service pricing,
shops that have the lowest shop rates generally have the longest wait time
for service (Supply and Demand). Try to get a 10/20K service work done at
a dealer a week before Sturgis without an appointment. St. Paul had a
2-day wait, Rochester had a 1 weeks wait, the other twin cities dealers
will just laugh at you." - WB 03/03
"Late afternoon on Saturday July 3rd, in the middle of an around the Great
Lakes trip, they changed my rear tire, back brakes and changed all three
oils. They were fast, and friendly. The service department worked till
6:30 to get us on the road again. Why I was so happy is that I needed this
service badly, and I was turned away at another dealer (Duluth) earlier,
and this great service kept me on the road, rather than beside it." - JS
